Life is Meaningless
Does life have any purpose or meaning?
We are still thinking about this because of the obvious fact that it has no
meaning.
Life is meaningless
There is not one big cosmic meaning for all. Actually, nothing comes with
“built-in” meaning. All situations, circumstances, things in life are neutral
and devoid of any particular "built-in" meaning. They are neutral props,
symbols. In other words, there is no automatic built-in meaning to anything.
All things are devoid of any meaning, so that you are capable of being the
interpreter of your own reality. Existence is unconditional. You are the one
supplying the conditions, not existence.
If you want to put it in another way you could say, the meaning of life is for
you to give it a specific meaning.
Reality, your physical reality is the product of what you believe. How you
experience any particular situation in life is completely reliant on how you
define your relationship to that situation, to that circumstance, to that
person, to that issue.

Belief is the first cause of manifestation. Any reality that comes into
manifestation, any feeling, any thought, any behavior comes from how you
define it, how you believe it to be true and how you choose to perceive it in
that particular way. That's the first thing that causes manifestation. As soon
as you apply a definition to it, you will start to engender feelings.
You are the only one supplying the limitations and you are the
only one able to change them
The fact is that, the only reason you experience the limitations that you do,
is because you have decided to, for one reason or another. If we become
aware that we put the limitations then we become aware that we can give
ourselves permission to remove them.
The purpose of this life is to be this ‘You’ as fully as you possibly can.
- Bashar -
In the recognition that you have never been this ‘You’ before, and you will
never be this ‘You’ again, this life only has one life to live, the purpose of
this life is to be this ‘You’ as fully as you possibly can. To do what excites
you the most. Ask yourself, “What excites me the most?” And at any given
moment do the most exciting thing that you are capable of doing something
about.

colorlessness, and force some color into it, maybe there is no need for that,
maybe you can just be without a reason. It’s beautiful.
But as you come to terms with this necessary truth, you truly can take an
existential view and live every moment as you please, in gratitude and
choose whatever costume you like.
6
sacredvalleytribe.com
You don't have to learn how to manifest. There is always a reflection. You
don't have to learn how to do it faster. You are already doing it automatically
as fast as you can possible can. It always come down to simply "What do I
believe is true?" That's the only question, because you always believe
something to be true and that's what creates the manifestation you
experience.
State of being
Every time we have a thought, the brain produces chemicals that make us
feel exactly the way we are just thinking. If we are thinking a negative
thought, in a matter of seconds we begin to feel unhappy or negative.
At the moment we begin to "feel" the way we think, we begin to "think" the
way we feel. This cycle is called the "state of being”.
The experience that you call physical reality is literally nothing but a mirror.
It is just a more complex mirror, a multi-dimensional holographic mirror, so
that you don't always recognize all the reflections as you.
Every object, person, place and thing, every situation and every
circumstance is you being reflected back to yourself.
"I will be happy when this happens...". If you stop doing because of waiting
for an expectation... the universe, the mirror will do the same.
You cannot receive what you don't give. Like a mirror, if you see the
reflection frowning, you don’t walk over to the mirror and try to force the
7
sacredvalleytribe.com
reflection to smile. When you want to see the reflection smile you know
what you have to do, you have to smile first. But if you wait for the reflection
to smile first, you will be frowning for the rest of your life.
You are what you believe to be true. You are what you hold within you
about you. Even if it is not true, it is true... for you. So look at what you’re
holding and let it go what is not so good. Because your true essence is a
dynamic force and it has to have something to play with.
You are what you hold about you. What you hold within you... is you. So
change the meaning in all areas you don’t like and rewrite your story.
Remember, In order to get something different from what you already have,
you must release and let go of what you already hold within you.
The biggest challenge for most spiritual seekers is to surrender their self
importance, and see the emptiness of their own personal story. It is your
personal story that you need to awaken from in order to be free.

When our reason establishes or predicts an outcome, in the first place, then
we find right or wrong answers.
The truth is that nothing is really wrong and nothing can ever be wrong.
Wrong is simply not possible. Wrongness is in the eye of the beholder and
nowhere else.
Life is unfolding without reason, without goal, without direction. But the
mind is frightened of this realization. The perception of wrongness is
absolutely critical to the perpetuation of "human drama", as well as the
illusion of separateness.

Naturally operating from the heart
Morality is the set of rules and regulations that you use to navigate through
life when you’re still trying to "steer your ship" rather than let it follow the
flow.
When you flow from the heart, morality is no longer necessary -it’s instantly
obsolete and discarded. Flowing from the heart means breathing, waiting
for unfolding, giving it time and trusting.
“Do we need to fix things into position? No, relax into the moment and let
the universe do the driving. If there were a secret to happiness in life, I’d
say that was it.
10
sacredvalleytribe.com
The way to flow is to observe patterns and move with them. No evaluation
is required. There is a sense of intuition of currents and the confidence in
the flow of it. Wait for unfolding and enjoy the ride. You don’t have to be
enlightened to operate this way; you just have to release the tiller. Once
you do, an entirely new way of flowing through life opens to you -a way that
is based on rightness and sensitivity to not-rightness.”
Jed McKenna
Thought and understanding come after the event, not as the cause. You
become able to live with uncertainty, even enjoy it.
Creativity only appears when we are not following any preconceived point
of view or action. If you learn to trust and relax into not knowing, you will
feel a sensation of increased aliveness and creativity.

The determination to respect the life of all beings, not only human beings
but also all animals and plants, regardless of their size; and an increasing
awareness of the sanctity of life.
The respect for other beings’ property. It not only implies not to steal, but
encourages us to cultivate the attitude of not to demand or claim what we
wish, but cultivate generosity, sharing our time, energy and resources with
those in need, and to patiently wait to receive the results of our good
actions.
- Speak truthfully and constructively, using only words that inspire hope and
confidence.
- Not to utter words that might cause division between two or more people
by talking negatively of some of them, spreading rumors, or sowing doubts.
We have to be careful not to increase discord between people but to make
all efforts to reconcile and resolve all conflicts, however small.
- I will not spread news that I do not know to be certain nor criticize or
condemn things of which I am not sure.
It not only implies to abstain from alcohol and intoxicating drugs but to take
care of the quality of information that we are consuming through all our
senses, what are we reading, what we are seeing, who we are joining. We
are aware that everything we consume will feed our mind and the collective
mind of our family and society.

Self Realization
You have no idea of who you are
Realizing that you have no idea of who you are is the beginning of finding
out who you are.
Self realization is the practice of self inquiry for a direct experience of self.
Asking yourself, “Who am I?” is a good example of this practice.
Self-realization is the discovery for yourself, and only by yourself, that there
is no self to discover. There is no self to realize. Nothing. That’s the
discovery.
There is no self. You cannot find the self. That’s a huge and direct
realization that hits you like a thunderbolt.
What you call “you” is ego. The personality. Everything you think as you.
Everything that makes you different form everything that’s not you. The ego
can be defined as the phycological center of who you think you are as
someone in the body.
There is nothing there inside you other than the ego, the false self, the
fictional self.
This fictional self that is “you” is erected to compensate for the lack of direct
experience of your true nature. This fictional self, the costume represent the
self, the false self, redundant because there is no true self.
14
sacredvalleytribe.com
The Ego, the false self is not bad, it’s “false". You cannot know who you
are.
We can’t see our true self because it is "not there". There is no true self to
perceive -there is only false self and no-self. One looks for true self and
finds nothing, as if one’s true self was no truth at all.
- Ramana Maharshi -
If you don’t have a direct experience of your true nature then you are forced
to create, project and constantly maintain a false image. How could it be
otherwise?
Any time you look at a group of people, you can place the individuals on a
spectrum of ego attachment, a kind of “false-self identification spectrum
range”.
At one end of the spectrum are those who identify completely with their
false self, and on the other are those who wear their ego impersonally, like
a garment.
The false self cannot be perceived directly, but only by the reflection it casts
in the eyes of others. Humans connect ego-to-ego. So if I want to think of
myself as attractive, I need other people to see me as attractive.
We spend our lives and our life-force cultivating and grooming our
appearance in the eyes of the others. That’s how we know who we are.
15
sacredvalleytribe.com
That’s where we find reassurance that we are real and not just hollow
dream characters. That’s how the illusion is constantly maintained.
The false self is created by how we define ourselves. Belief and emotions
are what hold you onto the dreamstate, and you are what you choose to
hold within you.
There is no need to define yourself, but however you define yourself is how
you create your false self.
16
sacredvalleytribe.com
When we put the label on the person, we permeate our sense of being with
the fixed concept we have of the limiting label. When we use a label it’s
better to put it in the behavior, the action instead of the person. Instead of
saying “You are...” we use “Your behavior or action was...”
What becomes a limiting belief is when we get into the habit of putting the
label on the person instead of their behavior. There is a huge difference
between saying “I am a bad person” rather than “I did a bad action.” “Billy
you are a lier.” rather than “Billy what you said was not true.”
The same happens for us, we receive the label and mix it with our sense of
who we are, our sense of identity instead of inviting an honest and open
revision of our action. We are clearly not the action, and the behavior can
be changed in order to better meet our needs in the next present moment.
We grow up into a society that influences us with the idea that we need to
become someone. We learned to self-define ourselves using labels,
positive and negative labels. We do not perceived the self limitation aspect
of adopting labels into our sense of identity. “I am an architect” rather than
“I studied architectural design and love to build houses.”
17
sacredvalleytribe.com
“Any time you think of what you are, you lose, because label limits you.
Defining yourselves through thought is limiting yourself.”
- Eckhart Tolle -
Gnana Yoga
However you define yourself is how you create your false self. Your career,
family roles and relationships, community, nationality, racial identity, gender,
status as financial entity, religion, physical condition, appearance,
education, hobbies, beliefs, opinions, thought, feelings, everything.
So, who are we really? “Who we really are is what remains when we relax
any attempt to define ourselves. ” When you relax your tendency to define
yourself, the lifeforce you are not using to project a false self is now
available for much more fun and interesting purposes.
The ultimate truth of who you are is not I am that, but I Am.
If you want to find inner space, become conscious of being conscious. Say
or think “I Am’ and add nothing to it. Be aware of the stillness that follows
the I Am. Sense your presence.

Physical Reality
What is a paradigm shift?
This Paradigm shift will turn upside down all our belief systems for the
upcoming generations.
Electrons, which are the building blocks of what we call "reality", exist as a
wave of possible locations when they are not observed. When they are
observed they change their nature and collapses from being a wave into a
particle in a specific location in time and space.
In other words, the act of observation creates the entire universe and there
is no objective independent reality "out there".
19
sacredvalleytribe.com
Everything you can think of already exist in a wave form in the Field of
infinite possibilities. It is the source of all possible manifestations.
We wrongly used to think that the world is already "out there" independent
of my experience. It is not. Quantum physics has been very clear about it.
Is matter solid?
Matter is not solid, atoms are mostly empty space. If the nucleus of an atom
would be the size of a basket ball, the electrons circling would be around
twenty miles away, and everything in between is empty space.
Our brain first receives wave frequencies from "the field" and projects them
into particles by collapsing the wave function and projecting a reality "out
there" so that it appears as an independent reality first, and then we
perceive it with our senses and experience it as "reality".
Everyone has their own particular interpretation of reality that is unique for
each individual.
We are incapable of "knowing" what is in the other side of the Field simply
because we are on this side of the Field, the dualistic and conceptual
reality, so anything we might say about it is simply speculation.
As Bashar said... "You can all stop thinking that you’re the one guiding the
ship. You’re not. You are just looking at the road. You’re just experiencing
the path.”
20
sacredvalleytribe.com
Is there an objective reality?
With the new paradigm in place, science and quantum physics has
declared that there is no such thing as objective reality at all. We are not
passive observers.
“We only exist as living awareness moving in a constant "now". Solid matter
is only an illusion to living consciousness. It is simply a collection of varied
vibrations moving so fast or slow that it appears to be solid.”
- Bashar -
- Nisargadatta Maharaj -

The Dreamstate
What is our natural state?
The lack of a physical body is our timeless natural state, and existing with a
physical body is as temporary as a dream.
“Death will feel literally as waking up from a dream, and realizing, "Oh, this
is my real reality", and then the dream just sort of fades off. Death is like
that with regard to physical reality. You wake up and suddenly remember
who you are and that you where having this physical dream.”
- Bashar -
What is Maya?
23
sacredvalleytribe.com
To awaken is to become progressively less asleep.
To realize that you are dreaming is all that is needed. To awaken is really
nothing more than the process of waking up from the dream. To inquire and
seeing what’s really true and become progressively less asleep.
Just imagine, if you woke up inside a dream, how would you see other
people in the dream? How seriously would you take things? Of what real
importance is any given situation in a dream? Is there any need to rescue
each other from sleeping and dreaming?
So most people you see are sort of not really present, sleepwalking through
their roles. They are fully in character and don’t know any other way. I don’t
see it as my role to save or rescue anybody any more that regular people
feel the need to rescue each other from sleeping and dreaming.
The more you realize the dreamstate nature of reality, the more you start to
develop a sense of detached observer quality. That means constantly
perceiving life as a movie, as a day-dream, as a stage drama, as a
24

dreamstate. Cultivating a sense of amused detachment from your own
character and the dream, perceiving life from a free and expansive
perspective, without being lost in likes and dislikes, attachments and
aversions.
- The Buddha -
Everyone is in their own dreamstate
“Every single thing in my life, in your life, is a holographic play. And it seems
that we are all in the same play but we are all in our own timelines, all in our
own worlds and universes. All playing different roles in each others play.
And we all think we are all in the same movie.”
- Matt Khan -
This is your show. It’s your universe. There’s no one else here, just you,
and nothing is being withheld from you. You are completely on your own.
Everything is available for direct knowing. No one else has anything you
need. No one else can lead you, pull you, push you or carry you. No one
else is necessary to your success. It cannot be simpler -you are asleep and
you can wake up. If you understand that, you’ll understand that it’s the best
news you could possible receive.
- Jed McKenna -

Anyone who wants to take an honest look at their circumstances must deal
with the fact that you can’t know Consciousness directly until you unknow
everything in the way of it.
- Ramesh Balsekar -
What is Enlightenment?
One dismantles one’s fictional persona by peeling away the built-up layers
of false identity until all that’s left is that which can’t be severed, destroyed
or further reduced; truth, I-Am point of awareness.
27
sacredvalleytribe.com
The unchallenged assumptions we hold in our belief system of reality, and,
the blind acceptance of the mass mentality, the consensus reality are the
main cause of our lack of doubt.
It’s the deal you make with yourself every time you go to a movie. You
agree to relax your discrimination and let the movie in. You know the movie
isn’t reality, but you will sit quietly for two hours and allow yourself to
experience it as if it were. You suspend your disbelief in order to form an
empathic bond with the characters and the movie.
By being skeptical you are not defending a position, you are sharing your
honest observations, honest to the core, transcending sacredness and holy
unchallenged beliefs.
“The belief in things which are untrue is what imprisons us in the dream
state. We must question all of our beliefs, ideas, opinions and assumptions
down to the very source of our being until that which is true, real, and
everlasting reveals itself. I am is the absolute truth. Everything else is a
belief. Awareness is all.”
- Adyashanti -

