1. How do you find the video presentations?
I find the video presentation helpful in improving Teaching skill, helps in
innovative Teaching. It helps in effectiveness of classroom. It also helps in
improving professional Development and Educational management as well as
enhances Active Learning of teacher Trainees.

2. Are this lesson giving you impact in terms of knowledge on ICT


competency standards which you ought to possess?
Yes, because I have learned about the 7 Domains of ICT Competency Standards
for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher Education, which are, Understanding ICT in
Education, Curriculum and Assessment, Pedagogy, Technology Tools,
Organization and Administration, Teacher Professional Learning and lastly The
Teacher Disposition.

3. What do you mean by standards?


A standard is a repeatable, harmonized, agreed, and documented way of doing
something. Standards contain technical specifications or other precise criteria
designed to be used consistently as a rule, guideline, or definition.

4. Why do we need to follow standards?


Standards are needed to assure safety of products, to ensure that products and
materials are tailored-made for their purpose, promote the interoperability of
products and services, facilitate trade by removing trade barriers, promote
common understanding of a product.

5. Compare and contrast the ICT competency standards for pre-service


teachers and the standards set by the International Society for Technology
in Education (ISTE).
The ICT competency standards at this stage of development address the skills
and proficiencies required for the implementation and maintenance of the
national data architecture and infrastructure across the public sector. While ISTE
Standards for Teachers. ISTE teacher standards hold technology educators to
high requirements. These standards prepare teachers to teach technology and
advanced concepts in the classroom. It also encourages teachers to
communicate with one another for better ideas on how to engage their students.

I have learned that teachers need to be able to help the students become
collaborative, problem-solving, creative learners through using ICT so they will be
effective citizens and members of the workforce. The Framework therefore
addresses all aspects of a teacher's work: Understanding ICT in education. It
also enables teachers to improve their instruction methods and personalize
learning. Schools can benefit from technology by reducing the costs of physical

instructional materials, enhancing educational program efficiency, and making
the best use of teacher time. The main competency areas are “Personal and
Professional Values- Professional Development”, “Knowing the Student”,
“Instructional Process”, “Monitoring and Evaluating Learning and Development”,
“Relationships between the School, Family and Society” and “Curriculum and
Content Knowledge”.
2. In your own context, define the following terms and concepts:
2.1 Information and Communication Technology Literacy
ICT literacy is using digital technology, communications tools, and/or
networks to access, manage, integrate, evaluate, and create information
to function in a knowledge society.
2.2 Educational Technology
Educational Technology is the field of study that investigates the
process of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and
evaluating the instructional environment, learning materials, learners,
and the learning process to improve teaching and learning.
2.3 Digital Literacy
Digital literacy means having the skills you need to live, learn, and work
in a society where communication and access to information is
increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social
media, and mobile devices.
2.4 Digital Learning
Digital learning" is a learning method based on the use of new digital
tools to enable learners to learn in a different way, whether it be face-to-
face, distance learning (asynchronous or synchronous) or blended
learning.
2.5 On-line digital tools and apps
Online Digital tools and Apps. • tools and applications that can be
downloaded to gather information and communicate with associates. •it
is facilitated using internet connectivity like zoom, google meet, skype.
and others for meetings, video conferencing, and online classes.
2.6 Off-line digital tools and apps
Offline Digital tools and Apps. • these are software applications and
tools that could still work and. function in the absence of internet
connection.
2.7 Instructional technology
Instructional technology is the use of a variety of digital technology such
as the internet, web-based applications, computer devices, online
curriculum and more to facilitate and enhance student learning in the
classroom.
2.8 Software
Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate
computers and execute specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware,
which describes the physical aspects of a computer. Software is a
generic term used to refer to applications, scripts and programs that run
on a device.
2.9 World Wide Web (www)

The World Wide Web—commonly referred to as WWW, W3, or the Web
—is an interconnected system of public webpages accessible through
the Internet. The Web is not the same as the Internet: The Web is one of
many applications built on top of the Internet.
2.10 Internet
The Internet, sometimes called simply "the Net," is a worldwide system
of computer networks -- a network of networks in which users at any one
computer can, if they have permission, get information from any other
computer (and sometimes talk directly to users at other computers).
2.11 Webquest
WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which students get all
information from the web. Teachers provide their students with the
documents that include links to websites to use the information,
according to the activity.
2.12 Blog
A blog (a truncation of "weblog") is a discussion or informational website
published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal
diary-style text entries (posts). Posts are typically displayed in reverse
chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top
of the web page.
2.13 Vlog
Vlogs, short of “video blogs” are simply video versions of blogs. The aim
here is sharing video content and educating the audience or giving them
an insight into the daily life of a certain personality.
2.14 Goggle Apps
Google Apps is a Web-based and collaborative Software as a Service
(SaaS) solution that customizes the proprietary Google platform and
brand for businesses of all sizes, including large enterprises.
2.15 Webquest
WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which students get all
information from the web. Teachers provide their students with the
documents that include links to websites to use the information,
according to the activity.
2.16 Flipped classroom
In a flipped classroom, the instruction is delivered online, outside of
class. Video lectures may be online or may be provided on a DVD or a
thumb drive. Some flipped models include communicating with
classmates and the teacher via online discussions.
2.17 Wiki
A wiki is a site that is designed for groups of people to quickly capture
and share ideas by creating simple pages and linking them together.
Your organization can use a wiki for a variety of uses. On a large scale,
you can share large volumes of information in an Enterprise wiki.
2.18 Podcast
A podcast is a collection or series of digital audio files that are made
available for downloading or listening via the Internet. Each individual
audio recording is known as a podcast episode. Podcasts are typically

hosted by an individual or individuals who lead a conversation, share
stories, or report the news.

2.19 Facebook
Facebook is a website which allows users, who sign-up for free profiles,
to connect with friends, work colleagues or people they don't know,
online. It allows users to share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as
well as their own thoughts and opinions with however many people they
like.
