PASTORS VERSUS CEOs astors are individuals that look after members of the local church. Pastors are part of the ministry gifts given to help the church ready for the second coming of Christ. They have been compared to the nature of a shepherd which is one of the endearing attributes of Jesus. A shepherd gives an accurate depiction of a pastor; loves the sheep and will even give his life for them, spends time with them, feeds them, water them, nurture them and keeps them safe from harm. Another unique aspect to a shepherd is that the sheep recognises his voice and respond to it. Jesus the shepherd He shared his vision, poured into his disciples, empowered them and gave them a task when he left. CEOs are the bosses of organisations responsible for overall running of operations. They oversee systems, personnel, workflow outputs, performance indicators, service impact and most importantly profit margins. Many of the pastors of large congregations have transitioned into this role. The economic business units of some churches have justified the need for this role. Jesus the CEO Jesus built a support base and spent time building the disciples and then he chose the seventy. Jesus had an accountant (Judas). When the time was right, he empowered them and gave them a lofty task. The success of that operation is still expanding 2000 years after his death across the Globe. preach the message which is the task at hand. Many of them jump churches at will and like a plant constantly uprooted, they eventually become spiritually dead. Church of the living God If you are a Pastor, watch over the soul of your sheep because you will answer to God someday. Ground them in the word of God and take care of them physically when you are in a position to do so. When your vision commences, make plans for to train people that can help you pastor the people so that when you become a CEO, the church will still be effectively pastored and there will be no need for you to put up a show to keep them coming. trol and placating some with gifts to keep them quiet. Some even meddle in the sacred institution of marriage coming between husbands and wives. The obvious sign of a hybrid is that if you take them out of their organisation, it will die. Jesus is never at the centre though they profess to know him. Un-Pastored generation We now have a generation mostly un-pastored as they belong to entertainment centres called churches. They dont know what it means to commit to something and to be mentored. They go to a venue, listen to music, dance, and listen to an orator. Jesus doesnt have their heart and they do nothing to help build and
