THERMOGRAPH 79

Thermograph 79 is a precision instrument for continuous recording of temperature to scientific and technical ends, for outdoors and indoors installation, alike. It is used in meteorological and climatological measurement, in aviation, in agricultural and horticultural enterprises, industrial and working premises, recreation rooms, hospitals, drying plants, refrigerating plants, storage rooms, laboratories, test stands, etc. A measuring element serves a ring-shaped bimetal, which stretches or bends itself with changes in temperature. These changes of shape are transmitted to the arm carrying the pen, by means of a lever system. All bearing beds consist of corrosion-resistant materials. The pen rests on the chart with constant and equal pressure, by the proper weight of the pen arm and may be lifted-off from without. The measuring element is arranged outside of the casing so that the ambient air is, unhindered, washing around it and reacts with a minimum of inertia. The metal casing has been lacquered with an especially protective weatherproof coating of a lightgray varnish, which, owing to its smooth, shiny surface may, easily, be cleaned of dust. The upper part of the casing, which is fitted by means of a hinge, is flapped back for servicing. When closed, it is held by a catch lock. Time of rotation of the drum may be chosen 1 week or 1 day, according to requirements. A reversing clock from 1 day to 1 week may be had at an extra charge.

Measuring accuracy is 0.2 C, in the case of medium temperatures, and 0.5 C, in the case of temperatures below zero and above 50 C. The instrument may be supplied with two contacts, adjustable to whatever values, for signaling one upper and one lower limiting value of temperature or to actuate a controlling device. The contacts are suited for low voltage (42 volts direct voltage or alternating voltage) and for a load at 0.05 amps, at which formation of sparks is to be suppressed, however, by parallel connection of a condenser with quenching resistance. In order to deal with higher electric power, suitable relays are to be used.
