b). Recognize the Equipment’s and Facilities.

Terminologies:
Arnis- Lit. “harnass,” terms used in the Northern Philippines for FMA, synonymous with
the middle- Philippines term, “escrima,” or the southern term, “kali”

ANYO (Art of Forms), the proving certificate of truly skilled Arnisador. Anyo is the way
of nothingness. Literally, Anyo translates to form, which could stand for just about
anything. In Modern Arnis, Anyo is the application of all styles learned throughout one's
training and is performed with a specific weapon (i.e. cane, dagger, hands) to show the
flow of that form. Anyo requires certain proficiency of beat, tempo, timing, agility, and
most of all, diwang panlaban (fighting spirit).

Redonda- Continuous drill employing two batons continuously.

Redondo- A circular power- strike.

Rompida- and upward and downward slash or strike delivered in an x pattern.

Equipment’s:

Batons, or Arnis sticks, is the most basic weapon

used in the Arnis. It is made from rattan that doesn’t
shred like wood and is by far more durable. Each
padded stick shall be properly foam cushioned and
shall have a maximum grip diameter of not more
than 3.81 cm. (1 1/2 inch) and lengthof 76.20 cm
(30 inches for men and women). The length of

Padded Sticks are the ideal weapon for the duelo.
They are made of a tough internal assembly, which is
designed to take a series of hard hits; foam padding to
prevent deformation from gripping; and a high-grade
vinyl cover for a comfortable and easy grip.

ESPADA Y DAGA
Daga is knife or dagger. It is mainly used in close range
combat as you need to get too close to hurt your enemy.
This is a rather difficult weapon to use, since you will have
to dodge your opponent’s attacks from a close distance.

BALISONG
This is a butterfly knife. This knife has two pieces of
handles that attach in the middle and fold to close the
blade. It is a serious weapon that requires a lot of practice.

KARAMBIT
This is an Indo-Malay claw shaped knife that is held by
warriors by inserting the finger into a hole at the top of the
handle.

The Stix Arnis Headgear is a necessity in arnis combat.

Its materials provide vital protection from head strikes,
while maintaining motion capability. It is covered with
high-grade leatherette and vinyl, printed with ethnic art.

The Stix Arnis Body Armor is designed to provide

thorough upper body protection while allowing mobility
and protection. The armor is composed of hard plastic
and vinyl for lightness, increased comfort, and impact
absorption. Lower panels are extended to increase
protective coverage.

The Stix Arnis Arm Guards provide complementary

protection to the other arnis battle gear. They were
designed not only for protection, but also for comfort
and practicality. They can be used for both upper arm
and forearm protection. The guards are covered with
cool-tech material for comfort and vinyl printed with
ethnic art.

The Stix Arnis Hand Gloves serve as a protection

from strikes as the stick is held in hand. Its design and
structure further ensure that a stable grip is
maintained.

The Male Groin Guard has padding for the lower

abdomen and a special contoured groin cup to
provide complete protection to the groin area. The
Male Groin Guard is kept in place by a dual-velcro
strap, which ensures comfort and ease in wearing.

The Female Protector is composed of lightweight

padding for protection to the groin area. The Female