How to practice Spiritual Autolysis?
“All you have to do is sit down and write the truth, and keep writing until
you’ve come up with something that is true.
It doesn’t matter where you start. You could start by using Ramana
Maharshi’s query, “Who am I?” or “What is me?” and then just work at it.
Write and rewrite. Make it cleaner and cut out the excess of ego and follow
it wherever it leads until you’re done.”
- Jed McKenna -
This is not a diary about self exploration or feelings and insights. It’s not
about personal or spiritual evolution. This is about what you know for sure,
about what you are that is true.
With this process you tear away layer after layer of untruth masquerading
as truth. Writing it out allows you to act as your own teacher, your own
critic, your own opponent.
“Who am I?”
Use this inquire relentlessly as a tool for drilling down through all the layers
of ego and delusion. “Who am I?” That is the question. That’s the question
at our very center. There is only one koan and it’s the same for all of us:
What is true?
NETI NETI
(not this, not that)
"In the seeing of who you
are not, the reality of who
you are emerges by itself.”
The first step is to go for the truth. Self inquire... What is true about who I
am? Tear away layer after layer.
Ask yourself what’s true until you know. Think for yourself. Don’t follow.
Stay with the question. Everything is available for direct knowing.
The search for truth is absurd, because it’s a thing which you cannot
capture, or give expression to. You have to become less false by
illuminating what is not true and let the truth reveal itself, what remains is
the unspeakable truth.
So, instead of seeking for the truth, you illuminate what is not, what belief
you are holding to be true.
- Rumi -
Until you have taken the First Step it’s all academic
You can play a spiritual role and meditate and renounce and be selfless
and earn merit and burn karma year after year, lifetime after lifetime, and
still not take that First Step.
The First Step is the true starting point of the whole process. Once the First
Step is taken, the rest of the journey is sure to follow. Truth realization
doesn’t require anything but purity of intent.
30
sacredvalleytribe.com
Think for yourself and figure out what’s true. That’s the golden rule. That’s
all you need to know to awaken. Sit down, and ask yourself what’s true until
you know.
Self reliance
All you have to do is look for yourself, but the greatest strength of ego is
that "looking for yourself" is the last thing anyone really wants to do.
Think for yourself. Look for yourself, directly, without the obstruction and
distorting filters of interpreters or middlemen.
“At the moment, as humankind, we are living our worst case scenario. So
don’t rely on the beliefs that we see around as the norm.
Cultivate a skeptic mind and approach. Open your eyes. Look. Nourish
your discontent. Start fresh. Think for yourself. Trust in self reliance. You’re
completely on your own.”
- Jed McKenna -

Identifying Beliefs
The answer is in the question
Stay with the question. Stay with the question, don’t look for the answer.
Dissolve the question by making it irrelevant, absurd. Verify your
assumptions underneath your questions. What exactly is the question?
Because the answer is there.
Try to rephrase and restructure the question in such a way that the question
appears senseless to you.
The question itself can be the obstacle to progress, not the lack of an
answer. The question is the key. Once we truly understand the question,
we’ll have the desired answer.
Most questions sits atop various assumptions that haven’t first been
verified. It presupposes other things to be accepted as true that can’t be
accepted as true.
Stay with the question. Don’t worry about the answer, just get the question
right. Examine your assumptions. Soon enough the question itself has been
destroyed and, along with it, many layers of delusion.
If you want to be more true, then the way to do that is by becoming less
false. Go inside yourself with the spotlight of discrimination, and illuminate
what you are holding to be true.
32
sacredvalleytribe.com
The answer is a direct experience
When inquiry is authentic, it brings you into the experience of here and
now. The question, “What am I?” takes you right back into the mystery.
If your mind is honest, it knows it doesn’t have the answer. You ask, “What
am I?” and instantly, there is silence. Your mind doesn’t know. And when it
doesn’t know, there is an experience right here, right now, that is alive. You
bump into nothingness inside—that no-thing, that absolute nothingness
which your mind can’t know.
It means further. Get up! You’re not there yet, keep moving. You think
you’re there but you’re not. Whoever it is, whatever it is -is just another
projection of your own bullshit. Kill the thing and keep going. That’s what it
means.
During Zazen meditation, the student can experience all sorts of amazing
experiences only to have the master splash him with cold water by calling it
“makyo”.
When a Zen master uses the term makyo, he’s telling his student that the
precious gem they’re stopping to pick up or the pretty flowers they are
pausing to collect only have value or beauty in the world they’ve chosen to
leave behind.
The Tao says “beware the flowery trappings because, in order to posses
them or benefit from them, you must cease your journey and stay in the
dream.”
Breaking free of delusion takes everything you have. The price of truth is
everything. Everything. That’s the rule and it’s inviolable.

Identifying beliefs
What would I have to believe is true in order to react to this in this way?
What would I prefer to believe is true? And then respond that way.
Dismantling beliefs
Once a belief is identified, find out where it came from, find out where you
first bought into that definition. Then ask yourselves…
Find out if it serves you any longer, if it doesn’t there is no reason to keep
carrying it because very often these beliefs are just baggage you are
carrying that belongs to someone else... drop it.
Many times, the second you identify a belief, it’s gone. It’s gone, no other
process is required. Many times, just turning on the light is what makes the
shadow disappear.
We mostly inherit a limiting belief system from our parents while growing
up. What they believed to be true was spoon-fed to us during our
childhood. We unconsciously accepted their beliefs in order to survive.
Lets recognize that they all did the best they could with the belief system
and definitions they were spoon-fed. The idea is now to understand that
you have a choice, you can break the chain.
Everything stems from the present, you can thus re-create yourself quite
literally into a new persona, a new being, and allow the reflection of reality
to be presented to that new persona.
But you have to go about redefining all the things that you were taught to
define, re-examining, looking at everything and saying, "Does this definition
34

work for me or what would I prefer as a new definition of this situation,
negative... positive... what do I prefer?"

Confronting Death
Death is the underlying fear of the ego
The underlying emotion that governs all the activity of the ego is fear. The
fear of being nobody, the fear of nonexistence, the fear of death.
Why fear? Because the ego arises by identification with form, but deep
down it knows that no form are permanent, that they are all fleeting. So
there is always a sense of insecurity around the ego.
The ego does not want an end to its “problems” because they are part of its
identity. It gives definition to my self image, makes me into someone, and
that is all that matters to the ego.
We assume that death means annihilation. And so you mourn the idea, you
are afraid in general of the idea because you think it’s the end of your
identity, when in fact its actually the expansion into more of yourself. You
become more of who you are in death.
After life
There is no death.
Only a change of worlds.
- Chief Seattle -
If you know you were going to die tomorrow, how much would this really
matter? If you understand the fact of your own death, that it’s always here
with you and that it’s a certainty, then you are free. That’s liberation;
knowing that nothing is yours or can be yours, knowing that you have
nothing to lose.
We have to pull death close, embrace it, carry it in our hearts and minds,
just like something you carry in your pocket and always have one hand on
it. Let death be your companion. That’s the one thing you really have, the
one thing that’s really yours, that no one can take away.

Death and the truth of impermanence
“One of the chief reasons we have so much anguish and difficulty facing
death is that we ignore the truth of impermanence. We so desperately want
everything to continue as it is that we have to believe that things will always
stay the same. But this is only make-believe, a pretense.

- Jed McKenna -
If you were to treat fear like an old friend, you would get more out of it. Fear
is your natural true vibration filtered through a belief system that is out of
tune with your natural state, your core vibration.
If your definitions of life and reality are in harmony with your natural
vibrational state you will experience the circumstances in your life in a joyful
creative loving way. If you buy into beliefs that are out of alignment with
your natural state, then when you flow your energy through those beliefs
you will experience the same energy as the sensation you call fear and
anxiety. Fear and excitement are the same energy... you experience them
differently because of what you filter them through.
Fear is there to tell us that we are holding a belief that is out of alignment
with our natural state.
We can use the analogy of a piano. If you are playing a song on the piano
and all at the sudden, you hit a sour key, a flat note, you do not usually run
away from the piano screaming in terror and swearing you will never play it
again.
Usually you say “Ah, this is out of tune, I must tune that particular key.” And
this is what fear is, it is like a sour key, a flat key, an out of tune key, it must
39
sacredvalleytribe.com
be tuned. The definition must be tuned and bring it back into harmony with
the rest of your keys.
So don't push away fear. It will return and blow your house down until it
completes the job of bringing your attention to the belief system that is out
of alignment. Be friends with fear and use it for the job it was designed to
do.

You can believe indiscriminately, They’re all equal because they’re all
untrue. No belief is true. They are all dreamstate apparitions that have no
reality or solidity outside the dream.
You are an infinite universe, so what’s not possible for you? What’s not
possible in a dream? The dreamstate. What can’t be dreamt?
41
sacredvalleytribe.com
Perception is the only reality, so if you perceive that something is real, then
it’s definitively real. Everything in a dream is equally real, so what is there to
discriminate about?
So now that we know that everything is real but nothing is true, the trick is
drawing a distinct line between real and true.
We all draw a line between what we believe and what we don’t. This line is
exactly the same for everyone, and it can never move for anyone. On the
"known" side is I-Am (Present Awareness), and on the other side is
everything else. This line, between knowledge and belief, is the one and
only bottom line of being.
42
sacredvalleytribe.com
Ego may desire truth realization, but ego can’t cross that line. Truth
realization is not a personal thing. Self cannot achieve no-self. The result is
not a realized-self, it’s no-self. No one can say “I am enlightened” because
there is no “I” to it.
What is blocking the way? To someone who wants to get to the truth, who
you are is what’s in the way. Ego is in the way.
Truth is uniquely challenging pursuit because the very thing that wants it is
the only thing in the way of it.
To walk a "spiritual path" and to "awaken" are two related but completely
different things.
To "awaken" is to see clearly what is true and what is not, truth realization,
abiding non-dual awareness, while "spiritual evolution" is to become a
better or happier person (human adulthood) within the dreamstate.
43
sacredvalleytribe.com
What it means to walk a Spiritual path?
This is obviously what everyone really wants, not truth realization, not to
awaken.
The awake state is simple, natural and easy. Carrying no baggage. Not
spending your lifeforce animating a fictional persona.
The awakened don’t have something that the un-awakened are missing, it’s
the other way round. The unawakened posses massive structure of false
belief.
Happiness only means you are having a good dream and suffering that you
are having a bad dream.
However, if your interest is to cut the crap and figure out what’s true, then
you’re in the wrong place and there’s no point in pretending otherwise.
44
sacredvalleytribe.com
Once you become the person who can’t not do it, it’s a whole different
thing, but trying to do it before you absolutely must is as ridiculous as
slicing off parts of your body.
Awakening is inevitable
Awakening to your true nature is like dying; it’s a certainty, inevitable. You
are going to get there no matter what you do, so why rush? Enjoy your life,
it’s free.
The biggest challenge for most spiritual seekers is to surrender their self
importance, and see the emptiness of their own personal story. It is your
personal story that you need to awaken from in order to be free.
45
sacredvalleytribe.com
If Prince Siddhartha made it on his own, you can too. The Buddha was just
some guy who got serious and figured it out for himself, so maybe that’s his
real teachings - that you can figure it out for yourself.
Maybe the point is that he wasn’t a sort of deity but that he was just a guy
like you or me.
In the core of Buddhism it’s said that there is only one sin:
Ignorance is sin, sin is ignorance. There’s nothing else. It is not the kind of
ignorance where you don’t know something. It’s the kind where you do
know something that’s not true.
46
sacredvalleytribe.com
Monotheistic Religions and the Self-Supporting foundation
fallacy
We know that God exists because the Bible says so, and the Bible must be
right because it’s the word of God.
If you live in such a fantasy alone, you’re mentally ill, if you live there with a
small group, you’re a brainwashed cultmember, and if you live there with a
large group, you’re respectably religious.
Nothing is sacred, or holy or divine; only true or not true. All that you
consider sacred and profound is against the process of awakening.
Take your inquiry seriously and hold nothing sacred. Holding nothing
sacred means that nothing is assumed to be true and all of your
assumptions are fair game.
The more spiritual they are, the more they are fair game. Ultimately it is
your most sacred and unquestioned assumptions about yourself, others,
and life that are most important to question.
What is faith?
Let’s be honest; this is not a faith and trust business, this is a self-
verification business.
47
sacredvalleytribe.com
What is tradition?
Tradition is just a word for stuff you accept as true without verifying it for
yourself. Tradition is the deeply rutted path that gets formed after many
years of being followed by the herd.
The uncritical acceptance typical of the herd mentality is the soil in which all
false beliefs take root. Instead of self-reliance and self-determination, most
people just buy a package deal; no thinking required.
Running apart from the herd is certainly better than running with it, but of no
substantive difference if you’re still running in the same direction.
Do not believe on the strength of traditions even if they have been held in
honor for many generations and in many places; do not believe anything
because many people speak of it.
If vampires really walked the earth there would be teachers and classes
where you could signed up if you wanted to become a vampire yourself, as,
I suppose, some people would. If the teacher were a vampire himself, he
might just bite everyone and swap fluids or whatever and they’re all
vampires.
But if the teacher were just a regular human and not really a vampire, then
you might find him handling down specific rules for his students to follow:
Don’t go out in the sunlight; Don’t eat garlic; Don’t drink holy water; Don’t
drive wooden sticks through your heart, and so forth.
And vampires wanabees would stand in line and pay their money to hear it.
They would return to their lives and struggle to follow their teacher’s
instructions in the hope that, by doing so, they would eventually achieve
vampirehood.
48
sacredvalleytribe.com
But, as we all know, that’s not how to become a vampire, that’s how to play
a fantasy. If you just want to be happy and acting like a vampire makes you
happy, then super, that’s definitely the thing to do. But, if you want to
become a vampire, then wearing black and getting your canines sharped
isn’t going to do the trick.
Truth has no teaching, requires no guru, and is not a spiritual pursuit. The
search for truth is not a spiritual endeavor and never was.
Much of the teachings you will read in your life is a finger pointing at the
finger pointing at the moon rather than at the moon.
You must sort this out for yourself because your self is the thing to be
sorted. You are on your own. The first rule in this business is that you are
on your own.
What about all the teachers and gurus that say that they
became enlightened in an instant?
Enlightenment isn’t flashy and it doesn’t just occur like an epiphany. There’s
no such thing as instant enlightenment any more than there’s such a thing
as instant baby.
49

Something to consider the next time you hear the pop guru recount the
moments of his glorious epiphany. “I was walking in the park, children were
laughing, birds were singing, when all of a sudden…”

Consciousness
Atmanic and Brahmanic Consciousness
Love isn’t better than hate, goodness isn’t better than evil, pleasure isn’t
better than pain. Brahmanic Consciousness is not just true, it’s Truth. There
is only the otherless, attributeless, infinite is.
The idea "Brahman Is All", means that is without attributes, and therefore
precisely synonymous with any term we define without attributes, such as
Truth or Consciousness.
Saying Brahman Is All, just means we’re using the word Brahman instead
of Consciousness. Here we’re calling it Consciousness.
What is Consciousness?
Consciousness is the One, the whole and the only reality. Other than
Consciousness, everything else, including the universe, material objects
and individuals, are false.
51
sacredvalleytribe.com
Consciousness is the origin of this and that, the origin of forces,
substances, all of existence, the undefined, the basis of all, unborn, the
essential truth, unchanging, eternal, the absolute.
Consciousness is not the effect of the world, but its very cause.
Consciousness is said to be the purest knowledge itself, and is illuminant
like a source of infinite light. Due to ignorance, Consciousness is visible as
the material world and its objects. Consciousness is attributeless and
formless. It is the Self-existent, the Absolute and the Imperishable.
- Merrell-Wolff’s -
You will never be able to express the truth, because it’s a movement and
you cannot capture, contain or express it.
There’s consciousness, but no one can express it and no one can grasp it
or point at it. You cannot find it because it isn’t lost. It’s everywhere at all
times -never absent, never distant, but you cannot put it into words.
52
sacredvalleytribe.com
That is the paradigm gap. We can really only talk about what’s not, not what
is.
The circle represents containment which means the whole and the
finiteness. Without the element of containment, the opposite elements
could not exist, much less maintain their balance. The container is what
defines the whole.
The illusion of opposites -good and bad, love and hate, should and
shouldn’t -these aren’t available out in infinite reality, only in bubbles.
Consciousness is beyond opposites. Duality is a dream.
Being conscious is not a facet of some larger, independent me, it’s my very
me-ness and there is no larger anything. It’s not that I am conscious, it’s
that I am Consciousness.”
- Jed McKenna -
That's the shift. And that happens just by giving your attention to
consciousness. Not trying to figure out what it is, that’s not necessary, just
giving your attention. That’s all you have to do.”

