Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Mask)

Personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks are designed to protect against infectious agents. There are different types of masks including cloth masks made of tightly woven fabrics, disposable surgical masks made of paper and plastic used in healthcare settings, and N95 respirators that form a tight seal and filter airborne particles. Proper mask use and cleaning is important to protect health by preventing the spread of viruses from the wearer to others.

Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE )

( Mask )
Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE )
PPE are special coverings designed to protect dental health care personnel (DHCP)
from exposure to or contact with infectious agents. These include gloves, face masks,
protective eyewear, face shields, and protective clothing, e g …

Mask
Is a one important equipment in PPE, to protect our Health and also protect us by
physically

Hence there are some types of masks.

Cloth Mask
A cloth face mask fits against the face using either ear loops or ties around the head.
Multiple layers of fabric create a barrier between your nose and mouth and the outside,
helping contain any respiratory droplets that you may breathe out. The thicker the mask,
the greater the barrier.

You can easily make your own cloth mask at home with or without a sewing machine
using a wide variety of fabrics, though tightly woven fabrics like cotton are
recommended.
Surgical Mask
Surgical masks are disposable covers that are usually worn by medical professionals as
personal protective equipment (PPE) during surgeries or other procedures. They often
made of a combination of paper and plastics, and are commonly light blue in color.

Surgical masks are designed to protect against large respiratory droplets but don't
protect against smaller droplets. They are effective for helping protect others around
you if you are a carrier of the virus. While these masks are ideal for one-time usage,
they also present a few challenges – namely that they can't be washed and reused like
cloth masks.
When should mask be worn?
Dental health care personnel should wear a surgical mask that covers both their nose
and mouth during procedures that are likely to generate splashes or sprays of blood or
body fluids and while manually cleaning instruments. A surgical mask also protects the
patient from microorganisms generated by the wearer. When a surgical mask is used, it
should be changed between patients or during patient treatment if it becomes wet.

Can we sterilize Surgical for reuse?

Surgical facemasks are cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as
medical devices. FDA notes that “surgical masksexternal icon are not intended to be
used more than once. If your mask is damaged or soiled, or if breathing through the
mask becomes difficult, you should remove the face mask, discard it safely, and replace
it with a new one.”

N95 or Professional-Grade Medical Mask ( Filtering Facepiece Respirator )

N95 respirators and other professional-grade medical masks are carefully sized to form
a tight seal between the air outside and the face. They are designed to protect
healthcare workers from droplets in the air.
Powered Air Purifying Respirators

The modularity of PAPRs allows them to be customized for different working

environments. Regardless of type, a PAPR consists of.

 some kind of headgear (mask or hood),

 a powered (motor-driven) fan which forces incoming air into the device,
 a filter (or multiple filters) for delivery to the user for breathing, and
 a battery or other power source.
Self-contained breathing apparatus
A self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), sometimes referred to as
a compressed air breathing apparatus (CABA) or simply breathing apparatus (BA), is a
device worn to provide breathable air in an atmosphere that is immediately
dangerous to life or health.
Elastomeric half facepiece
Elastomeric respirators, also called reusable air-purifying respirators,[1] are a type
of respirator that seals to the face using a mask made of an elastomeric material, which
may be a natural or synthetic rubber. They are generally reusable.

Why should we use a mask?

Mask is a key measure to suppress transmission and save lives, there is not only save
your live, if you are in save it mean your family and your children would be in save. It
mean protect yourself to protect others.

What's the best way to clean my mask?

A. Your mask regularly comes into contact with natural oils from your skin and over time
this can cause accelerated wear and tear on your mask, potentially compromising its
seal and irritating your skin.

This is why we recommend cleaning your mask every day to make sure your equipment
is working to its full potential.
Wash your mask in clean warm (around 30°C) soapy water, making sure you rinse all
components thoroughly before allowing them to dry naturally. Make sure you do not
soak the mask.

If you’re running short of time our mask wipes are a fast and easy cleaning option that
can be used on any mask. Simply wipe out the mask and leave to dry naturally.

After spay the alcohol on mask to be cleaned of bacteria or any Viruses.
