IAS 32 outlines the classification and presentation of financial instruments. It distinguishes between financial assets and liabilities, and equity instruments. Financial assets and liabilities are contractual rights or obligations to receive or deliver cash or another financial asset. Equity instruments provide evidence of residual interest in the assets of an entity after deducting all its liabilities.