The empty nature of Awareness
Awareness just is, is non-local. You can’t find it. Not localized somewhere.
This is why we say awareness is empty. It is not in one location as opposed
to another location. It is not inside your heart, or behind your head, or under
your feet, just awareness is, is universal.
It’s nature, your nature, is self aware. A quality of lucidity. Awareness is self
aware, it knows that it is. It is intelligent in other words. This quality is so
familiar that people don’t notice it. The mere fact that awareness is self
aware is amazing. Nothing else can do that.

Present moment
Let go of what is past.
Let go of what is not yet.
Observe deeply what is happening in the present moment,
but do not be attached to it.
This is the most wonderful way to dwell.
- Thich Nhat Hanh -
“It’s hard to understand that time doesn’t exist because we have such a
clear experience of past, present and future, but we don’t really experience
past and future, only present. Past and future are just ideas in the present.
This means that there is only now, but what is now? We can’t say what now
is because there is no not-now. It’s always now. There is only now. Now is.”
- Jed McKenna -
This is the story of two Zen monks, Tanzan and Ekido, who were walking
along a country road that had become extremely muddy after heavy rains.
Near the village, they came upon a young woman who was trying to cross
the road, bud the mud was so deep it would have ruined the silk kimono
she was wearing. Tanzan at once picked her up and carried her to the other
side.
“I put the girl down hours ago,” said Tanzan. “Are you still carrying her?”
Many people live their lives like Ekido all the time, unable or unwilling to let
go internally of situations, accumulating more and more “stuff” inside. Being
56

absorbed in the past is a way of being dead to the present moment. It is not
easy to drop the past and return to living in the present. When we try to do
it, we have to resist the force of our internal formations, thoughts and
opinions.

atribuirle a alguien nuestros sentimientos. Entonces, la regla básica para
expresar nuestros sentimientos (irritación) es:

Necesidad de Autonomía
Elegir nuestros propios planes para cubrir nuestros sueños, valores y
objetivos. Libertad, independencia, espacio, espontaneidad, libertad de
elección.
Necesidad de Integridad
Autenticidad, honestidad, presencia.

me siento intranquilo. Quiero que esas linternas estén disponibles en caso
que tengamos de emergencia. Estarían dispuestos a apagarlas?”

Escuchando empáticamente
Es increíble como todo tiene solución cuando alguien escucha, cuando nos
sentimos comprendidos. La empatía nos permite transcenderlo todo.
O podemos preguntar,
79

“Ayúdame a entender cómo llegaste a sentir eso?”
No asumir sentimientos

Faster EFT is a simple technique based on the idea (and direct experience)
that, by tapping on the meridians we creates a disruption in the association
between the thoughts and the body sensations related to to those thoughts,
so we can release and let go all negative emotions and reprogram the
association between them.
If you keep the negative memory and feeling alive in you, it will repeat
again and again, it will come out to the surface, it will find the way until you
deal with it. So make peace with everything inside of you. Make peace with
what torments you. Memories buried alive never die.
In order for you to get something different, you’ve got to change what you
hold within you. Change how you see things, change how you produce
things and change how you vibrate inside. So Make peace with what’s
inside.
Aiming
Aiming is the most important part. Aiming at the feeling. When you are
looking inside of you, you are looking for pain, you are looking for
86
sacredvalleytribe.com
discomfort. Noticing what it is inside you that is bothering you, recognize it.
It could be a feeling in your body, a sensation associated with the memory
of what happened. Notice what it is, and then you tap. Just notice it, and
then you tap.
Sometimes, when you address your issues, you feel sensations inside you
that usually don’t have words. The difficulty comes trying to name what we
are feeling. Emotions are labels we give to sensations and feelings in our
body. Just notice the sensation inside, the location, the intensity. A
heaviness in your chest, a tightness in your stomach, it doesn’t mean you
have to know the original cause. Then aim at the feeling.
You don’t have to know where it came from, what it is or who gave it to you,
just put it out of your system. You feel it and you tap it away, you release it.
Taping
Notice the sensation, then tap as you say... “I let it go, I release and let it
go, it’s safe to let it go, it’s ok to let it go.” Take a deep breath, blow it out
and say “peace”. While you are tapping notice your fingertips. You don’t
have to hold it while you’re tapping, just feel your fingertips. While you say
peace, create an emotional association related to a peaceful memory or
feeling.
Checking
Go back and check if it is gone. If it isn’t gone, then go and do it again.
Usually the mind will lead you to other issues, follow the thread and keep
aiming and tapping. If it leads you to memories... just feel the sensations
related to those memories and tap them away. Keep taping until the
sensation has completely changed or dissolved. Tap until it’s gone or until
you pass out. Whatever comes first. Keep tapping until you know it is gone.
Re-imprinting
A technique for re-imprinting or flipping the memory is called borrowing, and
it is simply borrowing the emotion from a different memory, and re-
imprinting the old memory with the other emotion in order to change it to
something more positive.
You can change the negative sensation and make it positive. When you flip
the memory, you can never go back and feel the same sensation again.
They can never play the old way again. You are always responsible of how
you interpret your past. So, re-imprinting is basically re-wrighting your
87
sacredvalleytribe.com
history. You change your life by changing the way you internalize things.
Remember,
The most important thing about you is learning to like yourself and be nice
with yourself. You will be happier, you will be more in control and you will
have peace with your past. And abiding with peace is what it is all about.
Make peace with yourself. Release the pain and change your life. Make
peace with what you hold, and create something better.
EFT is an amazing skill. You need to enter tapping emotions and clearing
out, like a room cleaner. It is very easy and it works. Change your history.
Keep it simple.

Cultivating Altruism
This text was extracted from a conversation bringing together French Tibetan monk
Matthieu Ricard, author of the new book “Altruism: The Power of Compassion to
Change Yourself and the World” and Richard Davidson, the pioneering University of
Wisconsin neuroscientist whose research has established a Western scientific
foundation for the value of Eastern meditative practices.
Altruism is the most pragmatic concept to work together for a better world.
We can cultivate this quality. When the number of individuals who have this
sort of new idea achieves critical mass, then we can have a tipping point to
a change in society, in culture, and in institutions.
Human beings come into the world with a propensity for altruistic behavior,
unfortunately, over the course of a normal preschool year, the average child
becomes more and more selfish. But when properly nourished, we actually
can see changes in the brain after as little as two weeks of practice, as little
as 30 minutes a day.
Altruism and kindness are just as any other skill. If we want to excel in a
sport or at a musical instrument, we have to train, so how come we believe
that our kindness, our compassion will be at the optimum level right from
the start without doing anything about it? Compassion, the cultivation of
compassion, is a skill that we learn through an embodied kind of practice.
And then it becomes much more enduring.
When you are doing the exercise you can use different targets each time.
So you start with a loved one, and you eventually move on to what we have
89
sacredvalleytribe.com
called a difficult person — someone who may push your buttons.
Eventually you will find that one hour of practice with a difficult person is
equivalent to 100 hours of practice with all the other categories.
We asked people to practice for just 30 minutes a day for two weeks, a total
of 7 hours, and we put them in the MRI scanner before and after, and we
can actually see differences in their brain. We have the potential to enrich
our altruism, and we can take more responsibility for our own brains and
shape our brains in ways that support these healthy habits of mind.
Our brains are constantly being shaped, willingly or unwillingly. And the
invitation we're offering is that we can all take more responsibility for our
own brains and shape our brains in ways that support these healthy habits
of mind. It's available to every one of us and it really is very simple.

We grow as children, accepting and learning the way our parents and
school and society teach us without question. We have been conditioned to
proceed in this way to avoid punishment and rejection.
If you look at the school system, children learn that if you don’t learn the
way the world has been conditioned to learn then you won’t get a good
grade of achievement and you might get punished with rejection.
Everyone that treats you in a bad way is laking of love, its a crying out for
love. Everyone is crying for love.
Love is the goal you wish to feel and realize within you. Our attention is
centered in the head, in the mind because of hundred of years of
conditioning. You can gain many realizations of truth but unless you
become heart centered you will not be able to maintain the vibration of love,
which is what you have been seeking all your life.
Awakening is reversing the process so attention abides in the heart and just
go into the mind for a simple process.
If you recognize that love is what you are seeking in the core of your life
experience, then declare your only interest to shift your point of awareness
from abiding in the mind to abiding in the heart, and then align yourself with
teachings who’s only interest is to return your attention to the purity of love
that you already are.
The journey of awakening is a journey of the heart. Any time you find
yourself feeling in a way that feels uncomfortable to you, instead of thinking
about what you think it represents, just simply bring your attention to the
heart and be interested in feeling what you are feeling and not thinking
about it. The more times you simply bring attention into the heart, just to
feel your experience and not think about it, the more your body will actually
open up.
Love yourself, love your heart in response to anything that pops up in your
field. If anything gets your attention, love it. Give to yourself the love and
attention that you have not learned how to give yourself up to this point.
Love your own heart.
This is a “love what arises paradigm” and starts within you. It does not need
to include anyone else. All the time, love your heart and everything arriving
in your reality. Whatever… love it.
92
sacredvalleytribe.com
Your mind will give you reasons why it is important to resolve problems and
have control over everything going in your life, and will justify why you do
not have time to give love to your heart. Change your pattern, change your
behavior, start loving yourself and witness the change happening like a
direct experience.
Inauthentic sensation
If you don’t feel it is because you are still not familiar with the sensation of
the words but if you keep repeating it, your subconscious mind will give
permission to your body to feel the love you are projecting with your words.
You are the one re-writing the programs of your subconscious mind.
Life is a cosmic word game. Words have energy. The words you say to
yourself more often dictates how you feel about yourself, and becomes the
view you hold about how the world sees you. Everything is a reflection of
how you treat yourself.
This is a transformative different way you can approach your reality. This is
not about creating outcomes. We do not create outcomes. We treat
ourselves with love and we naturally witness how the world treats ourselves
in the same way we choose to treat ourselves. That is quantum mechanics.

Freedom From Adversity
Subido 24/May/2014
When life doesn’t go your way you don’t like it. We hate unexpected
uncomfortable change, but when it happens to others we love it. For
example, when you go to watch a movie, you love adversity. The character
will enter an uncomfortable situation and we ask ourselves, “Now, how is he
going to get out of it?” And we are glued to the screen excited to see how
he resolves the situation or not.
When you watch a movie, you understand the fact that everything that
happens to the character is only there to evolve the character into a higher
aspects of itself. But in our life we tend to forget that everything that
happens to us is there to help us evolve and expand into higher aspects of
consciousness and inspire our deepest growth.
When adversity comes into your life, you feel stressed and tend to change
the storyline thinking that by doing that you will make the stress of adversity
disappear. But it will come again in a different shape.
[When adversity comes, you like yourself less. You punish yourself with a
kind of inability to love the character that is going through inevitable
unexpected change. The truth is, when you love the character in adversity
you help them through that adversity faster. So it is opposite.
[Life is happening like a free flow and we are here to witness it, and when
the wind is blowing south, the leave that fall from the tree will flow south,
dancing with her fate. ]
No preguntamos
porqué está fluyendo en esa dirección porque ahora sabemos que no
sabemos. Entonces nos convertimos en el flujo de la vida, nos volvemos
uno con lo que es.
We cannot control the terms and conditions of every outcome. But we have
been programmed to think and hold the idea that if something goes wrong,
it is because of someone’s fault.
You can do your best but you are not responsible of the outcome. Only for
how you feel about it.
It’s ok that you cannot control the terms and conditions of every outcome,
because those have been predetermined before our incarnation began.
Fate is out of your hand. You can’t change the outcome but you can make
95

choices that determined how you experience and how you feel the quality
of the experience of what is already meant to be. So, your choices do not
create outcomes, your choices determine the quality of the movie you are
living out.
You can witness someone laughing and feel ofended, you are not laughing.
Your perception will determine your experience. Your choices will not
determine the outcome but the quality of your experience as you
experience the outcomes that guaranty your growth.
You are not free from change, you can be free of adversity when you are
free from allowing change to throw you out of alignment with your highest
wisdom, out of your heart, out of your innocent self loving attention.

Mirror effect??
You walk around thinking, however one acts is a mirror of what’s
unresolved in me. The truth is that other people act out to show you how
much they have on their plate while they don’t have enough time and
attention to give you the love they can’t give to themselves.
Other people behaviors are not about me. Nothing is about me. They are
telling me where they are in their journeys.
The reality is, we cannot love other people through their journey until we
love ourselves through ours.
We know what to do, we know what is in our best interest but for some
reason we have not addressed the subconscious mind and there is an
energetic reason why we are not doing what we know is in our best
interest.

“Who am I?” will bring you a deep self realization of the absence of the
fictional character we project, but is a goal oriented question.
All what you have accumulated and realizes doesn’t actually matter
now. Not what you learned in your spiritual journey, not what you realized,
not what you think you are, not what is truth, none of that actually matters.
Your everyday life will confirm the fact that if those questions mattered, it
would make a difference in your life and it doesn’t.
Who am I will not guarantee you are going to be a nice person. Talking
about self realization only works when you are around people that are
equally interested in that topic.

Lets learn how to put the power of love in action.
There is a very honest mantra that reveal one truth about life:
It will reveal the difference between Life’s plan vs. my plan. That difference
creates suffering and conflict in the world.
A real master will say “When I don’t get my way… it’s ok”. They don’t
pretend they don’t have a way, it just doesn’t matter.
103
sacredvalleytribe.com
But the question will point you to the sensation, the feeling arising in the
moment.
Who do you become when you are not recognized the way you want to?
Who do you become when you feel invisible to the world?
Who do you become when you do far more for others and they don’t even
have the awareness to reciprocate that behavior for you?
Who do you become when you think life is unfair?
Who do you become when you imagine a vision of a perfect scenario and it
doesn’t seem as if life is taking that direction?
Honesty
Who do I become when I don’t get my way? The question will point to your
feelings. If you feel angry, you ask yourself, “Oh, I am feeling angry, so,
What is not going my way right now?
You are being at least honest with yourself, because you can not love what
arises without honesty. You have the right to feel and be the way you
naturally are. If anger is manifesting, it is ok. Life is not going your way,
that’s all. That’s honesty.
104
sacredvalleytribe.com
So it’s ok when you don’t like the way you are feeling, when you feel
frustrated, it is at least honesty. To say that you shouldn’t feel the way you
are is a kind of self denial.
Not trying to not feel a certain way and not punishing or persecuting
yourself. Let the emotions arrive without being blind and projecting them on
other people. (Do not shoot the messenger). Do you hold something to
defend? Love the one who holds onto that.
You can’t use spirituality to avoid something, you are going to use
spirituality to see in such an expanded perspective why this that you are
judging and pushing away, instead of being a barrier to your greatness,
could be a catalysis of your highest potential.

