Spelling in regular verbs(-d/-ed/-ied)

• 1) Vowel + consonant: Double the consonant


stop – stopped
travel - travelled

• 2) Add –d, when the verb ends with –e

• 3) A consonant + 'y‘:
Change 'y' to 'i' Then add -ed.
tidy - tidied
cry - cried
