GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Outline the use of hand tools in electrical installation field. In addition they will be able to store
hand tools correctly and undertake general maintenance of hand tools.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Knowledge
Define terms: hand tools, equipment and specialty tools” related to the electrical industry.
State three(3)differences between tools and equipment based on PowerPoint presentation
Classify electrical tools into the following:
Give at least four (4) examples of the following classifications of tools:
Give at least five (5) examples of common hand tools used in electrical installation.
State at least three(3) types of materials from which most electrical tools are made
State two (2) importance of using high quality tools in performing electrical installation jobs.
Explain two (2) benefits of choosing the right tool for the correct job.
State two benefits of checking tools for faults before, during and after usage.
Define terms: maintenance and maintenance schedule.
Explain the importance of caring and maintain hand tools.
Explain the importance of making regular checks/tests on tools as part of the maintenance
procedures.