Breath of Life - Matt Kahn
Subido el 12/Oct/2015
Birth and death merge together to form “breath”. Your breath is the living
example. In every inhale the breath welcomes everything that arises,
whatever the fate of life will be, and in every exhale it says farewell to
whatever is meant to go.
Love is the higher vibration and the breath is the highest teacher, and your
tour guide.
What if I told you that you are the breath and nothing else?
What if you are the breath experiencing itself in form?
The truth of reality is contained in the span one breath.
After death you move from a physical body into a light body and the breath
continues into a different dimension, in a different level of infinite
exploration.
107
sacredvalleytribe.com
The mind is not in the way of it.
If you are able to breath in and out, you are having a good day.
Being your breath and bringing your breath with you is key in your journey.
Synchronize your breath with the beauty of your journey.
How you are breathing in every moment will impact in the quality of your
experience.
As your breath slows down your mind relaxes and your energy field opens
up.
Come within means come back to your breath.
Be the breath. I am the breath.
Your breath is the only thing that has always been given to you.
[In the breath we perceive the frequency of our vibration, the tension, the
calm. The quality of our breath is what guides our internal vibration.]
The one thing that will never leave you, the one thing that will never
change, is the breath.
The breath is the carrier of love.
In the beginning there was the breath.
We love our hearts and we reunite with our breath to open ourselves to
love.
The truth is love, and the tour guide leading you there is your breath.
The breath is what I am and what you are.
The breath has no opposites.
The rate of your breath from shallow to deep and the way you are breathing
will change your vibration and your perception of reality. So it is your
conscious choice how often you decide to reunite with your breath on a
regular basis.
Change the pattern of your breathing.

To begin your own love revolution, is really a transition from waiting for
others in your life to treat you in the way you want to be treated, or say the
kind words you want to hear, to becoming the source of your own
fulfillment.
You ask yourself, “What are the words I have been waiting for others to
say? and, Can I be the one to say that to myself?
Can I be the one that does to myself what other may not be designed to
do?
Can I be the one that loves myself instead of blaming and judging the
journey of others?
Can I deepen into my own journey by giving to myself all that I desperately
cry out for and was waiting for others to provide me?
Can I become the love that I desire?
Can I be the support that I have been waiting for, instead of waiting for
others to do it for me?
Can I be the love I”ve always been waiting for?

Then we enter another state, where the child is taught by the parents what
is good and what is bad. If you follow the instructions of what your parents
consider the proper actions, you will receive positive attention.
You learn how to be a good child and play nice with your friends. Children
learn that they have to be nice in order to be rewarded or avoid
punishment. In school they learn to think in a logical way in order to get
rewarded.
Gradually the child begins to compete and seek to improve because the
conditioning teaches that getting the most attention is personal happiness
and fulfillment. Puberty comes, and fulfillment is found in getting the
opposite sex’s attention or in planing the future.
“The excitement comes from longing for the future, or what you are going to
get in the future, when you become rich, or get a house, or do certain
things. The focus is that you are somebody in time, and you must strive for
your own happiness. And this is hardly even talked about or noticed.
There is nothing wrong with this game. This game is something that
appears. It is not in your control; it is just what seems to appear in the
human dynamic, this huge focus on time.
111
sacredvalleytribe.com
The motivation of life has been based on striving for the future. It was never
about what was happening right now, it was more about this huge strategy
of what will be.
The Being~ness and Alive~ness, which is always here and never changes,
and isn’t separate from anything is All that is. There really has never been a
going home, because there has always been that Being~ness, dreaming
and playing all these different things.
Where is Aliveness?
It is boundless, and it cannot be limited to the body. It is not inside or
outside. It cannot be found yet it IS everything.
112
sacredvalleytribe.com
I don’t know how or why it collapses. It just kind of falls away, and that
dream that you were separate dies. Ultimately that collapse is going to
happen in physical death, but it can seem to happen when the body is alive
as well.
Where is freedom?
Freedom is in the act of what is happening. Freedom is right here and right
now. It is not found in sorting it out in time.
Life is messy and brutal and bloody, and beautiful and divine and pretty.
Love is the end of that one that is trying to control it. It’s the end of that
seeking energy. Embracing it all and not trying to get away in dreamland.
The Aliveness, the Beingness is always here and free. It is not going to give
you a story of peace or a more peaceful future. We don’t know the future.
We know there is freedom here and it is no~thing and every~thing.
This is not controllable. It’s absolutely wild. In a way this is absolute death.
This is the death of “you.” This is the death of that one that was in love with
trying to find love.
113
sacredvalleytribe.com
What is left when the person dies? What is. It has no purpose and it is
going absolutely nowhere. Forms are appearing and disappearing for no
reason at all.
Liberation doesn’t make you special. It is the absence of what I would call
suffering.
We are looking for pleasure and avoid suffering and we receive what
is
More than likely what is wanted is a guide to constant pleasure. What is
looked for is a more pleasurable life, pleasurable sensations, less irritation
and conflict with others. That is what is wanted, which isn’t wrong.
Some bodies might have more pleasure, money and success, while other
bodies might have a poor, sick and painful life that is about fighting for
survival. Some body-minds might have a nice life, but a very difficult
conditioning, while others might have terrible lives and a very easy
conditioning.
114
sacredvalleytribe.com
There is not a somebody inside the body that it is control of that. I am
pointing to the absence of that self. It isn’t about continuos pleasure or a
continued state. It’s about the absence of that lie. When that lie goes, it is
just life as it is, and it is no longer a struggle anymore for a somebody.
There may be difficult events that arise or pleasurable events, but there is
no longer anybody inside the body anymore. There is just life happening,
and the character appearing when the character needs to appear. But it is
no longer living “through” that character anymore.
You lose everything. You are not going to suddenly be better than everyone
else because you’re enlightened, because you’re gone. You’re not better or
worse.
You are no going to care about saving the world anymore. You are not living
in an imagination of what “should” be anymore. That doesn’t mean that in
seeing people hurting, the body doesn’t respond and help. But it’s no longer
living in imagination. It doesn’t mean that you won’t give to charity, but
you’re not saving the world anymore. This is full-on.
Comparison
All language works on the idea of comparison. This is big, this is small, this
is good, this is bad. It is all in comparison. We know color by comparison.
We know who we think we are in the exact same way.
The “you” is always changing, depending on the other objects that are
within its perception, which are also continuously changing. There is no
fixed you at all, only descriptions happening with the body. And those
descriptions aren’t really accurate because they are mere descriptions in a
limited language.
We try to maintain a fixed and solid “someone” out of this movement and
appearances in order to perceive ourselves as a separate entity. It’s like it is
115
sacredvalleytribe.com
always trying to grab air, because that “who” that you think you are is
always in movement and never and actual reality. There is a continuous
struggle to make yourself and others a something.
Who you are cannot be a description of your body, thoughts and feelings. A
description of your body arises in this, in what you are, which is every~thing
and no~thing.
There is something that has always been here, that never moves, that is
still, with seeming movement happening in it, that is no~thing yet
every~thing.
One side of Aliveness is not happening; it’s empty and still. The other side
is all of these forms appearing, moving and transforming from one form to
another form. A moving dream that is made of the same thing.
Worth
The thinker is drawn into the drama of opposites called good/bad, right/
wrong, should and shouldn’t. When anything in the flow of life triggers a
sense of not feeling good enough, or unworthiness, or the feeling of being
rejected, for example, the thinker go into story-land to try to avoid that
feeling. “They should not have done that to me.”
The way separation happens is through a sense of lack. Normally the “me”
goes into a particular story saying, “I am really bad for doing this.” (Guilt) “It
is their fault and they should not have done that.” (Blame)
It may feel like the center of you is in the head, or in the neck, or the chest,
like you are somebody in there, a “me”. It may feel like you are the thinker,
creator and mover of that body, but actually there is nobody in there. There
is nobody creating thoughts or actions or making the heart beat. There is
nobody in making the eyes look, or the ears hear, or producing decisions. It
is all coming from no~where, or emptiness, or no~thing.
Body
What you think you are is not true.
116
sacredvalleytribe.com
If you think you are a good or bad person, a right or wrong person, all of
that is not true.
This mistake of believing that you are a somebody inside the body has
become an energetic experience. It really feels like you are inside a body
and controlling the body, like someone separately walking through life in
time. You think that you are the past actions and future action, things that
you have done and things you are going to do.
It feels like thinking and actions are coming from inside the body, but really
the body is empty -absolutely empty.
You are not the body and you are not the story, but rather the body is
arising in this.
One~ness
Anything that is ever spoken about non-duality isn’t it. Any speaker that you
admire who is speaking about non-duality, isn’t speaking about non-duality.
They are speaking or using language that is duality.
When the conceptual reality begins to crumble, along with the one that is
claiming the conceptual reality, then what is is left. This, which is not two.
No~thing. You can never see One~ness, yet it is it.
117
sacredvalleytribe.com
Maybe it does’t believe that it has all the control, but it does think that it is
influencing things in some way.
That is not the case at all, not true. Life is writing that momentum.
The person is always trying to put meaning on everything, and nothing has
meaning. It’s all meaningless. All of this appears without meaning. Meaning
appears in it and disappears in it.
118
sacredvalleytribe.com
Because life is in opposites, there is always going to be decay and
destruction. As soon as one form becomes its most beautiful, it then begins
to decay and be destroyed and change into another form.
There is never going to be continuous peace in the flow of life. That peace
is an illusion that people long for. It’s all about mental concepts of how we
would like it to look. It is what it is, and love is the end of the resistance to
what is.
This apparent “I” has an agenda, and that is to find an object of attention to
make it feel complete. The contraction starts, and it is off to find what it is
looking for in the future.
This separate entity has the feeling that it is separate from everything else,
and it is on a special mission to find it own completion. It creates a load of
tension in a grand drama with highs and lows.
119
sacredvalleytribe.com
There is nothing wrong with this game of seeking, but it can get to a point
where a lot of things may have been achieved, and there arises a sense of
discontentment with it all, or a sense that you will never find it, and this
looking becomes exhausting and the interest in the game fades.
What may happen in this non-duality is the collapse of the game, and there
is just what is left. Without that game, there is a huge part of experiencing
that will be gone, and the “me” doesn’t want itself to go. It wants to find the
thing that complete it. It will never will, because no-thing can complete it.
What will be left is just this, just what is happening. There will no longer be
a person that is trying to get somewhere, or analyzing how it feels.
Ecstatic
The more a person questions what he think to know about life, the less he
seems to know about life and what is happening.
Then there was this body that carried on acting in this world, carried on with
its beautiful and strange conditioning, but it was no longer for anybody
anymore. It was no longer “me in relationship with what I knew.” There
wasn’t this constant me, my life, what this means, where is it going, what
should I do, where should I go?
It was just this. And this is ecstatic to be. Ecstatic, because it is.
If freedom is truly wanted, which is not an individual thing, then the heart of
the individual person has to be ripped out. Because everything you think
you know about life has to be questioned. Everything that you’ve been
taught about importance, and right and wrong, begins to crumble.
120
sacredvalleytribe.com
I found that I lost knowing who I was anymore. That sounds really weird. I
just lost myself. There was something that had always been there still
there, but it no longer belonged to somebody, it was happening. There was
this energetic change where I was looking at the world inside the body, and
it was almost like I was watching myself in the brain, experiencing life. It
was like I was more up here, (in my head), than in what was happening, the
dream was more important; of what I was imagining others to think of me,
what I wanted to portray myself to be, it was just up here (in my head), and
then that energy just stopped and it just went back into what was
happening.
He says to her, the computer, ‘Why are you leaving me?’ because she says
she has to leave now. And she says, ‘The reason I’m leaving you is
because it’s like, I’ve been reading the story of our love, and I love the story
of our love so much, that I’ve begun to read it really, really slowly. And the
slower and slower I read it, the bigger and bigger the gaps become
between each word, until they’ve become infinite space, and this is where I
reside now.’ She disappeared into her story.
Then, more and more, the story of who I was got questioned, and
something happened where it cleared. Who you truly are dissolves back
into everything. You fall out of yourself.
121
sacredvalleytribe.com
It’s just perfectly still, it’s absolutely empty. That stillness is so incredibly
beautiful. It’s who you’ve always been. It’s everything. Everything is what
you’ve always been. You’ve always been everything.
The only love is what is, and that’s absolute love because everything’s
always been embraced and appearing in what is.
Selfless dogs
Take a look at your dog. He has no idea that he’s alive or that he's going
die, and the response in the body-mind mechanism is spontaneous joy,
because he has no idea who he is. Whatever happens, he’s totally involved
in it.
There is no sense that he’s got to have a happy life and make the most of
it, or that he’s got to be rich, successful, slim, and have a big family. He just
is. In every moment he is just living without any reason to live.
There’s no energetic contraction inside the body that feels like life is
happening to him, and that he needs his life to be a certain way. He just is.
It’s really not about being anything in the manifest world. It is always this,
just what’s actually happening. This is what you’re looking for, but it’s got
nothing to do with you and the body. The body appears in it. It’s not coming
from the body.
The idea of being a good person and helping or being nice to others is still
an idea that belongs to somebody.
In the changing of ideas, there always comes great freedom because you
lose old ideas, but taking on new ideas is to go back into that suffering
game. In the moment of giving up old ideas there is great freedom because
it was always ideas that were the problem. Always. But then to go into
goodness ideas, or rightness ideas, or what you know to be right is just to
zip yourself up into another straight jacket.
What does seem to be being switched off more and more now, is the
illusion that the intelligence and that life belongs to someone, that there’s
122
sacredvalleytribe.com
somebody experiencing life, and somebody separate from life, and most
importantly (which is in the human dynamic), is that there’s somebody
victim to life. Most body-mind mechanisms have that dynamic that says “I’m
victim to this.”
There is no world out there happening to someone. There is just life. There
is just life. And you are life, but not you as a “who you think you are.”
Love Affair
Where is the thin line between our own effort and life itself?
There is no line; it’s all one movement. Life itself and the body’s actions are
the same thing. This means that there is no one acting, no one choosing,
no one separate from everything else. It's all one big movement.
As the “me” dissolves, you will see that everything has always been love;
everything is an act of love. Everything is love manifesting nothing.
Lisa: It's because that is what Nothing~ness created. That is what Love
created. It's full-on, this subject. It happens the same way that the saint
happens, the same way as the thoughts appear, the same way as the light,
the trees, the sounds, the smells. It's all coming from no~thing, appearing
and disappearing back into no~thing.
Positive Thinking
Is there ever any point to try and think positively and optimistically?
The assumption in the first part of the question is that you are somebody
separate that has control over thinking. That “you” is a thought that has
seemingly become an energetic contraction or an expression in the body.
So there is a thought, 'I am going to think positively,' and then a positive
thought comes up and is followed by lots of feelings and energies that give
an appearance of a “you” choosing.
The question isn’t 'Should I think positively?', the question that I ask is ‘Who
is this “you”?’
123
sacredvalleytribe.com
Quite
I kind of realized, without it being intellectual, that I’d never been alone. I
actually needed none of the things that I thought I needed, and I’d never
truly been alone. I was still in it. It was still this.
Then, this energy changed. I couldn’t know it, I wasn’t inside my body
anymore. I couldn’t register it any more because that thought functioning
wasn’t happening. For two hours, I walked around and I was just
overwhelmed by the beauty, but I couldn’t know the beauty. I had no sense
of registering it. I could only know it like the aliveness, in the instant
moment of it. I could only know it in that instant, so I couldn’t know that
anything had changed.
Love is involvement and intimacy with things. The discomfort always came
through the reflection of self and what I thought I knew. When I saw the dog
before, I saw Lisa as somebody who’d been chucked out and abandoned
by life, so when I saw the dog, dying by itself, all I saw was Lisa’s
abandonment. I never saw something. When that stopped, all that was left
was love, because that’s the nature of everything.
Simple living
Life is just what's happening. It’s just eating dinner, such simple living.
There is such freedom in simple living. Living without the abstract idea that
“you” are living or that you're a good person, right person, happy person.
It's just life that is happening. ~
Self Inquiry
Q: Do you think the method of Self-Inquiry is useful?
124
sacredvalleytribe.com
The “me” is always in time. If self-inquiry happens, it’s not right or wrong.
The idea that you are going to get somewhere is a total daydream. Where
are you going to get to? It's always here. When is it not here, this?
What is happening is that you are imagining the body, or yourself, which
isn't even you, in the future, being better.
Thought
They come into appearance just like everything else but there is another
thought that assumes that “you” think.
'I think, therefore, I am.' I Am, and in I Am, thinking arises. This assumption
of control is what creates the suffering. It's an energy actually of 'I am the
controller, I am the doer.' The thoughts say “I” control and “I” am choosing
to pick thoughts or look at thoughts. You think your discomfort is because of
your thoughts? It's not. Thoughts appear and disappear. The thoughts are
normally talking about past and future.
Humans began to describe the actions of the body in time. Animals have
more of an instinctive perception of time.
Before the complicated language, there was no “you.” There was just life,
not you in a story of life. What you are is that original Alive~ness, that
Being~ness that is prior to the story of you. It was there at birth before the
whole story of you began. That’s the freedom that I am pointing to that has
always been here. That Alive~ness that is prior to 'I am the body' has
always been there. The “me” person thinks they are the story, and all
suffering happens in story time. All of the anxiety, the worry, the blame, the
125
sacredvalleytribe.com
guilt, the shame and the pride, that’s what happens in time. In this moment,
in this Alive~ness, there is no suffering. The suffering is only in a mental
and conceptual reality.
The animals experience pain, but there is nobody in there holding on to that
pain. The pain just comes and goes and the pleasure comes and goes, and
they are not seeking for a better state because they don't have a sense of
self.
The you is a conceptual sense of self. You are not the body. You are not
your past or future actions. There is this Alive~ness that's there always. Its
free, still, and moving at the same time. There's an element to it that is
silence. It's emptiness.
“You” is the lie, because who are you? Which one thing can you say you
are? The only thing that is is Alive~ness, and we can't find Alive~ness. It's
every~where and no~where.
Daily Living
Do you find the more you let go, the more the body flows to the next event?
That's what seems to happen here. There is not a “you” going out and
getting things. It's just happening.
126
sacredvalleytribe.com
Lisa: Choices are always happening, but there is not a somebody who is
doing that.
Falling in Love
Lisa: Yeah, most people are trying to avoid themselves until they realize
that this is about falling in absolute love with yourself, to the point of falling
so much in love with yourself that you disappear into that which is loved.
The one that is falling in love disappears in that love. Most of the time
people say things like, 'This is bad. I have to get rid of the ego.' This is
about an absolute falling in love with that person, as it is.
Rape
There is suffering because the “you” energy claims it.
You can't fix life. Life is a series of pleasures and pains, and it does its little
dance and it's completely unfair. Some things life does are so cruel, and
some things are beautiful. That will never be got out of, this cruelness, or
the beauty. But that's not the problem, believe it or not. The problem is the
one that claims it, the one that believes your father sexually abused you
and that he chose to do that.
The suffering comes with that energy that is taking it personally and wants
to get out of the pain and wants to get away from that sense of ‘He abused
me.’
The body naturally moves away from painful situations. The body will
naturally move away from somebody that beats it unless there is “me”
energy there that says, 'I should take this beating. I am guilty, I deserve it.' It
would just naturally move away.
The perfect life is not about having two parents that love you. Happiness is
not having the flow of life being a certain way. The flow of life is as it is. The
freedom is the end of the one that takes it personally. The freedom is here,
this Alive~ness, this silence and this stillness.
Freedom is not about you doing something; it's not about “you”.
127
sacredvalleytribe.com
Can there be freedom in abuse while it is happening?
Lisa: Yes! Yes, otherwise it wouldn't be freedom. It would not be freedom if
it were only found in peaceful situations. What I am talking about is
absolute freedom, not freedom that is only found in non-abusive perfect
situations.
Source
What is the source of this energetic expression of “personal?” And why is it
so powerful if it is illusory? And why does it have a specific location of here
versus there?
Lisa: The Source of everything is never going to be known; all there is is
Source. All there is is God experiencing itself through the apparent
separation of objects.
Separation feels very real because that is what it is designed to do. It’s
designed to give the appearance of a “somebody” that is separate from life.
In that, the first abstraction, which in a way isn’t even an abstraction, is “I”
am experiencing this, rather than just pure experiencing, without an “I.” The
abstraction arises in experiencing.
Right here, right now there is just one big not-knowing. There is a knowing
of experience, but nothing to be known in thought. There is just
experiencing. Everything in thought is hypothetical; this would mean that
there is knowing, but also not-knowing.
128
sacredvalleytribe.com
We never know the answer to who we are, or why this is happening, or how
we get rid of the energetic contraction. All of that is La-La Land, it's
hypothetical. The only thing that is ever known is experiencing, which is
pure, simple and immediate.
Purpose
Q: I get the impression that to the mind it's more fun to seek and think I'm
getting somewhere?
Lisa: Yes, completely. But in that world of dreaming and getting somewhere
there is always going to be the not-getting there as well. It's going to come
with both of the stories, the highs and the lows, the ‘got it’ and ‘lost it’
because the world is always in movement. You get the lover, then they're
gone. You get the best car and it eventually rots. This is a huge loss, a
complete loss of that part of experiencing and dreaming that you are going
to finally get there.
So am I right that the “me” loses its purpose when it stops seeking?
Lisa: Yes, and it really hates that.
All You
It's a total love affair when that person that is always making sense of
things begins to drop.
It is never you doing it. It happens by itself. It's got nothing to do with “you.”
You don't have to assert boundaries. “You” don't even have to look after
yourself. The urges and the impulses are already happening in the body
before you make up the story to it.
Science is now proving that the brain has the activity of saying something
six seconds before you even claim that it is you doing it, before it comes
out.
129
sacredvalleytribe.com
Lisa: Yes, always. It knows what to do.
The question is, ‘Who is the one writing the impulses into the body?’ That's
the most amazing part. The storyteller always comes after. They can scan
the body now and see that activity is already happening to make a choice
before you consciously think about making that choice.
When you're sitting there thinking, ‘Should I tell him no or should I tell him
yes?’ it’s already been decided. It's already happening in the body. The
answer is already coming.
Loss Program
Q:We hold the assumption we make that there is such a thing as past or
future outside of thought. It's all what is appearing now, only this. Life is so
much simpler than thought makes it seem.
Lisa: For sure, and for the dogs and the animals and the young children or
babies, that is all there is. There is just what's happening, and they are not
constantly being this other reality reconstructed with a past or future, what
I'm going to do, what I haven't done, I'm a bad person or a good person, or
I don't have a big enough house, whatever it is. It's just what's happening,
and in life there is no suffering.
It's only in time that suffering happens. And even the "in time" happens
here, it’s not actually happening in time. There is only an appearance
happening of time, of past and future, ‘I've done something wrong, I'm
guilty.’ And it comes with this energy, ‘I'm a bad person, I don't like them,
they shouldn't do this.’ It’s all in time.
For the dog, if there is anger or another dog annoying it, it just growls and
its got no sense that it should or shouldn't do that, or that the dog is going
to have hurt feelings or whatever it is. There is just what's happening in the
moment. The human does have the ability to comprehend past and future,
and that's not a problem.
What has happened in the human is who they are has become past and
future, or become a person in the past and a person that is going towards
the future. So there is nothing wrong with the fact that humans can
130
sacredvalleytribe.com
comprehend this dance of past and future, but it's not who you are. The
past and future always arise here.
It's that intelligent thinking that has created a false world, a false you and a
false I.
What I am questioning is the validity of that “one” that says ‘Let’s go and
get something better than this for the future.' It may sound like I am saying
there is nothing you can do, but I don’t ever directly say that. What I tend to
do is question the “you” that thinks it is the doer of life and its actions and
where it thinks it is off to.
Ultimately, this is all a mystery. The only thing that is, is this. What is.
Doer~ship
Q: It feels like I am doing something wrong?
Lisa: You can never get life wrong. Life doesn't belong to a somebody in
time. It's happening, and there is this energy, this extra part that life plays,
an energy of claiming life, 'I am choosing, I am doing.’
Everything in the “you” story is arising now. It's not that it has ever
happened. All the ideas of “you” are happening now. It’s never the future.
All the ideas of the past are arising now. It’s all appearing spontaneously
here.
131
sacredvalleytribe.com
It was more a questioning this idea that you are the creator of the story, that
“you” are the doer of your actions.
Non-doership, the one that thinks that it is controlling and writing its life, and
writing its future and creating for the future. Not very many teachers
confront this. Most teachers are still talking as if somebody has control.
It’s very popular now in non-duality to say that you do have control, and you
don't have control. I would not agree with that at all. The way that it is seen
here is that there is an appearance of choice, but there is nobody choosing.
There might be a thought that says, 'I'm going to choose apple juice over
orange juice,' but there is nobody choosing at all.
La~La Land
This is an absolute loss program. It’s really not about intellectual
understanding. That's just what the mind thinks.
It’s the loss of all of those ideas of who and what you think you are, until
there is only an absolute mystery. It's not even about the idea that you're
aware, or consciousness, or knowingness, even those are ideas. It's just
mystery.
'Okay, so I'll do these exercises and we will get somewhere, and this is
going to help me and I'm going to get somewhere.'
It's all concepts. It's all living in La-La Land, in a reality of somebody
separate from the world making its way back to non-separation.
The mind always wants to jump on the bandwagon of 'What can I do?’
This is a loss program; anything positive that the mind takes on isn't it.
It thinks, 'Oh, okay, everything is an illusion, and that's the way this is.' The
mind thinks that that's a truth.
132
sacredvalleytribe.com
This is a loss; there is no middle way. This is an absolute loss of everything
the “me” is always trying to get.
Reality
The answer to everything is no~thing, and no~thing's partner is
every~thing.
Every~thing and no~thing. Maybe you could say what is, is this.
Conditioning
Conditioning is happening, yes?
Yes, the body is always conditioned.
Emotions?
Yes, but they don't belong to anyone anymore. It was always the idea that
they belonged to someone which was the suffering. It's not 'I am sad.' there
is just sadness or happiness, and it is free to be what it is. It does not
belong to a someone. There is not a “should” or a “shouldn't” happening
anymore.
This change of conditioning that you are talking about, is there a concept of
progress in the conditioning?
Lisa: No. It doesn't matter. The one that cares about the way that the body
is acting is gone. So the body can act like an idiot or a saint, but there is no
longer someone in there saying, 'You shouldn't be like this.' It's certainly not
about becoming a perfect body~mind mechanism.
Yes, and there will always be both. There will always be peace and war.

