SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES

4.1. Description of first aid measures


General recommendations
In case of indisposition or labour injury immediately call a professional health service. Show the pictograms
and H phrases from the label or safety data sheet to a doctor. Inform the doctor on provided first aid. Do not
evoke vomiting in any case. If the affected person vomits, turn him/her on side (position of the head on its
side) in order to prevent suffocating with vomits.
Remove contaminated/soaked clothing and shoes immediately. ATTENTION: Take off contaminated/soaked
clothing to a safe place away from sources of ignition and heat.

Protection of first aid responders


Do not take any action that would create a risk to the rescuer unless suitable training.

Contamination of the skin


Remove contaminated clothing. Contaminated areas of the skin wash thoroughly water with soap. Do not
use solvents. In case of irritation or rash consult a doctor.

Contamination of the eye


Flush contaminated eyes with wide-open eyelids a continuous stream of water for about 15 minutes. In the
case of persistent irritation consult an ophthalmologist.

Inhalation
If exposure, move victim to fresh air. Keep warm and quiet. Consult with doctor. Conscious person placed in
a rest half seated, ensure calm and warm, unconscious person lay in the recovery position.

Ingestion
Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting. In case of occurrence of natural retches, hold
the victim bent forward. Contact with doctor immediately and show product label.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Acute symptoms – irritation of the skin and eyes, with higher concentrations may have impaired balance
and coordination, the state similar to being drunk with arousal, followed by sleepiness.
Delayed symptoms – skin sensitizing for sensible persons
Effects of exposure – no data

SECTION 5: FIREFIGHTING MEASURES

5.1. Extinguishing media


Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powders and foam, water spray, sand for small fires
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: a strong jet of water – risk of fire spreading
and environment contamination

5.2. Special hazards arising from the mixture


The combustion of the product may produce carbon oxides, hydrocarbons, other harmful gases and fumes.
Avoid inhalation of combustion products, may pose a threat to health.

5.3. Advice for fire-fighters: strictly apply the breathing apparatus and protective clothing for fire fighting or
during clean-up work immediately after a fire in an enclosed or poorly ventilated areas.

General: inform about the fire, call the appropriate emergency services. Remove from the endangered area
unauthorized persons, not involved in extinguishing the fire, order evacuation if necessary.

Additional notes: vapours of product form explosive mixtures with air. Vapours are heavier than air,
accumulate at the surface of the earth and lower parts of the rooms. Tanks and packaging which are not
covered by the fire, exposed to fire or high temperature should be cooled by water from a safe distance (risk
of explosion), and if possible removed from the hazardous area. Fire residues and contaminated waters
dispose in according to applicable regulations. Do not introduce contaminated waters into drain.

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures


Use personal protective equipment, especially respiratory protection in case of vapour/fumes/aerosols of
product. Avoid direct contact with releasing product. Avoid breathing vapours.
Inform about the accident, call the appropriate emergency services (e.g. Fire Brigade, Police). Remove from
the hazardous area all persons not taking part in the emergency, order evacuation if necessary.
Remove all ignition sources – extinguish open flame, do not smoke, do not use sparking tools and devices,
eliminate hot surfaces and other sources of heat. Apply precaution measures preventing from electrostatic
discharges.

- Avoid formation and inhalation of product vapors and aerosols during removal
- use well-fitting and fitting safety goggles, protective gloves and protective clothing

6.2. Environmental precautions


Do not allow to enter drains, groundwater, soil and open water courses. Spilled product protect against
spreading using dams or barriers. In case of water contamination inform local authorities.

6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up


In case of container leakage, spillage of the product, protect the source of leak, pour the product into an
empty container or place damaged container in an emergency one. Limit the spread of spill by the
embankment of land, large quantities of liquid pump out. Small amounts of spilled liquid soak up with non-
flammable, absorbent material (sand, diatomite, universal binders, etc.) gather in closed container for
disposal and utilized. Perform clean-up work with adequate ventilation.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

7.1. Precautions for safe handling


Avoid directly contact with product, vapour inhalation, contamination of unprotected skin, eyes. Ensure
adequate ventilation/exhaust in the workplace, prevent the formation of harmful concentrations of vapour in
the air, work in well ventilated areas. Store unused containers tightly closed. Observe good personal hygiene
and wear protective clothing in accordance with information set out in section 8.
Observe the basic rules of hygiene: do not eat, drink or smoke in the workplace. Contaminated clothing
should be immediately replaced with a clean one. Do not allow the product to be spilled, especially on large
body surfaces. Always wash your hands with soap and water after finishing work.
Persons who have contact with the product should be trained in the physical and chemical properties of the
product and the hazards.

