CURRENT ISOLATION AMPLIFIER

MODEL 17FM394

DESCRIPTION
The 17FM394 Current Isolation Amplifier, Fig. 1, is
used in applications where it is necessary to maintain up D E F G
to 2000 volts creepage between the amplifier input cir-
cuitry and amplifier output. For typical Off Highway ve-
hicle applications, the input signal will be from a current
shunt placed in the motor armature circuit.

The isolation amplifier is designed to accept the typi-

cal input shunt voltage (100 to 250 mv) and amplify that
to a range of 1 to 20 volts at the output. The panel pro-
vides a total gain which ranges from 10 to 200, depend-
ing on the panel model. See Table 1. DANGER
HIGH
VOLTAGE
NOTE: It is highly recommended that shielded
wire be used to connect the shunt to the Iso
Amp and grounded properly, according to the A B C
applicable system schematic diagram.

Amplifier A1 is the isolation amplifier (see Fig. 2, (test) and Pins C to F, 100 mv will be across R2. The out-
schematic for models A1 through H2). A unity–gain am- put should range from 1 to 10 volts, according to Table 1.
plifier (IC1) serves as an output buffer. Gain is set by se-
lecting RS1 and RS2. The filter module shown in Figs. 3 and 4 must be in-
corporated into Statex systems using the A1 forms of