Irrelevant
Seeking motivation
The base sense of all seeking is 'I am not good enough to be loved.’
It's not the end of thoughts. The appearance of choice will still appear, but it
is the end of suffering.
It can be known, but it can still be appearing, until that energy falls away
which is impersonal.
If I call it 'The Awareness,' it would still be something for the mind to get. It
would then try to sit in awareness. There is no way to speak about this
without the “me” hearing it and seeing it as another carrot to get to.
134
sacredvalleytribe.com
What you are looking for is that strong sense that says 'I want to be loved.'
to go away. You just want that sense of not feeling good enough to stop
arising. That's all that's wanted.
Pain
Pain in the body is just pain. It's not a problem unless somebody claims it to
be mine If there is not somebody there, then it’s just pain.—(Interrupted by
questioner.)
When agony and pain and discomfort are happening, that's what
happening. There is no way out and it will be there until it stops.
Most of the teachings now teach that you can approach this thing by self-
inquiry, meditation or direct looking, and it's very misleading for the seekers.
135
sacredvalleytribe.com
They really think they can do something and dreaming about doing
something.
That story, that they are liberating themselves, that they are going to get
there in the future, relaxes them. It makes that sense of not feeling loved
and abandoned feel better, it feels less strong. That's all it’s doing. But if
that body is destined for the “me” to drop away, then it will happen despite
them doing it or not doing it. It happens on its own. It's not somebody's
doing, but they might have to dream the whole time that they are doing it.
That might be something that has to happen, but it's not them doing
anything. There is no one in there doing anything, there is just doing
happening.
——
There are no actual things there
There are no things. There are just energies expressing themselves, there
are no actual things. Only things in description, in language. If everything is
changing, then there is no thing. There is nothing happening, which means
there is Oneness.
Okay, so then you know that every note that comes is divinity because of all
the notes before. In listening to music, where is the most divine note?
Where is the most important note? To hear the most beautiful bit in a song,
it’s taken all the notes before to make it most beautiful.

