System Start

1. Push the VCI MAIN POWER switch (a) at the


Video Control Insert (VCI).
2. Push the PAX SYS switch (b) at the VCI.
The system will take approximately 15 minutes to
become fully operational.
Do not turn on entertainment services until the
15 minute warm up is complete.

Access Entertainment Menu

1. Touch the Entertainment button (a) and enter


the password 1204.

The system may take a couple of seconds to


respond to a selection.

Flight Information
Verify that flight information received from the aircraft is
complete and accurate. Edit as required. Entertainment
menu selections are disabled until flight information is
confirmed.

1. If any flight information field (a) is blank or must be


changed, touch it and use the onscreen keyboard to
enter or change information.
2. When all flight information is complete and
accurate, touch the DONE button (b) to finish.

Once the DONE button is touched, flight


information can not be changed without
closing the flight (see Close Flight).

Boarding Music
Play music over the cabin speakers.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Boarding Music


buttons.
2. Select music from the available choices (a).
3. Touch the Play button (b).
4. Adjust cabin speaker volume (c) as necessary.

Start Entertainment Services


Turn on in-seat entertainment and the moving map for the
passengers.

1. Touch the ENT Services button (a).


2. Start entertainment services by touching each
button (b) individually or use the All Services
On/Off button (c).
3. To stop entertainment services, touch each
button individually or touch the All Services
On/Off button.

Each entertainment service must be turned on


for passengers to access it at the seats.

Never use the Reset All Services button to


fix problems with individual seats.
Entertainment services will be stopped at ALL
SEATS.
See Seat Reset for individual seat faults.

Video Announcement
Play the safety video and other announcements on all
overhead and seat screens in the selected class.
Entertainment is paused at all seats in the selected class
during the announcement. Audio is played over cabin
speakers and passenger headsets.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Video


Announcement buttons.
2. Touch the class (a) where the video is to be
played. Touch the All Classes button to select
all classes at once.
3. Select a video (b).
Optional: You may preview the video with
the Source Control buttons (c). Stop
preview and select the video again prior to
step 4.
4. Touch the VA On button (d).
Adjust cabin speaker or crew volume (e) as
necessary.
5. To stop the video announcement, touch the VA
Off button (d).

Pre-Recorded Announcements
Play announcements over the cabin speakers.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/PRAM buttons.


2. Select one or more announcements (a) to play.
If multiple announcements are selected, they will
play in the order listed in the Details field (b).
3. Touch the Play button (c). Announcements stop
automatically when complete.
4. Adjust cabin speaker volume (d) as necessary.

Overhead Video
Play a video source on wall mounted displays.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Overhead Video


buttons.
2. Touch the Economy Class in the LOPA (a).
Overhead Video plays on the Economy class wall
mounted displays only.
3. Touch the Video Selection button in the Source
Select (b).
4. Touch the PLAY button to preview the video (c).

Notes: If you preview a video, you must stop the


video, reselect it, then restart from the beginning
when you are ready to show the video in the cabin. If
you do not do this procedure, the video will start in
the cabin at the point that you were at in the
preview.

5. To start the video in the cabin, touch the OH On.


Touch the OH Off to stop the video in the cabin
(d).

Camera Control
Play the landscape camera on wall mounted displays and
for display to the passengers.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Camera Control


buttons.
2. Select a camera view (b).
Forward view on the ground and
Downward view in flight.
3. Adjust Zoom Control as needed. (b).

Map Control
Settings on this screen should not require modification. If
you need to disable the moving map for security reasons,
do so from the ENT Services screen.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Map Control


buttons.
2. If the 3D Maps application freezes or otherwise
malfunctions at all passenger seats, it can be
reset by touching the Reset 3D Maps button (a).
Reset takes only a few seconds.

Video Override
Video Override is used to force video to all
passenger displays and all wall mounted displays in
the cabin.
The passenger selects associated audio (if
applicable) using the PCU. All entertainment will be
overridden or interrupted when Video Override is
the active source.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Video Override


buttons.
2. Touch the class (a) where the video is to be
played. Touch the All Classes button to select
all classes at once.
3. Select a video (b).
Optional: You may preview the video with
the Source Control buttons (c). Stop
preview and select the video again prior to
step 4.
4. Touch the Override On button (d).
5. To stop the video announcement, touch the VA
Off button (d).

Overhead Control
Overhead Control is used to display the 3D Maps
or Flight Connection information to the wall mounted
displays. There is no associated audio, and viewing
of the information is not possible at the seats from
this service.

1. Touch the Cabin Services/Overhead Control


buttons.
2. Touch the 3D Maps or Flight Connection
button from the story boards (a).
3. Touch the Play button to start the storyboard
selection (b).
4. Touch the Stop button to stop the storyboard
selection (b).

Close Flight
Return the system to initial settings for the next flight. All
entertainment services will be stopped.

1. Touch the Logout button in the lower-left corner


of any screen.
2. Touch the Close Flight button (a) and confirm.

Troubleshooting
General Record as much information as
possible about any system faults
and inform maintenance.

Individual passenger For handset-only faults, see

iCMT Frozen: Press and hold both iCMT

Seat Reset
Correct faults at individual seats or a group of adjacent
seats.

1. Touch the System/Seat Control buttons.


2. Touch the class (a) where the faulty seat is
located.
3. Select the faulty seat on the seat selector (b).
You may select more than one seat if
multiple seats show the same problem (icon
color)
4. From the Reset pull-down list (c), select
Display, TPCU, or SEB.
If a Seat Box fault is indicated with Handset
and/or Display, Seat Box has priority for
reset.
5. Touch the Apply button (d).

Read the confirmation text. More than one


passenger may be affected by the reset.
Inform all affected passengers that
entertainment service will be interrupted for up
to 7 minutes.

System Status
No crew action required during normal system operation.
In case of cabin-wide IFE faults that can not be corrected
with individual seat resets, check system status before
shutdown and note any faulty component in the cabin log.
Faults are indicated by a yellow colored box.

System Reset In Flight


System shutdown is not required after each flight.
Leave the system on for maintenance during turnaround.
Shutdown during flight is only to be performed in case of a
cabin-wide system fault.

1. Close the flight.


2. Touch the Logout button from any screen.
3. Touch the Close Flight button on the Flight
Transition screen.

4. Touch the Close Flight button (b).

Flight Transition

5. At the VCI, the PAX SYS switch can be cycled


(off, then on). The system restarts.
It is not necessary to turn off the PC Power
switch on the VCI.
6. The system will take approximately 15 minutes
to become fully operational.
Do not turn on entertainment services
until the 15 minute warm-up is complete.

7. Log in to Entertainment and touch OK to confirm


flight information.
8. Touch the ENT Services button on the main
menu.
9. Touch the All Services On button.
10. Verify return to normal operation in the cabin.
