Intense heat, high humidity, strong sunlight – the
number of possible tests is almost limitless. The
most extreme endurance test, however, is the copper
accelerated salt spray test, or CASS for short. Here,
wheels damaged by simulated stone impacts prior to
the test are then sprayed with an extremely corrosive
solution over a period of several days. They must
