TO DEVELOP INTEREST OF STUDENTS IN


LEARNING MATHEMATICS

Topic name: Chapter-5 Measures of Lines


and Angles
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
* Measure of a line Segment
* Comparing by Instrument
* Measure of an Angle
* The Protractor, Intersecting Line,Parallel
lines
Learning Outcomes
* Students will learn and
know about the ability to: measures of line
segments.
* Students will think and
discuss and understand how to compare line
segments using instruments ruler and divider.
* Students will understand
the angle concept and identifies the different
types of angles.
* Students should compare
and Estimate the type of given angle.
* Students will identify the
intersecting, perpendicular and parallel lines.
RESOURCES : TEACHINGS AIDS
Models, charts, white board,
scale,objects in the classroom eg: Box,our
hands(arms),Knees for comparing angles, clock
and watch.

SPECIAL OBJECTIVE :
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE
Recall Prior knowledge by asking Questions.
* What is the line?
*How can you find any angle?
*How can we write line segment of AB=4cm
*How we can compare usings line segment of
length and measures of angles by
looking(observation the objects)
Students must have at least general familiarity
with lines,line segment,ray, angle transversal
MOTIVATION INTRODUCTION:
* Announcement of Chapter Name*
*Teacher: should ask question related concept
*Students should listen and write carefully and
do it in a Classwork notebook from the
whiteboard.

*KEYCONCEPTS*
Students note down in classwork :
1) A line segment is a part of a line with two
endpoints.
2) We compare two line segments by using
instruments.
3) The unit of measuring length is 1
centimeter(1cm).;1cm=10mm.

Teaching points:-
● An interactive discussion about ruler, divider
and protractor, using these instruments to
compare two line segments by simple
observation.
● From Textbook Discuss with students:Do
These,Try these and think,discuss and
write.
● Explain Examples from textbook given
sums in classroom. Involved student
participation.
Mind map/ Activity by the teacher: showing
instruments to compare and draw line
segments using ruler or divider
STUDENT ACTIVITY:
Do activity related concepts i.e., Types of angle
and How to measure Angles and with colour
sheets,with using sticks.

Activity method & Brainstorming:-


1) All students participate actively,collaborate
and to know about types of angles.
*Using colour sheet cut it has circle and
showing the angles
{reflex,straight,acute,obtuse} degrees
(360,180;90;130,40)
* students should know what types of angles
and degrees.
*Involve as two groups of whole class
participation.
*Ask brainstorming questions.on the topic done

RECAPITULATION & EVALUATION: Identify


which angles are
Acute angle,Right angle,Obtuse angle, Reflex
angle etc
ASSIGNMENT : Asking children to do exercise
sums .and examples from textbook
HOMEWORK: Students should do from
Textbook Exercise Question in Homework
And from the Practice book refer to the
resource book.
LIFE SKILLS : Observation thing in your home
and in school object and your surroundings
object which we are using in daily routine life.
