RE: METRINITY CHILDREN CORNER PROJECT

Dear Ms./ Mr.

Metrinity Children Corner is pleased to present this proposal for your review. We
look forward to partnering with you to provide an education intervention program for
our vulnerable children with poor background, orphans and from street families
through our project center through our project with the theme ‘Educate a child to
Succeed!’ Metrinity children corner plans to educate over 50 children from
vulnerable families. The objective of Metrinity children corner is to utilize every
available resource to ensure children around Kieni Nyeri County have access to basic
education needs through capacity building activities to achieve knowledge skills,
networks and motivation that will make them aim to have an improved acceptable
living standard and gain human dignity and self-esteem

During the last few years, we have been piloting a program with a small group of
children from poor background and have seen dramatic change in their growth
physically emotionally and academically something that confirmed to us when given
better conditions and education all children will have equal opportunities to compete
fairly in the society.

We have noted that the major problem facing families in the area is lack of basic
education that can propel young children to better educational needs as they are too
poor to afford basic education which is the basic path to fair competition for tertiary
education.

We have seen measurable success when children’s education needs are catered for
and we are now seeking to expand our Metrinity children corner project to address
the needs of all the vulnerable children within Kieni area. Our proposal requests
$10,000 in funding to obtain learning materials beddings clothing and basic meals
for the vulnerable children to enable us manage their day-to-day educational needs.

We appreciate your organization for taking an interest in helping our children have
access to education through our Metrinity children corner program! Please give me a
call at +254714496916 or email [email protected] if you require any further
information or have any questions concerning this proposal.

Thank you,

GRANT PROPOSAL
The Metrinity Children Corner is seeking a grant to;

1. Educate vulnerable and needy children giving them basic education needs like food
clothing shelter and paying their tuition fee to keep them in school like any other
able children.
2. To engage in income generating activities like chicken rearing rabbit rearing and
modern farming to be geared towards sustaining the children welfare.
3. To establish community resource center aimed at facilitating learning for orphan
street children, vulnerable children and open a rescue center to settle and rehabilitate
street children.

Funding in the amount of $15,00 is requested for staff training and to purchase the
required software and hardware for the school’s resource room.

STATEMENT OF NEED;
Metrinity children corner intends to assist over 50 children whom we have
determined to be at risk in their academic life for a variety of reasons including loss
of parents and guardians, learning disabilities, such as attention deficit disorder
(ADD) and dyslexia, or other economic and language-based difficulties.

If these children are not given an opportunity to get access to education they are, as
studies show, more likely to be truant and drop out of school and this will increase
the poverty index in Kieni leading to insecurity and other related challenges.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION;
Metrinity Children Corner project will enable vulnerable children, orphans and street
children get accommodation and their basic education needs catered for.

We will remove children from street families, rehabilitate them feed them and enroll
them in school before reuniting them with their families.

We will ensure each benefiting child gets basic clothing needs meals and appropriate
shelter with the needed parental care and counselling.

We will ensure we make learning interesting to them and help them improve their
reading skills through utilization of computers equipped with scanners and assistive
reading software while at their rooms after normal school routine.
