Activity Plan:
1. Print the sentences (the larger font ones at the end of this lesson plan) and cut out
the individual words and punctuations. Paperclip the words belonging to a
sentence together. (If you wish, you may make transparencies of the scrambled
sentences and place them on the overhead projector for students to copy and
unscramble.)
2. Divide the class into groups of 2-3 students.
3. Tell the students to put the sentences together as a puzzle.
4. The first group to unscramble all the sentences correctly wins (points, prizes,
bragging rights, etc.).
Extension Activity:
1. Once all groups have unscrambled the sentences, have each group complete a
project with all their sentences (picture, story, comic books, cartoon strips, etc.).
Tell the students that they must use (but not limited to) all their sentences.
2. Have students act out their projects in front of the class.

When the batter hit a homerun, his team won the game!
Activity Scaling:
The sentences can be modified to be easy or difficult. (Additional adjectives can be added
to make the sentence more difficult.)
