This document is a question paper for the subject DPSC from the Department of Civil Engineering at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Bidar for the academic year 2021-2022.
It contains 4 questions related to analysis and design of prestressed concrete structures. Question 1 and 2 are related to determining principal tension in prestressed concrete beams. Question 3 is about computing bursting force and designing reinforcement in the anchorage zone of a post-tensioned concrete girder. Question 4 asks to design anchorage reinforcement for a post-tensioned concrete beam. The document provides relevant details for each question and specifies the cognitive level, course outcome and marks for each question.

Answer any TWO full questions. 2. Use of IS 1343 :1980 is permitted Question Blooms CO Marks No Question Statement Taxonomy level Q1 A simply supported beam of span 7m is 120 x 220 mm in section. L3,L4 CO4 20 It is pre-stressed with a parabolic cable, which carries an effective pre-stress of 225kN. The cable has a maximum eccentricity of 100 mm at mid span section and minimum eccentricity of 50 mm at the support section. Determine principal tension at 25mm above centroidal fiber in a section, which lie at 0.7m from the left support. The beam carries an all-inclusive load of 12kN/m. OR Q2 A PSC beam 300 mm x 100mm is subjected to a shear force of L3, L4 CO4 20 500kN under working loads near support section. The effective pre -stressing force in the tendon is 800kN.The cable is parabolic with zero eccentricity at support and 3oomm below centriodal axis at midspan. The span of the beam is 12 m. If M20 concrete is used to determine the principal tension in concrete at support section. Q3 The end block of a pre-stressed concrete girder is 200 mm wide L3, L4, L6 CO5 30 by 300 mm deep. The beam is post tensioned by two freyssinet cable of each of 100 mm diameter with their centers located at 75mm from the top and bottom of the beam. The force transmitted by each anchorage being 2000kN. Compute the bursting force and design suitable reinforcements according to Indian standard is 1343 code provisions. Sketch the arrangement of anchorage zone reinforcement. OR Q4 The end block of post tensioned pre-stressed concrete beam L3, L4, L6 CO5 30 300mm x 300mm is subjected to a prestressing force 832.8kN. Anchorage area 11720mm2. Design suitable anchorage reinforcement
