    LOTUS VALLEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL NOIDA

    ENGLISH PROJECT WORK

    Dear parents
    CBSE, in its most recent curriculum adjustment has introduced Project Work in English Core
    for the session of 2022-23. This shall have a 10 Mark weightage in total.
    10 MARKS – 5 PROJECT WORK + 5 VIVA-VOCE
    Out of ten marks allotted for the term, 5 marks will be allotted for the project report/script
    /essay / art work / illustration etc. and 5 for the viva.

    DATE FOR FILE SUBMISSION- 15 JULY 2022

    PROJECT OUTLINE

    The English Project is inter-disciplinary and should comprise illustrations or art work. The
    topics for the same have been chosen from the prescribed NCERT text books. You should
    choose one of the following suggested topics as listed below and prepare a report on your
    findings and analysis in 800 – 1000 words (hand-written). A viva will be conducted based on
    the written report.

    The following are the options-

    1. Choose an issue that has provoked a controversy like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy or the
    Narmada Dam Project in which the lives of the poor have been affected. A
    PROJECT FILE must be made on the same including the following:
     Find out the facts of the case.
     Present your arguments.
     Suggest a possible settlement.
     A self- composed poem on the theme of ‘Biodiversity’ in 15 – 20 lines and
    give it a suitable title.

    2. Film production today has come a long way from the early days of the Gemini
    Studios (Refer to Poets and Pancakes- Flamingo). Prepare a REPORT in 800-1000
    words highlighting the major advancements which have been made in the film
    technology. For example: shorter shots, changing light etc. Make a CARTOON
    STRIP with satirical comments on human foibles as portrayed in the motion pictures.

    3. Success is a relative concept and it is differently defined for each person you
    encounter.
    If you have encountered any personality who has done something worth admiring in
    the field of science & technology, environment, innovative start –ups etc., prepare a
    QUESTIONNAIRE and conduct an INTERVIEW of that personality. Write a
    REPORT on questioning and information gathering techniques in 800 – 1000 words.

    4. Social paradox is a pervasive continuing dilemma between incompatible yet


    independent activities between regulators and the regulated). This goes beyond the
    usual idea of conflict or game theory...social paradox forms a ‘wicked’ class of
    challenges that cannot that cannot be finally solved – ‘at best they are resolved, over
    and over again.’
    Prepare a REPORT in 800 – 1000 words on your observations of the paradoxes in
    the society we live in.

    and academic accomplishment.

    Page 12 - List of Resources / Bibliography.
