System Requirements and Installation
Minimum Hardware Requirements

Before you install Power BI Desktop, your system should meet the minimum hardware requirements. They are:

Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2, or later

.NET 4.5

Internet Explorer 9 or later

1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86- or x64-bit processor

At least 1440x900 or 1600x900 (16:9)

Minimum 1 GB space should be available, Recommended available space should be 1.5 GB or more
Steps to Install Power BI Desktop

Here are the steps to install Power BI Desktop on your system.

Open a browser and navigate to the Power


BI page.

Click on the Download Free button and


enter the required details.

Click the Get Started button.

Locate the installed file and run it.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
