COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course deals with the study of structures and functions of the different parts of the human body considering the gross external appearance of the body as well as the internal body organization. The course is an integration of the basic principles of Chemistry, Microbiology and Pathology that is applicable to the study of the human body systems. General Objectives 1. Describe the structures and relative location of the different parts of the human body. 2. Define the basic life processes and list the organs that contribute to each process. 3. Appreciate the relevance of anatomy and physiology to health-related professions. 4. Realize how body structures work and happen when they dont. 5. Relate malfunctioning organ/system to the occurrence of disease. 6. Locate the various organs. Muscle groups and bones of human. Course Outline PRELIM Objectives: 1. Define anatomy and physiology 2. Define homeostasis, and explain how control, communication and self-regulation relate to it. 3. Define the human anatomical position. 4. Define anatomical terms pertaining to position, planes and section. 4 Hours Subject Matter 1.Definition and explanation of understanding there relationship between structure and function 2.
