A resort is a form of lodging that offers vacation and primarily gives the visitor delight. A
resort mostly provides food, drinks, vistas, and swimming pools. Depending on where a resort is
located, there are several types of resorts. Beach resorts are those that are situated on a beach,
inland resorts are those that are found in cities, islands are those that are found in either natural
or man-made environments, lakeside or riverside resorts are those that are situated next to lakes
or rivers, and mountain resorts are those that are situated inside of mountains. Four
categories—ClassAAA, ClassAA, ClassA, and Special Interest resort—are used to categorize
resorts. The setting and amenities determine a hotel's classification.
