My Philosophy In Life

Freedom is decision-making, Freedom is our precious gift from God and everyone has freedom but did
we used it appropriately? Did we value our freedom and will right? Good day, I’m Mary Eden R. Padua
and here is my philosophy in life… let me start with a quote from the Ancient Greek Philosopher
Epictetus — “Freedom is the right to live as we wish” this quote was always been in my mind, it says
that freedom is our right to live in anywhere that we want or dreamed of. As we start discussing the
lesson:5 freedom I have a realization that freedom not only means that we humans are truly free
instead we are given this freedom to do the right thing and I just realized that I’m not using my freedom
and will correctly in every situation in my life. There is so many topics in our lesson 5: freedom but the
only topic that caught my attention is the Self-freedom which is one of the type of freedom and this
fascinates me to come up in my own philosophy in life because I know myself that I’m a very shy person
and this lesson really has a great impact on me, this taught me to be me… to be who I am as a human
person that is free to do the right thing and I’m starting to apply it in my daily life. My philosophy in life
is that “you need to make a good decision to come up with good consequences” this means that in
every action that we do we need to think wise and be responsible on whatever the consequences will be
because that is our choice. In discussing the interior treats to freedom… I noticed that fear was my
greatest enemy in terms of applying my freedom and will correctly because I noticed that when I make a
decision I always have a doubt on what I was going to choose what to do. In the book the “Light in the
heart” written by Roy T. Bennet, he said that “Fear robs you of your freedom to make the right choice in
life that can bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. On the other side of fear,
lies freedom. If you want to grow, you need to be brave and take risks, If you’re not uncomfortable
you’re not growing”. I strongly believed on that because as I experienced fear was always present in my
life… especially in decision-making. This plays a significant role on me as I focus my philosophy in life in
applying the will and freedom correctly to help me prosper in life and to change me as a human person,
as what Tom Ziglar says “Change starts with you, but it doesn’t start until you do”.
