2. DREDGERS:
Bucket Dredgers: a series of buckets go down to the sea-bed
to scoop up sand and mud.
Suction Dredgers: like a large vacuum cleaner to suck up sand
and mud.
Grab Dredgers: operate like cranes.
3. ICE BREAKERS:
To keep the sea and channels open (free from ice; freeze up).
Should have Powerful engines; strong hulls.
4. LIGHTSHIPS:
Like ordinary ships; no engines; towed into a certain position and
anchored there.
Have specific lights; a foghorn; radio Beacon; meteorological
equipment.
5. LIFEBOATS:
Have many types and sizes.
Condition: Strong; Stable; Maneuverable; Well-trained crews.
6. PILOT LAUNCH:
Motor boat for transporting pilots to and from a ship.
Should be seaworthy as pilots go out in all weather.
