Operation Rahat-
It was conducted by Indian Indian Air Force to evacuate civilians affected by the North India floods
from 17th June,2013nds Thousa of pilgrims in transit in the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal
Pradesh were stranded in various valleys.

Operation Maitri-
It was launched by Indian Army and Indian Govt.(NDRF)to relief or to aid Nepal from Nepal
government’s request after earthquake on 25th April 2015.It was started from 26th April.

Operation Sun Rise-


It was conducted along Indo-Myanmar border in Assam,Nagaland,Manipur against NSCN-National
Socialist Council of Nagaland in 2015.
In 2019 jointly Indo-Myanmer attacked against this terrorist org.in June,2019 that is called Sun Rise

Operation Rakshak: Conducted by Indian army to prevent terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir
started from 1990.

Operation Rahat –It was an operation conducted by Indian Airforce to evacuate Indian citizens and
foreign nationals from Yemen with the help of Indian Navyduring the 2015 military intervention by
Saudi Arabia and its allies in that country during the Yemeni Crisis. The evacuation by sea began on 1
April 2015 from the port of Aden.(1st April to 11th April,2015)

Operation MeghRahat- Conducted by northern command of Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir to
meet the challenge posed by devastating floods in Srinagar city and some other parts of the state
from 2nd to 19th September,2014.
.Operation Sahayata-conducted by Indian Army for the same purpose.

Jammu and Kashmir started from 1998.it is a ongoing operation till now.

Operation Calm Down-Conducted by Indian Army to clear militants and demonstrators after the
death of Hizbul Mujahideen Burhan Wani in South of Jammu and Kashmir from 2016.

Operation Sulaimani – Conducted Kozhikode, a city in Kerala, it is a a food programme with a motto
to avoid food wastage and to provide free food to the poverty stricken section of the district.
Started by Prasanth Nair the district collector of Kozikhode.

Operations Rhino and Bajrang –Launched by Indian Army from 1990 against the separatist groups of
Assam specially ‘ULFA –United Liberation Force of Assam’.This is also called Operation All Clear.

Operation Samudra Maitri- It is the relief effort launched by Indian Airforce and Navy(INS Tir ,INS
Sujata & INS Shardul )to assist the victims of Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia started
from 6th October 2018.

Operation Three Star- it was the code name of the top secret plan in which Jaish-e-Mohammad
terrorist Afzal Guru was hanged on 9th February 2013,in Tihar Jail.

Operation X- It is the mission under which Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Ajmal Kasab was hanged in
Pune's Yerwada jail on 21 st November,2012.

This was a naval offensive operation launched on Pakistan's port city of Karachi by the Indian Navy

annually on 4 December to mark this operation.

Operation Python-This was a naval offensive operation launched on Pakistan's port city of Karachi by

Operation Dhangu Suraksha-


the operation launched by NSG, Garud commandos of IAF on 2nd
January 2016 to neutralised terrorists of Jaish -e-Mohammad who attacked Pathankot air base in
Punjab.
The name of place was Dhangu.

Indian Navy has successfully completed its 55 days and 23,000 kilometers long ‘Operation Samudra
Setu’, which was launched on May 5, 2020 as a part of the national effort to repatriate (bring back)
Indian citizens from 3 countries of Maldives, Iran, and Sri Lanka during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under this operation 3,992 Indian citizens were brought back to India, which was conducted by
Indian Naval Ships (INS) Jalashwa, and INS Airavat, INS Shardul and INS Magar (Landing Ship
Tanks).This operation was undertaken by the Indian Navy in close coordination with the Ministry of
External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
(MoHFW) and various other agencies of the Government of India (GoI) and State Governments.

Amidst the global coronavirus crisis, India launched an 18-hour operation called 'Operation
Sanjeevani' to deliver 6.2 tonnes of essential medicines and hospital consumables to Maldives. The
Indian Air Force lifted medicines from airports in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Madurai and
delivered to the Maldives. The Indian Army facilitated the transport of these medicines and
consumables from warehouses across India to the respective airports

Operation SHIELD. - Sealing, Home quarantine, Isolation and tracing, Essential supply, Local

Treating the current coronavirus wave like a war, the armed forces have launched operation "CO-
JEET" to aid anti-COVID-19 efforts, like strengthening medical infrastructure and oxygen supply
chains, as well as take measures to ensure mental wellbeing of people.(May,2021)
Lt. Gen. Kanitkar, who is the third woman to become a three-star general in the armed forces, is
working round the clock to strategise and monitor steps to provide relief to COVID-19 patients.

"Under the CO-JEET" plan, personnel of the three wings of the armed forces -- the Army, the Indian

Army sources said “Operation Randori Behak”, which also involved the use of helicopters and spy
drones (unmanned aerial vehicles), was launched after the footprints of infiltrators were spotted in
the Jumgund area near the LoC on April 1,2020.

Operation Chequerboard (or Checker Board) was a high-altitude military exercise conducted by
India along the Chinese border in North East India during the spring of 1987, in the midst of
the Sumdorong Chu(In 1986–87, a military standoff took place between India and China in
the Sumdorong Chu Valley bordering the Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh and Cona
County, Tibet) standoff.
The exercise involved 10 divisions of the Indian Army and several squadrons of the IAF and a
redeployment of troops at several places in North East India.

Operation Flood, launched on 13 January 1970, was the world's largest dairy development program
and a landmark project of India's National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It transformed India
from a milk-deficient nation into the world's largest milk producer, surpassing the United States of
America in 1998
it was the making of skim milk powder out of buffalo milk. The man who made this possible
was Harichand Megha Dalaya.The Anand Pattern Experiment at Amul, a dairy co-operative, was the
engine behind the success of the program.
Verghese Kurien, the chairman and founder of Amul, was named the Chairman of NDDB by the then
Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri. Kurien thrust the program towards success and has since
been recognized as its architect.

Operation Python, a follow-up to Operation Trident, was the code name of a naval attack launched
on West Pakistan's port city of Karachi by the Indian Navy during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
After the first attack during Operation Trident on the Port of Karachi, Pakistan stepped up aerial
surveillance of its coast as the presence of large Indian Navy ships gave the impression that another
attack was being planned. Pakistani warships attempted to outsmart the Indian Navy by mingling
with merchant shipping. To counter these moves, Operation Python was launched on the night of
8/9 December 1971.

Operation Safe Homecoming: It was an operation launched by the Indian government on February
26, 2011 to evacuate its citizens, fleeing from the Libyan Civil War. The air-sea operation was
conducted by the Indian Navy and Air India.

Operation Sukoon was an operation carried out by the Indian Navy to evacuate Indian, Sri Lankan
and Nepalese nationals, as well as Lebanese nationals with Indian spouses, from the conflict zone
during the 2006 Lebanon War.

India on joined international search for the missing Malaysian passenger plane by deploying four
warships and three aircraft. The Boeing 777 which disappeared with 239 people, including five
Indians, on board is feared to have crashed near Andaman Sea. The joint search mission of the

Operation Anaconda was a military operation that took place in early March 2002 as part of the War
in Afghanistan. CIA paramilitary officers, working with their allies, attempted to destroy al-
Qaeda and Taliban forces. The operation took place in the Shahi-Kot Valley and Arma
Mountains southeast of Zormat.
