ACTIVITY 2
Study the structure of your house and answer the following questions.
1. Do you think your house is fire resistant or not? Yes, or no? Explain your answer.
- It is dependent on the materials that were used in the construction of the building,
however, our house is fire resistant due to the fact that it is constructed of bricks and
hollow blocks.
2. What are the things you would add to improve fire safety in your house?
- Install smoke alarms/detectors in strategic spots around your house, such as the
kitchen, next to bedrooms, and near fireplaces or stoves, to minimize the risk of fire.
Install a smoke alarm on each story of your house, including the basement, to ensure
that you are adequately protected. It is recommended that batteries in smoke detectors
be replaced once a year. Check your alarm twice a year to make sure it is working
properly.
3. What are the things that you need to reduce or remove to make it free from fire
hazards?
- Always check your smoke alarms, inspect all of your heating sources, keep the stove
and oven clean, don't leave the kitchen, keep the dryer clean, properly store flammable
products and use caution when using candles.
4. If there is a part of your house that needs restructuring, what would it be? Explain
your answer.
- When a corporation is partly dismantled and reorganized with the goal of making it
more efficient and hence more lucrative, this is referred to as restructuring in corporate
management.
