Nº 5 SEPTEMBER 2006 TB5/Rev6
New Type MP parts can be distinguished from the Type P parts by its “P” suffix. The
Type P pumps are associated with an “X” or “PX” suffix. Refer to section “PART
CHANGES” for these details. Although great care has been taken to make the new
Type MP pump fully interchangeable with the Type P pump, a number of exceptions
concerning the sealing arrangement were unavoidable. This implies that the
purchase of affected new Type MP parts will necessitate the purchase of other related
parts to ensure effective operation. These parts will be supplied in the form of
conversion kits, ensuring the correct combination of parts. This however presents a
financial implication to the users of Type MP pumps. In an effort to limit the additional
cost, the pricing structure of conversion kits will be optimised to benefit both parties.
Refer to tables in section “CONVERSION KITS” for these details.
Current users of the Type P pump will experience a slight change in performance
when converting to the new Type MP wet-end. Refer to Figures 1 - 4 in section
“HYDRAULIC PERFORMANCE CHANGES” for these details. An Exploded View
diagram of the new Type MP is included for information. All technical queries
regarding the new Type MP should be directed at the persons named at the end of
this document.

PART CHANGES
Part Numbers - Part Numbers of most components specific to the Type MP Pumps
have been changed to rationalise the part numbering system.
Most of these parts incorporate a ‘P’ suffix in the new part number, as indicated in the
following tables.
Interchangeability of Parts - Most new component parts of the Type MP Pumps are
fully interchangeable with the corresponding component parts of the old Type P
Pump, despite having different Part Numbers.
New Pumps - A new Type MP Pump leaving the factory will have the following part
changes compared to the current Type P Pump:
Table 1: 50C-MP - Parts having different Part Numbers, and the differences
in form.
