    The order of draw for blood collection tubes is as follows: 1. Sterile tubes for blood cultures are collected first using sterile technique. 2. Light blue tubes containing sodium citrate are collected second for coagulation tests. 3. Red-top tubes containing a clot activator are collected third for chemistry tests and must be allowed to clot before centrifugation. 4. Green-top tubes containing heparin are collected fourth for rapid chemistry tests.
