Composer Notes
I rarely write an entire lyric without having an idea about what to do with it musically!
However, such was the case with “We Adore.” Ultimately, upon considering an array of my
favorite composers, I decided to e-mail it to the amazing Scott Krippayne. Within a day,
Scott sent me a demo of the most beautiful and appropriate music for the lyric.
My initial concept for the lyric was based on the well-known Christmas adoration phrase
“Oh come, let us adore him.” I wanted to delve deeper into what it meant, in light of
Advent and Christmas, to truly adore this newborn life, this king and Savior, who would
change the hearts of the entire world for all eternity.
