Hence for a stacking area of 1500 vol a total of 3 racks are provided

NOTE: But for a stacking area of 3 to 5 Mt width a combined stacking and reading area can be

A reading for a capacity of 20 readers at an instance is taken

An area of 2.33 sq.mt (taken avg. as 2 sq.mt) per person

Thereby a total of approx. 47 sq.mt of reading space is provided

NOTE:

1. the seating is provided only along one side of the tables


2. 1m of circulation space is proved between wall and table
3. 1.2m of circulation space between induvial rows of table are provided
4. A centre aisle of 3.24m is provided as circulation

Librarian: 30 sq.mt

Hence a total of 123 sq.mt is required for a library of 1500 volumes and reader capacity of 20
individuals.

and Time Saver Standards for Interior Design and Space Planning.)

NOTE: the specifics is for a residential area where toilet block is not generally used at night

Public toilets for a crowd of 200 adults and children

Water closet no. 3 (3.24 sq.mt total cubical area coverage)

Urinal no. 2 (0.9 sq.mt total area coverage)

NOTE: The distance between the centre of the urinal to a side wall is 0.45m

The c/c distance between two fixtures is 0.6m

Each urinal is 0.3m wide and 0.3m deep

Wash basin. 5 (2 sq.mt total area coverage)

NOTE: The distance between the centre of the wash basin to the side wall is 0.45m

The c/c distance between two fixtures is approx. 0.6m

a passage width of 2m is provided between the cubicle and wash counter.

Female – (18 sq.mt)

Public toilets for a crowd of 200 adults and children

Water closet. 8 (8.64 sq.mt total cubical area coverage)

Wash basin. 8 (2.88 sq.mt total area)

Powder room: feeding / changing room – 1

Differently abled toilet: 2.32 sq.mt

0.6 to 0.9 sq.mt per induvial


Hence for a seating capacity of 150 individuals a seating space of 100 sq.mt

Stage area: 15 sq.mt (medium sized)

 Kiosk (tea stall): 5 sq.mt
