Many cultures have observed a link between music and politics,
particularly political expression in song. Anti-establishment or protest themes can be expressed through music, including anti-war songs, yet pro- establishment concepts can also be found in national anthems, patriotic songs, and political campaigns. Many of these songs fall into the category of topical music. As a millennial, I will value and encourage sentimental and classical kundiman and Filipino jazz music by continuing to listen to and support them.
