La Paz

Brgy. La Paz is one of the remote bgry. in Guimaras with a total population of: 2,243. It is

located in the southern part of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

The primary source of livelihood of barangay La Paz is farming and fishing. However, due to

seasonal production of agricultural products and fish catch and unexpected drop in the wholesale

and retail price of rice and corn, as well as fish, increase in the price of goods and other sales in

the market, no establishment to provide job opportunities, economic difficulties are experienced

in the community, especially nowadays in the times of pandemic. The barangay statistic of

barangay La Paz indicates a higher rate of indigent families thus no stable or lack of income is

the main problem of the community. There are existing people’s organization in the community

that caters tourist coming in the barangay, and majority of the population are member of the

organization, thus, the training will benefit the community as a whole.

In accordance with this, “Food Production and Food Safety Training” will create a very

good impact in the community of Brgy. La Paz particularly in providing a considerable increase

in their income and uplifting their living situation and is a best training need to be conducted in

the community. The implementation of the training is expected to reduce the indigent families of

Barangay La Paz.
