METHOD STATEMENT
1 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this method of statement is to explain the method of Coring the Reinforced
concrete by following the best safe & technical practise.
2 SCOPE
4. Construction Procedure.
Surveying, Marking.
Readiness of power requirements
Setting out the coring device
Coring the concrete.
Grouting the gap + Curing
Removal & disposal of broken concrete
The area for coring shall be marked on the manhole wall external face say 150 mm dia.
The power source shall be drawn from, either a portable generator or welding machine,
the appropriate voltage compatibility between the power source & the coring device
shall be thoroughly checked to avoid failures, hazards due to overvoltage.
Once ensured safe operating voltage, then the connections + earthing shall be done &
the device is ready to operate.
The device (HILTI) shall be properly primed with adequate water prior to coring.
The device shall be firmly set on the stable ground by means of Fischer bolts.
The coring 150 mm dia shall be done horizontally through wall until complete
penetration of the core in to the concrete wall.

METHOD STATEMENT
Once the coring is completed, the drain pipe shall be fixed at the particular level & the
gap between the cored circle & the pipe shall be grouted with non-shrink Conbextra GP.
Sufficient curing shall be ensured for the grouted area.
In the meanwhile, during the tie-in process, proper coordination shall be done with
SABIC E & PM & Affiliate towards blocking the live drain lines(down stream) at the other
ends of the tie-in portion.
HSE Compliance.
The above activities shall be carried out with constant supervision of qualified
experienced Technical team, Safety team & well-trained manpower.
The work permit systems, HSE procedures as per the SABIC system shall be strictly
implemented throughout the job.
