manufacturer's standard pattern. Fusible alloy element is sealed into bronze
center strut by a stainless steel ball. When the alloy melts at its rated
temperature, the ball is forced upward into center strut, releasing the two
ejectors and operating the sprinkler.
1. Water flow indicators shall be of the paddle flow clamp-on type with vane
projecting into pipe through a hole drilled in pipe, instantly recycling retard,
and adjustable time setting of 30 to 60 seconds. Unit shall be for operation

1. An electrical control unit shall be provided to perform the functions
necessary to operate the detection and FM 200 Fire Suppression System.
3. The control unit shall operate on voltage available on site, unless indicated
otherwise on drawings.
4. The FM-200 control unit shall control circuits to the detectors, time delays,
control heads, manual discharge switches, alarm horns and lights, pressure
switches and other required equipment. All such circuits shall be supervised
so that a visible and audible trouble signal occurs at the control unit should
a fault occur.
5. The control unit shall supervise all FM-200 storage containers against loss
of pressure. A pressure switch shall be located on each container and shall
cause a visible and audible "trouble" alarm signal to the panel.
6. The control unit shall supervise all circuitry for ground fault.
7. This system shall utilize a time delay of 30 seconds to delay the release of
the FM-200 after the control unit has received alarm signals from the
detection circuits. The time delay shall be of solid-state electronic design,
adjustable from 0 to 120 seconds. The timing circuit shall automatically reset
when it is interrupted and restart at the beginning of the cycle when the
interruption is removed.
9. Manual pull stations shall have a cast metal housing with release
configuration to prevent accidental system discharge.