Special measures for protection against fire and explosion:


Prevent formation of flammable /explosive concentrations of vapour in the air, eliminate sources of ignition -
don't use open flames, don't smoke, don't use sparking tools and fabrics susceptible to electrification; protect
tanks from heat, install explosion-proof electrical equipment.
At the place of use and storage, ensure easy access to extinguishing agents and emergency equipment (in
the event of fire, spillage, leakage, etc.).

Industrial hygiene
 ensure good ventilation (overall and local exhausted ventilation),
 ensure place for eyes and skin rinsing,
 wash hands with soap and water before eating, smoking and after work,
 immediately remove contaminated clothing,
 use general caution while working with chemical substances.
7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store only in certified, properly labelled, sealed containers in warehouse of flammable liquids, equipped with
ventilation and explosion-proof electrical installation. Protect packaging from heat, direct sun. At the
warehouse observe prohibition of smoking, using open flames and sparking tools. Protect packaging from
risk of mechanical damage. Recommended storage temperature: 0 – 25°C (lower or higher temperatures
can influence on product’s quality). Do not storage with foodstuff.
WARNING: Residues of the product (liquid, vapours) can remain in empty non-cleaned containers; they can
create fire/explosion hazard. Be careful. Non-cleaned containers can not be heated; cut; drilled; polished;
welded; or such actions can not be taken in the neighbourhood.

Personal protection:
a) Respiratory protection – is not necessary under normal conditions with sufficient ventilation, required
during exposure to high concentrations of vapours. Wear mask or respirator completed with the filter type A.
Use autonomous or stationary isolating equipment in the event of oxygen deficiency (levels below 17% vol.)
or when the product concentration exceeds 1% vol.
b) Hand protection – wear protective gloves made of: butyl rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubber,
polyvinylchloride, thickness min. 0,4 – 0,7mm. The Breakthrough Time > 480 min. Material of gloves must be
resistant to the product. As the product is a mixture of several substances, the resistance of material of
gloves can not be calculated in advance and therefore has to be checked before use. From the
manufacturer's advice should be obtained information about the time of the penetration of substances and
such time must be respected. The Breakthrough Time indicated by the manufacturer must exceed the period
during which the product is being used. It is recommended to change gloves and replace them immediately if
you notice any signs of wear, damage (rupture, perforation) or changes in appearance (colour, flexibility,
shape).
c) Eye protection – required safety glasses in a sealed cover (goggles) or full face protection
d) Skin protection – wear protective clothing with coated fabric (e.g. Viton), antistatic, protective footwear
(eg neoprene). For explosive hazard areas use antistatic clothing, gloves and shoes.

ANNEX XVII REACH Restrictions on the manufacture, marketing and use of certain dangerous substances,
mixtures and articles:

Restriction in 1. Shall not be used in:


terms of point 3: -ornamental objects, intended to produce light or colour effects by means of different phases, for example in
ornamental lamps and ashtrays,
-tricks and jokes,
-games for one or more participants, or any object intended to be used as such, even with ornamental aspects.
2. Without prejudice to paragraph 1, substances and preparations which:
-present an aspiration hazard and are labelled with R65, and
-can be used as fuel in decorative lamps, and
-are placed on the market in packaging of a capacity of 15 litres or less, shall not contain a colouring agent, unless
required for fiscal reasons, or perfume or both.
3. Without prejudice to the implementation of other Community provisions relating to the classification, packaging
and labelling of dangerous substances and preparations, the packaging of substances and preparations covered
by paragraph 2, where intended for use in lamps, must be marked legibly and indelibly as follows: “Keep lamps
filled with this liquid out of the reach of children”.
Restriction in 1 Shall not be used on their own or in the form of preparations in aerosol generators that are placed on the market
terms of point 40: for the general public for entertainment and decorative purposes such as the following:
-metallic glitter intended mainly for decoration,
-artificial snow and frost,
-“whoopee” cushions,
-silly string aerosols,
-imitation excrement,
-horn for parties,
-decorative flakes and foams,
-artificial cobwebs,
-stink bombs,
-etc.
2. Without prejudice to the application of other Community provisions on the classification, packaging and labelling
of dangerous substances, the following words must appear legibly and indelibly on the packaging of aerosol
generators referred to above: “For professional users only”.
3. By way of derogation, paragraphs 1 and 2 shall not apply to the aerosol generators referred to in Article 9a of
Council Directive 75/324/EEC of 20 May 1975 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to
aerosol dispensers (4).
4. The articles referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 shall not be placed on the market unless they conform to the
requirements indicated.
