Exercise #1

Write complete sentences to answer the following questions about these places

What is a ….? What can you do in a…?

1. Restaurant: A restaurant is a place where you can eat different types of meals
and plates.

2. Bank: A bank is a place where you can save, borrow and transfer money, ask
for a loan, or cash a check.

3. Drugstore: A drugstore is a place where you can buy medicines, pills, and
health products.

4. Supermarket: A supermarket is a place where you can buy groceries, fruits,


vegetables, meat.

5. Gas station: A gas station is a place where you can buy gasoline, car oil, you
can clean your windshield, and inflate your tires.

My Neighborhood
Fill in the blanks with the name of the places in a city or neighborhood.

In my neighborhood there are many places to go. If I am hungry, I can go to a 1.

restaurant and eat. There is a 2. post office in my neighborhood where I can mail a letter

to my grandmother. There is a 3. supermarket to go shopping, a 4. bakery where I can

buy a birthday cake too! If I want to read some books or do my homework, I can go to

the 5. library. I go to the 6. movie theater with my friends to watch a movie. My

favorite place is the 7. bank because I can get money there! There is an 8. internet cafe

in my neighborhood, my big brother goes there to surf the internet or play computer

games.
