Health Academy (HA), affiliated with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, developed a

The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (formerly the EMT-Ambulance) is a vital link in the
chain of the healthcare team. It is well-known that the EMT-Basic will provide most prehospital
emergency medical care.

This 12-months program has been benchmarked with multiple international EMT programs. In
which, adapted for relevance, appropriateness, and need for the Saudi Commission for Health
Specialties. It is intended to introduce and prepare the participants for emergency care in both
medical and trauma emergencies in the prehospital settings, which includes but is not limited to
skills necessary to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with ambulance
services or other specialized services.

Emergency Medical Technicians are part of a comprehensive EMS response system under
medical oversight. They can perform essential interventions using equipment typically found in
an ambulance. EMTs are a critical link between the scene of the prehospital field and the health
