Loads combinations according to BSCODE 8110 (British standard)

The loads combinations are combinations of load cases for which the structure is designed and
checked.

On this page you can find the loads combinations at serviceability limits states SLS and ultimate
limits states ULS ready for using including the accidental limits states ALS, generated according
to BSCODE 8110 considering the dead loads and varying loads (live, wind and thermal) and
accidental (seismic).

Loads cases considered :

 DL : dead load

 LL : live load

 WL : wind load

 Temp : thermal effect

 SEI : seismic load

See also, on the next pages, the loads combinations according to:

 Eurocode-1 EN 1990

 ACI 318 - 2002   (American standard)

Case where we have : DL & LL & WL

SLS   BSCODE 8110

1) DL + LL
2) DL
3) DL + WL
4) DL + 0.8 LL + 0.8 WL
5) DL + 0.8 LL
6) DL + 0.8 WL

ULS   BSCODE 8110

1) 1.4 DL + 1.6 LL
2) 1.4 DL
3) DL + 1.6 LL
4) 1.4 DL + 1.4 WL
5) DL + 1.4 WL
6) 1.2 DL + 1.2 LL + 1.2 WL
7) DL + 1.2 LL + 1.2 WL

Note
regarding the wind case, you have always to think to consider positive and negative case,
means pressure/suction loading
