1, Explain the main functions of child and adolescent literature regarding

A. Attracting the attention of the reader

- When attracting the attention of the reader ,as well as their teacher is there to guide them and
provides child and adolescent with considerable reading enjoyment, assist child and adolescent in
their development of their self, also allows child and adolescent to explore life experiences of the
outside world or the reality of life.

B. Experiencing various complexities of life

- When we say experiencing various complexities of life through literature is very much
important and also a safe way for the reader to gain and learn more knowledge of new experiences
that could be plays an important role on their lives in the future. Literature entertains and educates us.
It can teach us about the past, help us understand the present and empower us to create the future.
The greatest literature goes still further. It reveals not only insights of individual and social character
but of the character of life itself.

2, Why Child and Adult Literature is indispensable in schools ?

- Child and Adult Literature is indispensable in schools because it is an ever-growing, hugely


popular genre that plays an immensely important part in teenage lives and especially in schools. This
combined with the exploration of emotions that feature in our everyday lives has meant that Child and
Adult Literature is a fantastic tool to discover the new experiences that have our world that we live in.
By engaging with Child and Adult Literature they become exposed to characters that they may not
have come across in real life. The readers become aware and can identify similarities between
themselves and characters of others which gives the reader comfort to know that they are not alone in
their situation. Also in Young adults they generally feel the need to belong, but through this Child and
Adult Literature, they can be reassured that being different is not abnormal and that they can accept
themselves as they are belong. This is why Child and Adult Literature is important and relevant, it
mirrors the attitudes, issues and fears of today’s teenagers and guides them through those careless
experiences.

3. How do you evaluate the Children’s and Young Adult literature in terms of content?

- Do the illustrations provide context to the text?


- What are the settings of the story? Are these settings accurately and respectfully depicted?
- What lessons are learned by the characters? Are these lessons universal?
- Which genders, ethnicity, and culture are represented and how are they depicted?
- Will students find the storyline interesting?
- How is the story structured?

4. Do you agree that topics in Literature must always be related to their experiences of child and adult
literature? Why?

- Yes, I agree that topics in Literature must always be related to their experiences of child and
adult literature because in this way they easily express their own thoughts based on what they are
reading. Also to have the reader a considerable reading enjoyment. Because Literature gives us a
detailed preview of human experiences, allowing us to connect on basic levels of desire and emotion
that we get when we start reading. Also literature allows us to interpret our own life and emotions and
find ways to relate to the story so we in turn can reflect. It is also a form of entertainment and allows
people to use their imagination to visualize the story within their own mind.
5. Discuss the importance of child literature in developing their personality based in your own understanding..

- Importance of child literature in developing their personality is children’s literature helps


students develop emotional intelligence especially in stories they have the power to promote emotional
and moral development. Encourages students to think deeper about their own feelings. Encourages
creativity. The imaginative and original books that encourage students to learn about music and art,
and they are engaging in their design and interactivity this can promotes the development of students’
internal imaginations. The children’s literature can help them develop into caring, intelligent, and
friendly people. Can foster social development by encouraging students to accept other people and
their differences .It is important in presenting situations that might encourage students to become more
open-minded to different types of families and understand that love is the most important thing in a
family. Children’s literature can also encourage students to develop relationships with people,
encouraging social understanding.
