Introduction-

Nykaa is an Indian e-commerce startup based in Mumbai and started by


Falguni Nayar in 2012. It sells beauty, wellness, and fashion products
through its websites, mobile application and 76 offline stores locations.
It was valued at $85 billion (US$1.1 billion) in 2020, making it India's
first unicorn startup led by a woman. 

It sells both domestically and internationally manufactured goods. The


company transitioned from an online-only to an omnichannel model in
2015, and began selling things other than beauty. currently it is offering
200000 plus products from 2000 plus brands on its platform.

The cosmetics market was worth $1.3 billion in FY2020, and it is


expected to rise at a double-digit CAGR of 16.39% through FY2026,
reaching $2.89 billion

The incredible expansion of the cosmetic sector is due to rising demand


for cosmetic items, primarily among teenagers and young people, as
well as the industry's increasing digitalization, which benefits everyone.

Nykaa is a prominent player in the cosmetics market, with a vast range


of beauty, fashion, and wellness items available to both physical and
digital clients!
HISTORY
Nykaa was formed in 2012 by Falguni Nayar, a former managing
director at Kotak Mahindra Capital Company. It began as an
ecommerce service that curated a selection of beauty and health
products. Nykaa is derived from the Sanskrit word nayaka, which means
"actor" or "one who is in the spotlight."

Nykaa Man, India's first multi-brand internet store for men's grooming,
was launched in 2018. Nykaa Design Studio, which was later renamed
Nykaa Fashion, was the company's first entry into the fashion industry.

Nykaa released Nykaa PRO in 2020. It's a premium membership


programme that gives Nykaa App users exclusive access to professional
beauty products and deals. Nykaa Fashion opened its first store in Delhi
in December 2020, making the fashion industry multichannel.
MISSION AND VISSION
Nykaa's mission is founded on three key principles: selection,
information, and personalization. The organisation is dedicated to
providing the greatest service to its customers in order to assist them in
making the right decisions for their holistic beauty needs.

The mission statement of Naykaa read as:

lifestyle choices that best suit them."
TAGGLINE, SLOGAN AND LOGO
The name 'Nykaa' comes from the Sanskrit word 'nayaka,' which means
'one in the spotlight.'

'Your Beauty, Our Passion' is the company's tagline. Nykaa and Peanut
Butter formed a relationship, which resulted in the creation of a new
slogan, 'Beauty Anytime, Anywhere.'

The logo colour was chosen with consideration because the brand
caters to women, and the colours red and pink ideally depict the
imperfections and brightness of a modern female.