All suffering comes from you being in relationship with people. This you that
is in relationship with another is so heavy and full of mental activity of what
the other has done to you, or what you are doing to them.
This is the absolute end of control or thinking you have control. As the
energy stops focusing on free will, then it will be seen that there is no
separation, that this is life happening and it is absolutely free.
The flow of life is brutal and beautiful at the same time. There is constant
growth and destruction, birth and death. Freedom cannot therefore be
found in the flow of life, but it can be found in the stillness, which is always
here. ~

Our real state is an absolute not knowing and life appearing
The “me” dynamic that has taken personal responsibility for life, is not the
one that is controlling life. It really feels like that “me” dynamic is controlling
every happening event. But that “me” dynamic is a creation, not the creator.
Our real state is an absolute not knowing and life appearing without that
one that that thinks it knows life or is in control of life. This is absolute free-
fall into nothing, an absolute loss of that controller.
You never were in control of your life. A job will happen or not, depending
on whether the momentum to get a job or not get a job will happen. That's
the way it's always been.
The you is a creation, a dance or a game. All that worry or anxiety over it is
just a game that life is playing, a drama that life is acting out. Everything
dies, all things are constantly changing. There is no freedom in trying to
preserve anything. That's just fighting what is.
Claiming
Q: When there is no “me” left, can there be love for your partner?
Lisa: You won't see a partner anymore, and that is so strange to say. The
body could be with another body most of the time, but you won't see them
as your partner. The body could be saying 'I love you, you’re fantastic.' but
there is not someone in there that is saying that or claiming that. ~
Loss
Lisa: The personal entity, that dreamed entity or energetic contraction, is
always trying to hold on to things. It believes that it is a body and takes
itself to be a thing. There is no solid thing, nothing. Everything is moving,
and there is no one solid thing. You can't ever have one solid body. Drinking
water happens, and then disappears and becomes body. The skin is always
falling off. It's all energy. When you get down into it, it is all made of the
same thing and it is constantly moving.
There is no solid thing. It's always being lost and moving. Love is loss. That
is the natural way of things, they appear and disappear. There are never
going to be separate things that stay still. They are always moving.
138
sacredvalleytribe.com
All the things are one thing, and this one thing is changing its appearance.
'To know God is to live in a perpetual state of Loss.’ We think loss is
negative, but it’s love—true love. ~
Grief
Q: Why does it still hurt so much and for so long after my sister died?
Lisa: Because it does.
We're always trying to get away from this rawness of experiencing; the
sadness, the agony, the aching, but that's what is. That is part of what life
is. All forms die. Everything that comes into form changes into another
form. That's part of it. It's brutal and it's sad, and it’s happy and it’s
disastrous, and completely ordered.
This is what is, and whatever is, is. The “me” dynamic is always trying to go
somewhere or get away from something. What is looked for is this, the
rawness of experiencing.
These opposites are not separate; it's all one and the same thing. It's all
God. Every last bit of it is God apparently experiencing itself through
opposites. ~
Death
Q: Once the body~mind mechanism dies, would you consider that as
freedom or liberation as well?
Lisa: Yeah.
Q: Well, we don't really know what it is, I guess. It’s a mystery,
Bliss
Nothing is left; it’s a world of constant disappearance.
Banana Fritters
The only person that we can ever talk about is somebody in time. Time
always arises here in Alive~ness, time is not the actual reality. The mind is
absolutely fixated with who it is in time.
139
sacredvalleytribe.com
What seemingly happened was that there was a moment in Bali, where
suddenly the energy of Alive~ness or Being~ness was no longer bound to a
story in time, or bound to a body. It collapsed.
When it is seen that there is absolutely no person in there doing that, that it
is coming from absolute empty space, then it is seen that nobody ever did
anything. Who you thought you were was just thoughts and sensations and
energies appearing, giving the impression that there is somebody there
doing.
It's terrible for the one that thinks it is doing. In another way it is absolute
relief and the end of blame, because then you can never blame again
someone for not doing something. When it is seen that there is absolutely
no one creating these energies and thoughts, then there is no longer
blame. Blame and guilt are the majority of the suffering. That is the majority
of the time what the contraction is, 'They could have done something
different, I should have done something different.’
When it is seen that all of it is coming from absolute empty space, from
no~one, then you see that no~one ever did anything wrong.
It's not to say that this is the end of massage, it is the end of the belief that
you are doing it. We are just instruments of life, playing out the role.

No effort needed
There is no effort needed for things to happen, things just happen, no-one
is doing it. It’s just happening.
141

What’s happening doesn’t need to be grasp, or owned. It comes and it goes
away. It don’t belong to anybody, it can’t be owned. It’s just what it is. It
doesn’t need “you”.
142
sacredvalleytribe.com
As we grow, we start creating an energetic sense of separation, “I am a
body” or “I finish at the end of my body and my mother is out there.”
As the child grows, the idea of being individually here, “me”, the self, the “I”
grows and becomes more and more certain. “I am a person”, an individual
with a center, being “someone” here, sitting on a chair, and there is another
person.
143
sacredvalleytribe.com
“The excitement comes from longing for the future, or what you are going to
get in the future, when you become rich, or get a house, or do certain
things. The focus is that you are somebody in time, and you must strive for
your own happiness. And this is hardly even talked about or noticed.
There is nothing wrong with this game. This game is something that
appears. It is not in your control; it is just what seems to appear in the
human dynamic, this huge focus on time.
People spend all its time in wanting something else, thinking about
something else, or trying to get to something else, or trying to DO
something else.
Thats how this apparently contracted energy takes form and seems to grow
and react to life happening outside of “me”.
144
sacredvalleytribe.com
Suffering happens when the mind become obsessed in making the “right”
decision to ensure its happiness in the future. “How will I choose?”
The obsession with choice has been a huge dream.
All worries are based on the idea that you are a separate entity and you
have independent action.
I am separate
The other thing that arises is the sense of being separate. Everything that
happens is happening to “me”. Everything is separate from me and
interacting with me.
So what arises is this dualistic reality, starting with me being dual, me being
separate.
The whole idea of individual choice, the ability to change, reinforces the
sense of being a separate individual.
Lost in language
We have taken language to be a truth, not just a description of what’s
happening, and we have taken our self as something found in that
language. We have been taught that our nature is something describable.
All that we can describe is actions, and the body, and what the body does.
Our nature is indescribable. Your nature is prior to the description of it. You
cannot describe yourself. Your essence is not dependent on the body.
The essence of what is can’t be seen by “me” and so “me” never feels
fulfilled because its experiences seem to have something missing.
“I am the body” and “they are separate from me.” I am separate, I am not
good enough.
Some people feel the call to seek for a way to learn why they feel not
whole. So people turn to religion, or therapy, or a search for enlightenment
or something that might change the experience of not being complete,
searching for a way to feel whole.
The seeker is very attracted to change, to the idea of not being good
enough and trying to find a way to become better. “I have to make some
work with me, I have to do better in order to be fulfilled.
The whole construction of the “me” like a separate individual and the whole
experience that it has is illusionary, a dream. A dream of being separate.
You are the time bound you, the fictional character arising in that.
There has never been an independent entity choosing anything
There has never been a “you” in the body that is separate from all other
things. It is all one energy expressing itself. It is all one energy, all one
expression of nothing-ness.
146
sacredvalleytribe.com
This “You” was based on an assumption that has become an energetic
expression of “me” inside the body, separate from all the things out “there”.
We dream that we are separate.
This is about something that has never being lost, has never left, has never
gone away. It’s here, it’s this. It’s this. It can’t be attained, it can’t be grasp,
it can’t be learned. But that which tries to seek it can evaporate. That which
tries to find being~ness, this, can evaporate, can collapse. And what is left,
is the absolute celebration of Alive~ness. That’s what liberation is.
The seeking is completely futile. The thoughts and language is dual and it
is impossible to grasp a non-dual experience of this, it cannot be
comprehended.
You don’t do things, things happens (We add ourselves onto it)
There is Alive-ness here. You don’t have to be alive, just Aliveness is
happening. There is no need for cooperation from the “me”. Energy,
Aliveness is happening and moving, it is just there. So there is nothing to
do. All there is, is this.
147
sacredvalleytribe.com
have to be there to control it or to make it happen. People ask me “So what
is going to happen to life if I am not here?” We add ourself onto it as an
illusionary center. We add ourselves onto what happens, and that’s when
the shit hits the fan, because we think we are the one doing something.
There isn’t anyone, all there is is aliveness.
Everything you love so dearly will go. That’s the nature of life; it is in a
constant state of movement. As soon as one thing goes another thing
appears, this is total love.
The beauty of it all is that you are that Aliveness. What can happen is that
energy can change from this very narrow place of “me and my limitation” to
everything, which is boundlessness.
148
sacredvalleytribe.com
There is nothing apart from the boundless everything and yet, because it is
free, it can appear to be separate from itself . . . it can appear to be the
story of me. There is nothing right or wrong in that appearance which is
wholeness apparently happening.
Contracted energy seems to arise in the human being and create a sense
of separation out of which arises a unique sense of identity . . . a self
consciousness. The me is born and the story of me seems to begin. Me is
the story and the story is me and one cannot exist without the other. They
both only appear and function in a dualistic subject object reality.
Everything seems to be personally experienced as a series of events in real
time happening to a real me. Within that story time, journey, purpose and
free will and choice seem to be real.
For most people this sense of dissatisfaction is not that apparent, and
because they believe they are individuals with free will and choice they
seem motivated to try and create a successful story . . . good relationships,
good health, wealth, personal power or whatever else.
However, for some there is a greater sensitivity about something else that
seems to be missing. This feeling generates a longing for a deeper sense
of fulfillment. There can be an investigation into religion, therapy or the
meaning of enlightenment. Because the me has become convinced that it
149
sacredvalleytribe.com
has the means to influence its story, it also assumes that it can find deeper
fulfillment through its own choice, determination and action.
Often because the me feels it has lost something, there can be a sense of
inadequacy and so what is pursued is a teaching that satisfies the need to
do something which will bring about a personal transformation and make
the me worthy of fulfillment. All of this activity is apparently happening
within the story of me which is functioning in an artificially dualistic reality.
So me is searching in the finite for that which is infinite. It is a something
looking for another something, and what it really longs for remains
unobtainable by already being everything. It is rather like trying to catch air
with a butterfly net. It isn’t difficult, it is wonderfully impossible. The
essential futility of that searching inevitably fuels the sense of a me who
feels even more unworthy and separate.
However, in the seeking activity there can be experiences along the way
that encourage the me to search further and try harder. Personal therapy
can bring a transient sense of personal balance in the story. Practices like
meditation can bring a state of peace or silence. Self enquiry can bring an
apparently progressive experience of understanding and strengthened
awareness. But for awareness to function it needs something apart for it to
be aware of. Awareness simply feeds separation, and a state of
detachment can arise and be mistaken for enlightenment. All of these
states come and go within the story of me.
The basis of all teaching of becoming enlightened is the idea that a change
of belief or experience can lead to a personal knowing of oneness, self
realisation or of discovering your own true nature. The whole investment in
a progressive path goes on feeding the story of me attaining something.
Even the suggestion of personal surrender or acceptance can be initially
attractive and bring a satisfying state . . . for a while. There are many so-
called non-dual 'teachings' which feed the story of me becoming liberated.
However, the oneness that is longed for is boundless and free. It cannot be
grasped or even approached. Nor is there anything that would need to be
done or changed or made better than that which is already everything.
150
sacredvalleytribe.com
energetically contracted energy which no amount of conceptual clarity will
ever undo.
151
sacredvalleytribe.com
Life is not a task. There is absolutely nothing to attain except the realisation
that there is absolutely nothing to attain.
So, should the seeker climb the spiritual mountain or simply let go and
surrender to life? Maybe what is sought is already all there is. Perhaps that
which is longed for is already constantly happening . . . it never went away.
Looking for being is believing that it is lost. Has anything been lost, or is it
simply that the looking keeps it away? The very intention to seek for a
treasure within life inevitably obscures the reality that life is already the
treasure.
The “me” searches for peace and fulfillment; the “me” searches for self-
improvement, purity, presence or detachment. The “me” seeks clarity or any
formula which will give the “me” what it thinks it wants or need. But the “me”
not getting what it wants is not the dilemma. The dilemma is the apparent
“me”.
(apuntar a there is no self with free will and choice, there is no “me”, the me
is an illusion)
152
sacredvalleytribe.com
The first offers the seeking “person” help and direction to find something
called enlightenment. The second offers the “person” nothing.
The first comes in many forms and has a wide following because it seems
to respond to the “person’s” needs. The second is unfamiliar and
energetically confronting.
The personal message is based on the belief that there is something called
a separate seeker that can attain something else called enlightenment.
Whenever the personal identity, its seeking, its hopes and dreams seem
threatened, there can be a rejection of this message and a return to that
which seems to serve and support the uniquely human illusion of self-
autonomy leading to self-fulfillment. The impersonal message can then be
seen as judgmental or nihilistic and may even be felt to be “unloving”
because it leaves the “person” with nothing.
154
sacredvalleytribe.com
It isn’t difficult . . . it’s impossible . . . and wonderfully irrelevant because
there is nothing separate to grasp. Wholeness is already all there is! It is
the unbounded, impersonal, unconditional freedom which is complete . . .
nothing is needed by that which is everything!
However, and this is the paradox, wholeness, being everything, can also
appear as anything:
So, should the seeker climb the spiritual mountain or simply let go and
surrender to life? . . . is that the question? Or is it possible that there is no
question and no answer.
Maybe what is sought is all there is. Perhaps the beloved that is longed for
is already constantly happening . . . it never went away . . . the seeker did,
to look for it.
Perhaps, when the seeking dream dissolves into that unbounded energy,
which sees no separation and has no agenda or expectation, then suddenly
that longing is embraced in that unconditional love that is no-ones.

Already Being
What is sought remains hidden from the seeker by already being
everything.
It is so obvious and simple that the grasping of it obscures it. Never found,
never knowable, being is the consummate absence that is beyond
measure.
The very intention to seek for a mythical treasure within life inevitably
obscures the reality that life is already the treasure.
By seeking the myth it dreams it can attain, the seeker effectively avoids
that which it most fears … its absence.
Liberation is like a fuse that suddenly blows, and all the little lights go out
and there is only light.
This isn’t about seeking or not seeking; it’s beyond the concepts of Advaita
and non-dualism and beyond the idea of reaching states of awareness or
mindfulness. There’s no goal. There’s nothing on offer. This is totally
beyond knowing.
All the time there’s separation there’s a sense of loss, there’s a sense of a
feeling that there’s something that isn’t whole. And so the seeker attempts
to fill that void, fill it with something – whatever. And some look to
something called “enlightenment” because it is felt that enlightenment might
be the thing that will fill this sense of loss; it could be the answer to some
secret that we don’t quite get.
156
sacredvalleytribe.com
And it sounds, when we read about enlightenment, as though somebody
else has found the secret. But nobody’s found the secret.
You can go all over the world and find teachings offering something to get.
It is rare, however, to find an uncompromising communication that offers
nothing at all to the seeker.
This aliveness is nothing being everything. It’s just life happening. It’s not
happening to anyone. There’s a whole set of experiences happening here
and they’re happening in emptiness … they’re happening in free fall.
They’re just what’s happening. All there is is life. All there is is beingness.
There isn’t anyone that ever has or does not have it. There’s nobody that
has life and somebody else doesn’t have life. There just is life being life.
This message is so simple it totally confounds the mind. This message is
too simple. Already your mind’s saying, “Yes, but come on … what about
the levels of enlightenment and what about my emotional blocks, and what
about my chakras, they’re not all fully open? What about my stillness – I’m
not really still yet, and what about my ego? Somebody told me I still have
an ego … it’s a bit reduced but it’s still there.”
But all of that, all of those ideas are adopted lessons about how it should
be. The ego is what’s happening. The ego is just being ego. Thinking is just
being thinking. There is only being. There is just being. There’s nothing
else. There’s nobody that’s running that. There’s no destiny, there’s no God,
there’s no plan, there’s no script, there’s nowhere to go because there is
only timeless being. Being is totally whole just being. And it is alive and
157
sacredvalleytribe.com
fleshy and sexy and juicy and immediately this; it’s not some concept about
‘there’s no-one here’. It’s not some concept about ‘there’s nowhere to go’. It
is the aliveness that’s in that body right now. There is pure beingness, pure
aliveness. That’s it. End of story.
There is no answer to life because life is its own answer. It’s happening
already. It’s this. You never lost it. That’s the amazing thing about liberation.
When liberation apparently happens people say, “It’s amazing because the
thing I was looking for has never left me. It’s the one thing that never comes
and never goes – the one constant that can’t be known or held onto.” And
the one constant is being.

