MANGO

Mango is a sort of fruit is produced by large evergreen tropical tree. The latin name for the is
Mangifera Indica. The fruit mostly has an oval shape. Its skin is smooth. The young mango
looks green and when it gets ripe. It becomes yellowish or reddish. It has flesh and seed in
side. When the fruit gets ripe,the flesh turns yellow or orange.
There are many varieties of mangoes,popular especially in Indonesia,namely:
gadung,manalagi,arum manis, madu,golek,etc. They have differences in size,taste,color and
shape. Golek mango is the longest in shape and taste quite sour when it is not relly ripe.
Gadung mango has its popularity because it taste sweet and deliciuos. Most green and unripe
mangoes can be used for one of the ingredients of "rujak".
Mango trees are usually planted in front of houses. However,some farmer also grow them in
their fields for commercial purposes. Cultivating mango is not too difficult. It can be planted
by a seed,transplantation,grafting,and many other methods.
To get goot crops,fertilizer is necessary. The tree usually produces some fruits after about two
years. It has certain season in a year blooming and fruiting.

Mango

Mango fruit including stone fruit group (drupa) are fleshy, with a size and shape that is highly
variable depending on the kinds, ranging from spherical (eg mango gedong), oval (yam,
indramayu, arumanis) to elongated oval (mango puppet) . Long pieces of approximately 2.5
to 30 cm. At the end of the fruit, there is a section called the pointed beak. On top of there
beak and curved sections are called sinuses, which continued into the abdomen.

Fruit rather thick skin speckled gland; green, yellowish or reddish when ripe. Meat fruit when
ripe red orange, yellow or beige, or not stringy, sweet to sour with plenty of water and
smelled strongly to weak. Seeds are white, flattened elongated closed endokarp thick, woody
and fibrous. The seed consists of two pieces; There are monoembrional and some are
poliembrional

taste of mango are sweet and sometimes it is little sour. Mangoes are delicious food which is
rich of vitamin A and C.

Mangoes have many shapes sometime it is oval, round or like kidney. It is base from the
variety. Mangoes skins are smooth. Usually mangoes colors are green or yellow. Mangoes
have a big hard inner pit. Mangoes pulps are juicy and have yellow color.

Mangoes are eaten fresh or we can make it as many variety of food such as preserve, juice or
you may add in a cake.
Mangoes are cultivates about 4000 years ago in India and the Indonesian archipelago. But,
now we can find Mangoes in the many tropical country in this world it is because in the end
of 1700’s and 1800’s European explores brought mangoes from India to the other tropical
country.
