Introductory Message
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator, in helping the learners meet the standards
set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints
in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of the module:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners’ progress while allowing them to manage their own
learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the
tasks included in the module.
Welcome to the Grade 9 Project CAP-LRE Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Prepare
Architectural Job Requiremnts in Technical Drafting 9 (Architectural Working Drawing).
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided
and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the
contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.
This module has the following parts and corresponding icons:

What I Need to Know
This module presents the structural sheets, plumbing sheets and electrical sheets
included in Architectural working drawing. It is organized to guide you in gaining information
to complete the documents needed in house planning.
At the end of this module, you are expected to:
• identify the structural, plumbing, and electrical sheets included in house planning;
• describe the different electrical symbols; and
• determine the common electrical abbreviations
What I Know
Choose it!
Directions: Read the statements carefully. Choose and encircle the letter of the correct
answer.

Check your answer using the answer key. If you got 9 or 10 correct answers,
that means you are competent with the lesson covered by Learning Outcome No.1.
Congratulations! You can move to Learning Outcome No.3.
However, if you got 2 or more incorrect answers, read and study the lesson
thoroughly one more time for you to understand it well and master the skills. Afterwards,
you may prepare and move to the succeeding Learning Outcome.
What’s In
List it!
To accomplish drafting technology works, you need to know the complete content of
architectural working drawing.
Let us recall the different architectural working plans in house planning.
Directions: List down or enumerate at least five plans included in architectural sheets.
PLANS
1. 3.
2. 4.
5.
If you were able to list down all the plans needed for the architectural sheets, it
means that you are highly competent. You remembered the lesson very well.
But if you did not complete the needed plans, that means you need to review the
topic about architectural plans.

Directions: Using different colored pens, collect the drawings/plans inside the maze and
group them according to the sheet they are classified into.
What is It
Architectural Working Drawing
Structural drawing
A type of engineering drawing, is a plan or set of plans and details for how a
building or other structure will be built. Structural drawings are generally prepared by
registered professional engineers, and based on information provided by architectural
drawings.
The following terminologies are used on structural plans. Be familiar with them
and look forward to meeting them.
Sheet # 5 - Foundation plan, Roof Framing Plan, Truss Detail, and Column/Footing/Beam
Schedules
5
• Foundation Plan - A structural excavation plan of footings and walls of a building. It
is the part of the building below the surface of the ground, which is sometimes called
the substructure.
• Roof Framing Plan - A structural framing plan of the roof plan with complete
specifications.
• Truss Detail - A complete structural detail of a common or typical truss of a building
either wooden or steel.
• Column/Footing/Beam Schedule - A complete specification of columns, footings,
and beams in terms of sizes, materials, and quantity.
• Construction Notes - A sub-complete detail of wall footings, lintels, beams, and other
required structural features present in the plan.
• General Notes - A complete specification and legend of structural features presented
in the plan.
Plumbing Drawing
A type of technical drawing, shows the system of piping for fresh water going into
the building and waste going out, both solid and liquid. It also includes fuel gas drawings.

Water System Plan
The drawing of flow of water in the house from main water source. Water coming
from the lavatory, bath tubs and floor drain goes to the main canal while water from the toilet
Septic Tank
It is the depository of human excreta and a drainage reservoir for all washing done
in the kitchen and bathroom. The main section of the septic tank is the digestive chamber
and the leaching well.
Lighting Layout - This is an electrical plan that shows the flow of house lightings
Power & Auxiliary Layout
An electrical plan shows the flow of convenience outlet and other auxiliary outlet in
the floor plan.