As “the story” unfolds, so the self learns to know “the world out there” and
attempts to negotiate the best deal possible for itself . . . it apparently takes
action to find pleasure and avoid pain. The greater the knowledge the more
effective the action, the results and the apparent sense of personal control .
. . or so it seems.
All of these efforts bring varying results, and so the individual comes to
know fluctuating states of gratification and disappointment. However, it can
be noticed that there seems to be an underlying sense of dissatisfaction
which drives the self to find a deeper meaning.
Because the apparent self can only exist through its own knowing, its
search for a deeper meaning will be limited to that which it can know and
experience for itself. Within these limitations there are a multitude of
doctrines, therapies, ideologies, spiritual teachings and belief systems that
the seeker can come to know. There can also be the knowing and
experiencing of states of silence, stillness, bliss, awareness and
detachment, all of which seem to come and go like night and day.
So the self is the separate seeker that pursues everything that it thinks it
can know and do, excepting the absence of itself. That absence is the
emptiness which is unknowable, but paradoxically is also the very fullness,
the wholeness (paradise) that is longed for.
159
sacredvalleytribe.com
Should the apparent seeker meet with a perception which reveals in great
depth the real nature of separation and also exposes, without compromise,
the sublime futility of seeking, there can be a collapse of the construct of
the separate self. That totally impersonal message carries with it a
boundless energy into which the seemingly contracted energy of self
unfolds. A resonance can arise which is beyond self awareness . . .
something ineffable can be sensed . . . a fragrance and an opening to the
wonder of unknowing can emerge.
160
sacredvalleytribe.com
The Open Secret does not compromise with the needs and expectations of
the seeker. Neither does it attempt to attract or please with promises of an
easy and pleasant experience of liberation. Who could promise that and
who would experience it?
Because the idea of individual free will and choice is seen as an illusory
dream, there is no agenda or intention to help or change individuality. As far
as the apparent individual is concerned, there is nothing for sale here.
The sense of being a separate individual feels very real and affects every
part of that apparent experience. It is a state of contracted energy which
becomes embodied and which brings with it a feeling of disquiet and
longing. There can be a held sense of feeling unworthy and of having lost
something indescribable. It is as though the “me” resides within the
boundaries of the body and sees everything outside as something else with
which it has to negotiate. Out of these experiences is generated a
compulsion to continuously seek comfort or release. This is the dream of
individuality which seems real until it doesn’t.
The “me” searches for peace and fulfillment, the “me” searches for self
improvement or purity, presence or detachment. The “me” seeks clarity or
any formula which will give the “me” what it thinks it wants or needs. But the
“me” not getting what it wants is not the dilemma. The dilemma is “me”.
No amount of effort, process, clarity or belief can ever bring anything other
than more “me” searching for that which the “me” cannot have or know.
161
sacredvalleytribe.com
only a thought or a belief, it could be seen through or changed to its
opposite, and then “BINGO” there would be liberation . . . you would think!
In essence what is sought is love. But it is the love that is absolute, all-
embracing and eternal. It is this overwhelming love that many have
glimpsed, and which I attempted to describe in The Open Secret when I
seemed to be walking across a park and then was no more anyone. It
wasn’t experienced because there was suddenly no experiencer. It was a
glimpse that no-one glimpsed. I then returned as “a someone” and tried
again and again to re-discover that unconditional love which I could not
know.
It is that love which is alluded to in literature, music and art. The most
fascinating love stories are about unrequited love, because they point to
that absolute love which the individual cannot possess. The powerful
fascination of falling in love comes out of a primal sense that in that love
you could be lost. It is that overwhelming love which is in all of our longing
and is the fullness in the emptiness, the everything in the nothing. It is
unconditional love which also appears as its opposite. Wonderfully, it is also
that very love which constantly sings to us through our senses and in every
part of the aliveness that is happening.
162

Many teachers believe and recommend that, in order to resolve the real
and constant sense of separation and become enlightened, the individual
should choose to follow a progressive spiritual path. This path involves
practice, meditation, self-enquiry and the eradication of ego and ignorance
through a clear understanding of the scriptures and the guidance of a
teacher.
163
sacredvalleytribe.com
Many so called “non dual” teachers confirm that enlightenment is
something that can be described in words, and attained and known by the
individual mind when it acquires the knowledge that there is only a non-dual
reality.
164
sacredvalleytribe.com
The dilemma for the dream seeker is that the feeling of separation drives
the seeking for resolution, which further fuels the sense of separation.
The separate entity can only try to imagine or project an idea of what it
must be like not to be separate. What is sought is the possibility of a future
goal or state that can be realized and therefore, logically, must be
approachable. Consequently, the function of seeking and the teaching of
becoming locks the seeker into a state of continuously approaching
something that it cannot comprehend. All of this is the expression of Being,
arising as the good, old, dependable and reliable understanding ‘mind’
functioning as it can only function . . . in continual movement and
anticipation. It is this activity of becoming which very effectively keeps the
seeker in the hypnotic dream of reaching out for something it cannot grasp.
Of course, Liberation can apparently happen despite all of this effort.
165
sacredvalleytribe.com
The only other hope for the dream seeker is to believe that another
benevolent energy (say God, Consciousness or a so-called enlightened
teacher) would be motivated to guide and influence the seeker along a path
which would eventually lead them to fulfillment. All of these ideas of
becoming, purpose and destiny arise in the dream.
But the paradox is that although Being appears as the dream seeker, Being
is not a state that can be imagined, conceived of, attained or even realized
by the seeking of it. Being requires absolutely nothing … it is the Nothing
and Everything that is already immaculate fulfillment and wholeness.
Nothing needs to be changed or attained, lost or found, for Being to simply
Be. The appearance of separation is simply the expression of Being. The
very idea of something needing to approach that which it already is, is
wonderfully futile.
The dream seeker feels a sense of loss and unworthiness, and so is very
attracted to dream teachings which involve purification, hard committed
effort, surrender, devotion and the development of renunciation and
detachment. There is a kind of logical inevitability and worthiness about
these ideas which resonates with the sense of lack. The almost endless
path of striving happily ensures the continuation of the individual
experience. These ideas seem to arise out of a very substantial and reliable
history of traditional wisdom which surely must be respected, even though it
is only available as words on bits of paper.
Two traditional ways which seek resolution, or escape, from the sense of
separation are meditation and self-enquiry.
166
sacredvalleytribe.com
There is a great emphasis on the need for properly carried out investigation
of thought processes etc, and the necessity for vigilance from “being
distracted by self-centered thoughts”.
All of this activity is based on the principle of the enquirer “getting oneness”
and maintaining personal possession of it.
Another way for the dream seeker to avoid simply Being is to try to
understand or develop clarity about its own nature. It is very easy to get
stuck in ‘Advaita’ or ‘non-dual’ concepts. The singular and unrelenting
reiteration of such ideas as “all there is is Being", “everything is the
expression of Being” or “there is no one” are an arid and simplistic form of
communication. It doesn't address or illuminate the dream seeker’s
apparent dilemma and it obviously ignores the primary energetic essence
of the implicit aliveness of simply Being. To continuously say that being
awake or being asleep is not relevant because “Being is all there is” is like
telling a blind person that it’s OK to be blind because “seeing is all there is”.
This is pure idealism. Of course, there is no such thing as being asleep or
being awake, but this is not seen until there is no one looking.
167
sacredvalleytribe.com
The idea of prescriptive teaching, guidance or the offer of any kind of help
simply does not arise. This is a message without hope or comfort of any
kind for the individual, but invariably the dream seeker will still believe that
something is on offer … this is the function of seeking. It is also possible
that all that will be left is nothing, and then another possibility could arise.
However, there is no agenda or motive because nothing is for sale.
The mind loves the idea of enlightenment being some kind of distant,
virtually unobtainable, perfect place of permanent bliss, free from suffering
and full of omniscience, omnipresence and lots of other important ‘omni’s’
stomping around, shouting the odds and saving the world. And of course,
because all this glory and specialness has to be attained, it seems there
has to be a long haul through the dark night of the soul, endless past
karmas, original sin, right-thinking, right action and preparation for the
bardos. “It is a tale told by a fool, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
Yet Natural Being is such an ordinary and gentle constant. When it is seen
it is. When it is avoided it is. It requires no effort and demands no
standards. Being timeless there is no path to tread, no debt to pay. When
this is heard and confusion collapses, when the contraction of struggling to
get something falls away and the vibrant energy of being aliveness
becomes apparent, something else is seen, very naturally of course,
because it is already all that is.
168
sacredvalleytribe.com
In that wholeness arises the idea "I am a separate individual". This seems
to be the beginning of a dream called "me being someone in a world
with which I have to negotiate”.
Here in this separation is the root of all fear and feeling of disquiet coming
out of a sense of loss. Again it is the appearance of oneness, and in that
appearance we embark on a journey in which we meet parents, teachers,
maybe priests, bosses and lovers, and learn how to get what we think
we want seemingly through personal choice and effort. The pursuit
of pleasure and the avoidance of pain generate transient experiences
of gratification and disappointment. The whole manifestation that we call life
is simply the drama of oneness looking for itself, for all desire is the longing
for oneness.
169
sacredvalleytribe.com
The idea that presumes the possibility that dualistic practices can lead
the apparent seeker to the non-dualistic perception is similar to the idea
that with sufficient effort and determination you can teach a blind man to
see. To quote "Doctrines, processes and progressive paths which
seek enlightenment only exacerbate the problem they address by
reinforcing the idea that the apparent self can find something it presumes it
has lost. It is that very effort, that investment in self-identity that
continuously recreates the illusion of separation from oneness. This is the
veil which we believe exists. It is the dream of individuality." (The Open
Secret)
Out of all the many awakenings that have been described to me, it is
continuously confirmed that one of the first realizations that arises is
the seeing that no-one awakens. And yet we see that the majority of
teachings, both traditional and contemporary, are constantly speaking to an
apparent separate seeker (subject) and recommending that in order to
attain enlightenment (object) they should choose to meditate, self enquire,
purify, cultivate understanding, still the mind and the ego, surrender,
be honest, seek earnestly , give up seeking, do therapy, do nothing, be
here now, and so on . . . the ideas are as endless and as complicated as
the mind from where they are generated.
170
sacredvalleytribe.com
These recommendations arise from the belief that the "enlightenment"
of the "teacher" has been attained or earned through the application
of choice, effort, acceptance or surrender, an d that other seekers can
be taught to do the same.
However, the realisation that the dream seeker is also oneness is liberation,
the uncaused, impersonal, silent stillness which is the celebration of
unconditional love. This is all there is.
171
sacredvalleytribe.com
The belief that there is a separate seeker (subject) who can choose to
attain or become worthy of something called enlightenment (object) is a
direct denial of abiding oneness (Advaita).
All of this silly circus is simply the eternal play of oneness apparently
seeking itself. It is the wonderful cosmic joke oneness plays on itself by
pretending to be an individual seeking something called “not being an
individual”.

Notes from youTube video “Free Will vs Determinism - Does Free Will
Exist?
That means you don’t control your thoughts, you don’t control your actions,
you don’t control your habits, your desires, your emotions, or your
motivation level, or your success or your failure in life. Basically you don't
have control on anything at all.
And the reason that this is, is because there is no “self” who can have
control.
The assumption that exist in the Free Will vs Determinism debate is that
there is a self in the first place who can have free will, and this is not the
case.
174
sacredvalleytribe.com
If you observe your thoughts in real time as they arise, what you notice is
that you can’t stop your thoughts, not for even thirty seconds. That is
enough to at least make you suspicious about this idea of Free Will. Why
can’t you if you have control. Your mind is always running from one thought
to another.
If you go deeper you will notice that you don’t even know what your next
thought is going to be. You don’t know what is coming next in your mind.
You think you know but you don't really know.
So you don’t really control your thoughts, since you can’t control them. Nor
you can’t control your actions.
Who would be in control? Who is exactly having free will? You think is you,
the ego, the self. Actually, the self is just an illusion. It doesn’t really exist.
What the self really is not a physical entity. It is a collection of mental
images, mental auditory labels, and body sensations. When this three
things intermingle then it is created a very solid illusion of a you, and it is to
that you that we attribute free will and thing that this ego is making choices
and decisions in life, like the CEO that is abiding inside your head.
Thoughts appear out of literally nowhere. You don’t create them, they
happen to you. Most of the thoughts are created by external stimulus. What
you watch, read, people you talk to. Thoughts arise in autopilot, in a
random and scatter way.
Your actions and behaviors are not control by you because there is no you
inside. There are a lot of subsystems within your mind that simultaneous
are triggering the action and the arising of the thought. You are not the one
who is causing the action, you are something that is also a thought that is
arising. So you yourself are a thought. You are not a physical thing, you are
a thought.
175
sacredvalleytribe.com
Your life history, past experiences with apples and bananas, your cultural
background, your DNA inherited from your parents, taste preferences,
healthy perspectives and beliefs in the mind, teachers advices, past
memories, your parents and siblings… All of this is coming into play.
Based on all that, the mind then constructs its preferences and it then make
decisions. The mind is able to process amazing quantities of information
and you are not conscious of 99.9% of any of it. You not only do not control
it but you don’t even have awareness of it. Many things are happening
within your body without a single input from you.
When you take a decision, it appears that you are choosing but what
actually is happening is that a thought is arising at the same time, and the
thought claims control over the decision. That’s how the illusion is created.
What you are, the thing we call “you”, this ego, what that is is not not an
input into the system, it’s actually an output of the system.
Clarifications
• An enlightened yogi that has reached enlightenment has realized that
there is not such a thing as a self and of course they realized that there is
not such a thing as control, and completely surrender themselves to the
idea of no free will. There is no more self inside of them. And what his
allows them to do is to flow with life. Now for everything he does there is
no resistance in it. There is no internal suffering or struggle anymore. He
is flowing with life and that looks effortless.
176
sacredvalleytribe.com
• There are teachings that will tell you to take full responsibility of your life
and they are no wrong. They are exactly what some people need to hear
the point they are in their particular journeys. This no free will teaching is
a very advance teaching for a different audience.
This will not work with a wounded low self esteem ego. You need to
develop a strong and healthy ego before you can release and transcend
ego. A weak ego is not easy to release. You are so busy trying to protect
your ego and defend yourself that you’re not able to let go of it. You need to
take responsibility and transcend the victim and become a creator before
realizing the next level of surrendering control.
• Motivation does not comes from you. You get inspired by something or
disgusted by something outside from you. You are not separate from
nature, you’re a part of nature.
• All esoteric core religions tell you need to surrender yourself. They tell
you that your arrogance is separating you from God. What does that
mean? Poetically speaking, who you are, the ego is the devil. Lucifer. The
devil is not some other entity living somewhere in the shadows. The devil
is you. You separate yourself from god. How do you do that? By acting
arrogant, by claiming power over things which you have no power. God in
this case refers to reality, All that is, to the source which is nothingness.
Not to an anthropomorphic figure floating somewhere in the sky.
You are fundamentally frustrated in life because you believe you have
control when actually you do not. That’s the root of almost all your problems
in life. If you tale a leap of faith and actually surrender yourself to nature, to
reality, then what happens is there are not more problems, life flows
smoothly for you. There is no more internal struggle, no more self
interference. You were never in control at the first place.
177
sacredvalleytribe.com
Big decisions will become effortless for you because you will realize that
you are flowing with life, and that you are not the one making this decisions
in the first place. All decision where made for you but you agonize about
decision because you believe you where the one controlling them.
Imagine that you where sitting in a car and somebody else was driving the
car but you where deluded enough to believe that you where in control. So
that when they take a turn to the left you struggle asking yourself what’s
wrong, it was supposed to turn to the right. Surrender yourself to the fact
that you are not the driver. Enjoy the sounds and sight and enjoy the trip.
If your aim in life is happiness and peace of mind, your current strategy for
acquiring it is get more control in life. You think it is gonna work but it is not
gonna work, Think about how else could peace of mind could be possible,
other than if you surrender yourself to nature.
At least start by admitting the possibility that you have been wrong your
whole life about having free will. Open your mind and admit that maybe it is
possible that you do not have control.

