What is Verigo Access Point - VAP?

The VERIGO Gateway (VAP) is a wireless device

enabling VERIGO recorders to be read
autonomously, in automatic mode and without
human intervention. The information is collected via
a Bluetooth connection established between the VAP
and the VERIGO recorders. The VAP is connected to
the internet either via wifi or via a wired connection
(Ethernet cable).

Hardware features

- RPI 4 B
- Weight & dimensions: 100 x 70 x 30 mm 0.2 kg
- Reading distance: up to 15m with the possibility
of extension via specific antennas (optional)
- The VAP benefits from all the qualifications given
to an RPI4: world registration, CEM / EN
qualifications
- Options: additional antenna, POE

Quick Starter Guide
Step 1: Set up your VAP
What to do with your VAP:
- Plug it.
- Connect it to a WIFI network. You can do so in 2 ways:

• Use a LAN cable (not supplied) and connect to internet access using the Ethernet port of the VAP.
This connection does not require any other manipulation to operate. You can go to Step 2.

• Use a smartphone and detect a new WIFI network named "Verigo Gateway" XXXXX (1). Enter the
password for this network below “Passphrase” (2). Then press Connect.

The WIFI network should appear on your phone screen as soon as the VAP is activated/plugged in
and should disappear once the connection is established between your VAP and the WIFI (3).

Once you have entered a valid password, the Gateway will be connected to the internet from that
moment on, and will soon start receiving information from nearby Pods.

Step 2: Open your Verigo personal account
and Access your collected data on the cloud

What to do on a computer:
1) Go to our website Verigo.io
2) Login
3) Go from "Sessions" to "Admin"

Step 2: Open your Verigo personal account
and Access your collected data

1) Go from "Users" to "Gateways"

2) Select "Add gateway"

Step 2: Open your Verigo personal account
and Access your collected data

This will open a new window:

1) Enter the UUID in the "Gateway UUID" line. The UUID number is provided with the VAP (send by
email and separate mail). Each VAP has a unique identification number (UUID).

2) Assign a name to this VAP by filling in the Gateway Name box.

3) Select an operating mode in the Gateway Mode section (see next page for how to choose the
appropriate mode).

4) Optional: inform the gateway location by filling in the geographical coordinates (latitude and
longitude)

Note: the default operating mode is "Ping only" mode

Step 3: Select the appropriate mode
As soon as VERIGO Pod is within reading distance of the VAP, it connects and transmits information
in 3 modes to choose from:

- Ping Only (default operating mode): Verigo Pods connect with the VAP every 15 minutes and send
immediate temperature
(and humidity if available) information. Pod memory is not read. VAP will then send collected
information to the Verigo Cloud every 20 minutes.

- Full Synch: As soon as Verigo Pod is detected by VAP for the first time, a full sync of the device
memory is done with VAP. Then VAP goes back to Ping Only mode. If Pod remains connected to the
VAP, it will perform a full synchronization every 24 hours. If the device is disconnected from VAP for
more than 30 minutes, full sync of memory will be done as soon as Verigo Pod will be connected
again to the VAP.

- Full Synch & STOP: As soon as Verigo Pod is detected by VAP, a full sync of memory is done. Once
full sync is done, POD is STOPPED. Activation with a smartphone will be required to restart the device.

Step 4: Monitor your data loggers
During Synchronisation, Pods will emit a beep.

It may take 15 to 20 mn before you receive the first information from the Gateway to the Verigo
Cloud.

Once a Verigo Pod is connected to a Gateway, a green dot will appear beside the device name in the
Session list.

Congratulations! Your VAP is set up and operational!

You can follow and monitor your data loggers from a computer or a smartphone through the
app Verigo.io
