3.) Determine how many medians and modes are possible from the given set of data.
Explain your results.

In terms of Median, there are 14 possible medians.

● As we can see the given Class Intervals are in Even numbers of observation. For
grouped data, we cannot give an exact Median, we can only give estimates from
intervals 39-45 and 46-52 these are the possible medians of the set data. They also
have the Highest frequency.

In terms of Mode, there are 2 possible modes.

● Even if there are 3 highest frequencies in the given set of data we can only solve the 2 of
them. The ones that are aligned with the intervals 39-45 and 46-52.

39-45
mo = L.L+ [du (du-dl) ] (i)

mo = 38.5 + [ 6(6-0) ] (7)

mo = 38.5 + (1)(7)

mo = 45.5

46-52
mo = L.L+ [du (du-dl) ] (i)

mo = 38.5 + [ 0(0-5) ] (7)

mo = 38.5 + (0)(7)

mo = 38.5

Therefore the 2 possible modes are 45.5 and 38.5 .
