    De Colores Tijuana, Mexico Student Leader January 2011-Current Lead a group of students on campus to do service for the El Florido Community on a monthly basis. Help the community by building homes and classrooms. Teach schoolchildren Englis h as well as communicate with them in Spanish. Cultivate a variety of art projects and assignments for children to practice. Vist orphanages in order to donate toys and clothing as well as assist them during free time. Lead group reflections as well as communciate effectively with Campus ministers. Often times responsible for helping the women in the community cook Mexican hom emeals. Lions for Learning Loyola Village Elementary Teacher's Assistant August 2010- June 2011 Assisted teacher with classroom tasks including tutoring students and helping with classwork. Helped students individually as well as in small groups. Formulated test questions for students to review as well as created classroom projects. Deliver lessons on element ary reading, writing, and mathematics. Worked with at risk children on behavior problems. Encouraged academic achievement by utilizing different arts and crafts in classroom lessons to demonstrate understanding. Graded papers and tested students on classroom mat erial. La Puente, California January 2010- August 2010 Personal tutor for sixth grader, three times a week. Assisted in all areas of school work including Math, English, Science, History, etc. Reviewed homework assignments that were brought home until completion. Formulated test questions for upcoming quizzes and exams. Often times tutored child when parent was not home. Occassionally babysat when needed. M.O.R.E. Club Walnut, CA Member September 2004- June 2008 Dedic ated every Wednesday aft ernoon as a reading tutor for first through third graders at Vejar Elementary. Helped students with Reading Comprehensive difficulties develop stronger reading/writing skills. Assigned reading worksheets to students after completion of short novel. Created art projects to correlat e with books read for the week. Took note of improved progress and reported back to teachers and parents.
