LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICS

DURATION : 3 SESSIONS
DATE : SEPTEMBER 4-5, 8

I. INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES
A. Distinguish contact forces from noncontact forces through examples
B. Identify the basic forces in nature
C. Describe when a system of forces is said to be concurrent and illustrate this with
examples
D. Combine forces acting simultaneously at a point
E. Resolve a single force into its rectangular component forces

II. LEARNING TASKS

A. Topic
Forces and Interaction
Composition and Resolution of Forces
B. Concept
1. Prior Knowledge
a. Forces always cause motion.
b. Falling objects are hold by the gravitational force.
c. Magnet attracts metal.
d. All matter is made up of atoms and every atom has proton, electron and
neutron.
e. Force is a vector quantity.
f. Methods in getting the resultant vector
2. New Knowledge
a. Force does not always move an object.
b. A combination of forces may just balance one another and the object on
which they act remains stationary.
c. Magnetic force and electrical force are combined as electromagnetic force.
d. Force, like displacement is a vector quantity.

3. References

4. Materials
chalk and board, calculator, visual aids

5. Skills
Defining, Inferring, Comparing, Differentiating, Analyzing, Solving

6. Values
Unity towards success, patience
III. LEARNING STRATEGIES
A. Classroom Routine
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance

B. Introduction
Review the vector quantities and the methods used to get the resultant vector.
C. Interaction
1. What is force? Differentiate contact forces and long-range forces. Cite an
example for each type. What are the four fundamental forces of nature? How do
these forces interact? What are concurrent forces? How do composition of forces
and resolution of forces differ? How we can obtain the maximum resultant?

2. Problems about Composition and Resolution of Forces

D. Integration
1. Generalization
How do we define resultant force? What are ways in getting it?

. 2. Application
Let the students think of the situation where cooperation of members is a
must. Ask the students to act out these situations. Relate these to forces.

3. Valuing
Unity/Cooperation of every member to achieve the goal

4. Evaluation
Exercise 2.8 Composition of Forces
Exercise 2.9 Resolution of Forces

IV. ASSIGNMENT
Answer problems 1 and 2 on page 63.

LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICS

DURATION : 2 SESSIONS
DATE : SEPTEMBER 16-17

I. INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES
A. Describe the state of equilibrium
B. Define and find the equilibrant force of a force or forces acting on a body
C. Describe and illustrate parallel forces

II. LEARNING TASKS

A. Topic
Equilibrant Force
Parallel Forces
B. Concept
1. Prior Knowledge
a. Equilibrium means equality.
b. There are no forces acting on bodies at rest.
c. Parallel lines do not intersect.
d. Concepts in Algebra

2. New Knowledge
a. Equilibrium is a condition where there is no change in the state of motion of a
body.
b. Parallel forces may act on the same body but at different points on the body.
They act in the same or opposite directions.
c. According to the first condition of equilibrium, ∑ Fx and ∑ Fy = 0

2. Checking of Attendance

B. Introduction
Four Pics, One Word. The teacher will show four pictures in a slide, and then
the students will identify the word being described by the four pictures.
C. Interaction
1. What is equilibrium? How equilibrant force acts? What are parallel forces? Cite
a situation showing the action of parallel forces. How we can achieve
equilibrium?

2. Problems about Parallel Forces

D. Integration
1. Generalization
Describe objects in the state of equilibrium. How do parallel forces act?

. 2. Application
