Chewbacca Amigurumi Doll

Pattern by Gina Fiorito, for Electric Bunny Crafts

Materials Needed
Yarn Colors:
Carmel (for body)
Dark Brown, Gray (for costume)

Size F (3.75mm) Crochet Hook

Dog slicker brush
Sewing needle to attach body parts

9mm Safety Eyes (1 pair)

Stitch Marker (or Paper Clip!)
Fiber Filling

A Note on Yarn:
Generally I use Caron Simply Soft for these dolls, but for Chewie I
went with Vanna’s Choice in “Honey.” Vanna’s Choice has more
loft then Caron, so will naturally create a larger doll, which is apt
for Chewie’s larger size!

Finished Size: 5.5-6” / 14-16 cm tall; 2.5” / 6 cm

wide Pattern Notes: This pattern is worked in rounds.
Be sure to move your stitch marker to the
Gauge: 5 stitches = 1” beginning of each round so as not to lose your
place!

Finish brushing the head to create fur all the way
Before placing the eyes, start brushing the head around the head. (The head is the only body
with the dog slicker brush to create the fur. Brush part that will not have a tail).
until you feel happy with the amount of fur
created! Be sure to brush “outwards” from where
you are going to place the eyes, as Chewie’s
hair naturally slicks away from the center of his
face.

At this point it is best to attach the safety eyes. I

placed mine between rows 12-13, with 4 stitches
visible between the edges.
Begin stuffing the head with your fiber filling.

Continue to sc around in remaining 14 sc of Leg 1. SC around each stitch of LEG 2, ending with one last sc
in the same stitch that you used to sc tog when you started the round (15 sts for LEG 2). (30 sts total)

DOLL CONSTRUCTION
STEP 1: Attach body to head using the tail left on the body. It is best to line up the body with R20 of the
head as they have the same amount of stitches (12).

STEP 2: To attach arms, flatten seams and attach to the top of the body, approximately 1” apart.

STEP 3: Slip bag and sash on from the bottom of the doll. Place bag over Chewie’s right hip. Sew sash
into place using Gray yarn to add the “metal” accents.
