    RE: Application for Analyst at Sattva

    Respected Sir/Ma’am,

    I am writing this letter to express my strong interest in working with Sattva as an Analyst. Being deeply fascinated
    with how constant humanizing of data analysis impacts so many people’s lives across all barriers, fueled by my
    immense passion for driving solutions pushes me to apply for this position. Having worked with Bain in the
    Consumer Products and Retail Division, I worked on over 25 cases across a host of different verticals spanning
    various sectors and geographies. For each case, I navigated through large datasets with 90+ tabs and 2,00,000
    rows in each, converting them into 1 file with 1k rows to drive insights and visualization that has led to a deeper
    glimpse of not only the what’s and how's of a company’s strategy but they key drivers of the decision-making
    process.

    Working on open-ended cases where the client wants to analyze the S&P cost drivers for companies in the CP
    industry involved in-depth research into company financials. As a by-product, I have gotten the opportunity of
    building P&L models from scratch and performing various kinds of analysis and scenarios on internal financial data
    for companies gaining true insights into how each line item affects the bottom line of their statement. I also helped
    create profit tools for a dairy manufacturer - to understand how profit is distributed and flows along the value chain.
    This has helped me get out of the utopian bubble i.e., college, and understand the real meaning of assets.

    Coupled with this, my passion in understanding how various sectors, economies and cultures can reinvent and
    reshape policies in every organization pushes me to work across diverse verticals furthering my level of comfort in
    adopting and reflecting on people’s needs. Working for a Dairy client in culturally varied geographies helped
    understand how backgrounds and cultures influence consumer purchase decisions- product prices might be an
    important driver of consumer spending in Vietnam while on the other hand Milk flavour might be an important
    decision in Belgium.

    Sattva being a global brand has the fundamental belief of scaling low-income communities using capital coupled
    with tech interests me immensely because of the challenges it brings of humanizing numbers, understanding the
    different and yet specific issues faced by them. Looking at civil issues like education, financial inclusion,
    governance and citizen engagement involves a deeper understanding and prioritization of what affects the
    masses. I believe that having worked and researched intensively on Education and financial services in emerging
    markets of South Asia would help me in understanding and assessing the companies that work in these sectors

    The various leadership roles that I have assumed in college and school have honed my communication and co-
    ordination skills. Having enjoyed working in a team has empowered me in brainstorming and building effective
    solutions in a group setting. Bain has provided me with the ability to work for long hours and getting comfortable in
    a challenging work-environment. After dismantling the binary of easy-difficult to easy-interesting, I believe that I am
    not afraid of dealing with diverse, challenging circumstances and would be able to work with a sense of positivity. I
    also feel that if given the opportunity, I will not only work with a sense of ulterior motive but also for benefiting the
    society through a new perspective and my self-driven endeavors.
