RECOMMENDATION
1. Research should be intensify in the students. Do not give their credentials (diploma,
TOR and among others if they are not able to submit their manuscript or hardbound. It is a
mandatory requirement.
2. Before the students deploy in their respective areas during OJT , they should have a
seminar (Dos and Don'ts during OJT, specifically Proper Decorum, Dress Code and among
others).
3. The incoming first year students should have a course orientation about the social work
program-expectations, challenges, faculty, research, and board exam.
4. The faculty of social work department should have separate faculty room intended to
address students concern, counselling, research consultation, faculty working place, students
outputs, projects, researches and documentation for easy access and storage for accreditation
purposes.
5. Discuss to the students the differences between the first course and second courser
(professional/already have bachelor degree) to prevent some issues and prejudices, like SW
professor let the second courser pass without attendance . The first courser SW students forgot
the nature of blended learning or modular approach intended for second courser.
6. Have a clear guidelines to those want to take a board exam. Students should be inform
a head of time for the review classes.
7. Have a additional and updated books, references in IDC Library for Social Work
Program. I noticed a very limited and old instructional materials for SW students.
8. Engage students more on extension services, like tree planting activity, coastal clean
up, community involvement and among others.
9. Invite resource speakers for supplementary knowledge, like HIV and AIDS, Child and
Youth Welfare and among others.
10. Have a marketing or advertising video of Social Work Program of IDC, features
success stories of students (alumni) and should be play during career counselling to different
schools to increase student awareness about Social Work course. Majority are not aware that
IDC offered SW course/program. Thank you so much and GOD Bless. IDC-Social Work Family
Based on the years I have stayed at IDC, I highly recommend to omit some of the
additional minor subjects that are redundant and less significant in the program, I also advice to
some teachers to be more realistic and focus on the present issues ang highlight the importance
of actual setting of social work practice especially in city here in Iloilo ..

I think, Field Instruction must be done in agencies where there are lot of challenging
situations that Social Work students will encounter..
It’s already almost good but I’ll just recommend that if ever the school can have an
experienced proctor and a strict one so the students will focus and intake a lot of learnings that
they will apply when they have a plan on getting a board exam.

-Facilities for Social Work play settings supported by the department. So that students
can visualize a real-life setting.
-Providing guest and resource speakers on a non-regular basis on a topic they specialize
to ensure clarity and avoid teacher workload stress which leads to inability or ineffective teaching.
-Students please don't just buy a book for display read the book These are examples to
many but it all comes back to student's resolve. Professors can teach and develop a student but
a student are prone to academic mis-alignments which render incompetent outputs. We can say it
is the responsibility of teachers but it all comes back to the end-user "the students". We may
invest our future by nurturing a seed but this seed will not grow , perhaps it is rotten and ill.

teach based on their experience working in field practice, not only based on theories read on the

reports through an improved skills in written communication as they are very technical and are
documents that may be used in court. Instill in depth understanding and value on case
management and truthful assessments of the clients to provide a clearer and more accurate