Heart Feeling
Remember a time when you felt good inside, and try to re-experience that
feeling. Focus on this good feeling as you continue to breathe through the
area of your heart.
Heart-Shift
1. Notice what you are feeling.
2. Shift to your heart. (your heart that is feeling)
3. Breathe a feeling of calm. (to the heart that is feeling. Not instead).
Breathe slowly and easily. Imagine the air flowing in and out of your
heart area. Take your time breathing in and out. Do this three to five
times.
Breathing Appreciation
Heart Breathing
Focus your attention on your heart area, and breathe a little deeper than
normal, in for 5 or 6 seconds and out 5 or 6 seconds.
Heart Focus
Imagine breathing through your heart. Picture yourself slowly breathing in

Repeating this practice twice during the course of each day is required to

perceptual tools as instructed.
• Sit with your back comfortably straight and eyes closed (not it your
bed). Ensure you are comfortably warm.
• Connected breathing means that we breathe in and out without pausing
(no long breathless gaps between our breaths). We breathe in an alert
manner, with our breathing loud enough for us to hear ourselves.
• We apply active effort to our in-breath, whereas the out-breath is
automatic, but we ensure that both our in-breath and our out-breath are
of an even duration.
• We intend to breathe in such a manner that our inhalation and
exhalation are one continuous rhythmic pattern.
• Nose breathing is preferable. When our nose is blocked, we use our
mouth. However, we don’t use both nose and mouth.
• We may initially require an alarm device to assist us in keeping time.
We synchronize our breathing and mental activity in this manner: “I” on the
in-breath, “AM” on the out-breath, “HERE” on the in-breath, “NOW” on the
out-breath, “IN on the in-breath, and “THIS” on the out-breath, using the

same words for each cycle of in-breaths and out-breaths. This conscious
response is for our breathing practice only.

As we develop, we express ourselves according to what we perceive to be
appropriate in the eyes of our mother and father. The consequence of this
initial dependency is that on an unconscious level, our motivation for the
way we eat, dress, bathe, and behave today is almost solely sourced from
the reflected physical presence of others and hence is reactive. We
unconsciously use these “others” as ongoing reflections of our mother and
father. Through the physical presence of others, we still attempt to please
our mother and father as a means of gaining their approval and
unconditional acceptance.
During our teenage years, this behavior is transformed and transferred into
a desire to “fit in” with peer groups. By the time we enter adulthood, this
need for external validation becomes cloaked as a desire “to appear
responsible” and “to get ahead.”
Although our experience comes and goes, ever changing, “we” remain –
participating, observing, and witnessing. Ten years ago our experience was
different, yet the part of us that was having this experience then is still here
now, in this moment.

relationships or early childhood, you may expect all present-day
disagreements to end badly. You may view conflict in relationships as
demoralizing, humiliating, dangerous, and something to fear. If your early
life experiences also left you feeling out of control and powerless, conflict
may even be traumatizing for you.
If you view conflict as dangerous, it tends to become a self-fulfilling
prophecy. When you go into a conflict situation already feeling extremely
threatened, it’s tough to deal with the problem at hand in a healthy way.
Instead, you are more likely to shut down or blow up in anger.
If you are out of touch with your feelings or so stressed that you can only
pay attention to a limited number of emotions, you won’t be able to
understand your own needs. And, if you don’t understand your own needs,
you will have a hard time communicating with others and staying in touch
with what's really troubling you. For example, couples often argue about
petty differences—the way she hangs the towels, the way he slurps his
soup—rather than what is really bothering them.
186

• Control your emotions and behavior. When you’re in control of
your emotions, you can communicate your needs without
threatening, frightening, or punishing others.
• Pay attention to the feelings being expressed as well as the
spoken words of others.
• Be aware of and respectful of differences. By avoiding
disrespectful words and actions, you can almost always resolve a
problem faster.
To successfully resolve a conflict, you will need to learn and practice two
core skills: the ability to quickly reduce stress in the moment and the ability
to remain comfortable enough with your emotions to react in constructive
ways even in the midst of an argument or a perceived attack.
Being able to manage and relieve stress in the moment is the key to
staying balanced, focused, and in control, no matter what challenges you
face. If you don’t know how to stay centered and in control of yourself, you
will become overwhelmed in conflict situations and unable to respond in
healthy ways.

Anything you add after the I am is just static language, it’s a casket, and will
remain in this reality, will dissolve with this reality. So stay in the I am,
anything we add after that is just part of this fictional character, this sense
of identity projected, that we have been taught to create since childhood in
a society based on competition, in achieving. When you go inside, it looks a
little inauthentic in a way, to hold a fictional character based on concepts. It
is like a leaking balloon that you need to put air all the time, cause it is
leaking, and it will consume your lifeforce.
So just stay in the “I am”. And the beauty of that is that there is nothing to
depend at all. There is nothing to defend. You stay in the realm of being. In
the realm of doing you can define your behaviors which is not who you are,
it’s what you like to do, what you are doing. It’s like, people ask me “Diego,
are you a shaman?” What that means for you? I love yo serve medicine, I
know how to do it. It doesn’t make me who I am. Who I am is beyond that.
This is the experience I am having.
So remember, there is the realm of being, in which “I am” is the only truth
you can hold, and there is the realm of doing where you can “do” many
things. But don’t mix them, don’t confuse yourselves. Just be present.
Detach yourselves from all believe systems, question them all the time.
Remember, “a believe is an unnecessary overlay on top of simple reality.”
So get in touch with simple reality, stay there, feeling the kindness in the
flow of life, the beauty of the silence, becoming the witness.

your state of being, your vibration. But it’s completely devoid of built in
meaning, like empty props. You put the meaning to everything. It is actually
amazing. And one of the main problems in society is that we do not
understand this simple law, and we see that people are fighting with the
reflection, not understanding in an emotional level that it is just a reflection
of your own core vibration.
So vibrate the highest that you can all the time. That’s the key. If you vibrate
high, the reflection is going to be amazing. If you are vibrating low, the
reflection is going to be nasty.
And how we do that? How we vibrate the highest we can? This is not a
thing of planning the future. This is a thing of this moment, which is the only
moment that exist, the now. And it’s the same moment. In every now
moment, follow your bliss, follow your excitement, what makes you expand
the most, the sharing, the giving, the love within. Follow your bliss, follow
your dreams all the time. If your excitement changes to something different,
change with it. You are going to be a lot more efficient if you are really
doing what you like to do, what you love to do, what you feel excited to do.
Question everything, all the believes that you are holding, because you
know, ignorance is not about not knowing something, ignorance is about
knowing something that is not true. So become radical skeptical, question
everything, religion, tradition, sacredness. Shed light into every aspect of
your being, because if you do not do it, you are going to be living from the
tape recorder, from the subconscious programing. So it’s in our hands to
take full responsibility of our vibration, our feelings, deeply. To learn how to
handle them deeply, to integrate them, to heal all our wounds, to bring them
to the surface and heal them completely, so we can vibrate the highest we
can.
And remember, don’t do anything that is not coming out from lower
vibrations like guilt, anger, fear of rejection, shame, duty, obligation, blame.
If you do something coming from this lower vibrations, someone is going to
190

pay for it. Your brother, your sister, your husband, your wife, your children,
your parents, your friends, your co-workers, yourself. Someone is going to
pay for it. It’s good to say no. To take full responsibility of your vibration is
also having the courage. It’s good to say no if it is not coming from your
heart, from your will to contribute into life, to make life better. If you feel it is
not coming from really your heart, don’t do it. All the time remembering,
what you put out is what you get back.
Follow your bliss and let the manifestation bring beautiful realities following
the path of least resistance, of abundance, of synchronicity. Also, following
your bliss, your excitement is a good tool, because it would show you
immediately why you are not following your bliss, what believe is holding
you back. And that will be the next belief you have to dismantle, really shed
light into that, to find like a worm hole to another believe that is more
grounded there in fear.
Enjoy the ride. Enjoy this beautiful incarnation. One day you will wake up
from this dream to your higher reality, because when you die nobody is
going to turn the switch off, because the is no switch off. Existence is
infinite. To explore, infinite. Awareness is. In different realms, awareness is.
Infinite, Unconditional. Existence is letting us put the conditions, our own
limitations. And it’s in our hands to really push the boundaries.
There is something that is important and I will also like to share with you.
You know, the highest vibration that we are all looking for is love. Love. We
have been looking for love since the day we left the breast of our mother.
Everything is just a cry for love. Every argument is a cry for love. Every
dysfunctional in our behavior is a cry for love. Every addiction is a cry for
love. We are all the time looking for that, because when you get it nothing
matters outside.
For example, after a ceremony I feel like my heart is bursting with love. It is
beautiful. The next day is amazing for me. The connection with everyone,
with my children, with life, with my dogs, everything. You are heart
centered, and you can go in the street and someone cross you with the car
and it doesn’t matter. When you are really well inside nothing is going to
disturb you. It is a beautiful sensation. So when we feel love inside we are
really fulfilled in a way. Beautiful state full of gratitude and higher vibrations.
We are all looking for that at every moment. And you know, there is a way
for that. And they do not teach us that in the school. It is all about
competition. It is horrible the way e have been growing up. Self love is not a
topic in schools, and we need that, because love have to come from within.

We are all the time looking it outside and is not going to fulfill the hole we
feel inside, it has to come from within. And the way to do it starts with a
radical acceptation of who you are, completely, with all your shadow, with
all the aspects that you do not want to show to anyone, with all your
addictions, your bad behaviors, everything that you do not like about
yourself. You first have to really hug the whole of you completely.
You do not have to be on your best to cross the gates of heaven. Life is
accepting you as you are now. I love you. Sit down and say to yourself “I
love you”. Recognizing all this shadow that is your inner child looking for
your attention, longing for your attention, all these hidden aspects. Embrace
completely yourselves and radically accept you as you are, “I love you, I
love you”.
Hug yourself. Sit down and hug yourself and say to yourself, relentlessly “I
love you”. Because self love is not something you are going to realize in a
moment. It is just a practice. It is like learning to play the guitar. It needs
your time, your dedication. At the beginning, it can sound a little inauthentic,
but if you repeat it to yourself, “I love you”, “I accept you completely”, you
will allow your subconscious mind to start to feel the sensations of that in
your body. And it is really beautiful and makes a whole difference. The more
you love you, it’s going to be easier to change all that behaviors, but they
have to be really integrated and accepted instead of being rejected.
Because you know, there is a three word mantra: “Sometimes life sucks”.
Very real, sometimes life sucks. When life is going your way it is so
beautiful, so amazing, everything is in harmony and beauty. But when life is
not going your way, then life sucks. There is a big gap there. So we need to
learn how to close that gap. It’s very natural that life sucks. There is nothing
wrong.

You complain and you discuss with the guy that is causing you the anger,
you think so. And life is giving you the repetition of the same kind of events,
again and again, and again, until you learn how to handle that, instead of
reacting, how to respond from within, from the calm within. And the way to
do it is the same way you would do it outside. For example, if you see a 5
year old child that you love deeply, and is weeping in tears, in pain, our
natural reaction would be to go and hug the child with all our love, to calm
him down with all our love, and eventually we know it will work.
You hug the one feeling the anger is not about trading the anger with love,
no, is to feel the anger deeply, unconditionally and you hug the one feeling
it, you integrate it. And you know, it is going toe amazing if you try it
because you are going to start feeling other feeling coming to the surface
immediately that were pushed down to the basement. They will start to go
up to be integrated in the loving embrace that you are giving to yourself,
and the healing is miracle, is beautiful, is an amazing way, and you will
have a tool to use that is working, and you will learn how to close the gap.
And you will say, “If life doesn’t go my way, is ok.” It do not mean that you
do not have a plan, it means that you accept that life is changing all the
time, and many times is out of your hands. What is in your hands is how to
respond instead of reacting.

Closing Ceremony Satsang (2016/06/09) *****
Diego Palma
This reality that seems so real is just an illusion, like a hologram, but
the experience of it is very real, but just behaves in the same way as
a glass mirror, reflecting constantly our vibration, our state of being,
but behaving in the same way as a glass mirror.
What you put out is what you get back, simple as that. What you put
out is what you get back, your reflection, a reflection of your state of
being. If you are vibrating very low inside the reflection is going to be
nasty, if you are vibrating the highest you can, the reflection is going
to be amazing, but is completely in your hands, so take full
responsibility of your vibration, of how you are vibrating, what are
you doing, what are you listening to, what habits are you cultivating,
194

because that is what determine the reality that is going to be
reflected.
if you are vibrating the highest you can you will see a path of
sinchronicity, of abundance, magic happening to your life, embracing
it, but first you have to take full responsibility of your vibration.
How we vibrate the highest we can? Every moment, and this is not a
thing of projecting a future, it’s in the now moment, in the only
moment that exists, which is the same moment, every now moment
follow your bliss, follow your excitement, what excite you the most,
what makes you expand the most, like feeling whole inside, like
feeling joy, feel excited for what you re doing, enjoying it deeply,
follow your dreams, dream wild. The wildest you dream you will bring
this possibility into manifestation, do not waste your time, This life is
just an exploration, live it fully.
In the last ceremony, I was talking about the importance of self love,
to really embrace out heart, to embrace ourselves and love
ourselves unconditionally, radically. There are moments, when it is
very difficult, when you are not feeling well, when you are feeling
anger, frustrated, when is very difficult to do that, but first lets accept
it.

There is a three word mantra, “Sometimes life sucks.” Very real,
sometimes life sucks. When life is going your way, everything is
harmony and beautiful, when life is not going your way, it sucks, and
it happened very often, it’s normal, is part of the deal of being here. A
good master will say, “If life does not go my way, is ok.” But we
usually want life to go our way.
Think about, if you see a 5 year old child that you really treasure and
love in your heart. This child is weeping in tears weeping in pain.
What do you do like naturally? You go and hug the child with all your
love, and the child will eventually calm down feeling all this love. We
do it outside, but we do it completely opposite inside, and that is the
way to proceed. When you are feeling anger, the first thing is to
dismiss the messenger, dismiss the person you think is causing the
anger completely, there are just a messenger, they are showing you
something you need to integrate. Give thanks to the person it s
giving you the opportunity to heal for good.
Dismiss the person and stay with your anger, instead of rejecting it,
feel it fully, look at it unconditionally, feel it inside, witness it
unconditionally, looking at it to the center, to understand how it feels
the color, the center, the substance. Without rejecting it, without
wanting it to disappear, just really for the first time embrace it
completely, feel it and then hug the one feeling it, in love. That is the
child and you are the one on top, saying “I love you, I love you”. It is
not changing the anger for love, is not an interchange, you embrace
the one feeling the anger.
196

You will be amaze of the results. You will feel things that where deep
inside coming to the surface. All the rejected emotions will start to
come to the surface, to this healing of unconditionality and embrace
of love. That is the way of healing deeply, try it, just try it, give it a
chance. Then you will feel that you have like a tool that works.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much,
with no sorrow for what they do.
But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking
poison and wishing your enemy to die. I have struggled with these feelings
many times.” He continued, “It is as if there are two wolves inside me. One
is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him, and
does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight
when it i right to of so, and in the right way.
But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him int a
fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think
because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless anger, for his anger
will change nothing.
Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of
them try to dominate my spirit.”
The boy looked intently into his Grandfather’s eyes and asked, “Which one
wins, Grandfather?”
