Hello Rocketeers,
Welcome to Bali!
Bali is one of the most famous destinations in the world for all
kinds of natural treasures that it offers. The mere mention of
Bali evokes thoughts of a paradise. It's more than a place; it's a
mood, an aspiration, a tropical state of mind.

Do I need a SIM Card in Bali
First, you need to know that as a tourist (non-resident) you can only get SIM
CARD for tourists that are valid for 30 days. After choosing a package with
3, 5, 10, or x GB and running out, you cannot top-up and buy another data
plan. So, you better choose the package that has enough GB during the
company trip.
When you arrive in Bali and follow the exit signs after customs you will find
several SIM CARD vendors who try to sell you one of their physical sim
cards and internet packages.
There is no real champion here, and Indonesia has a wide range of providers.
For Bali however, I would recommend Telkomsel (Simpati).
Telkomsel is considered the most stable and widest signal coverage using
the Simpati provider offering the highest internet speed, in Bali, yet it could
be slightly more expensive than other providers.
Note: When you arrive at the hotel/resort, you can use the WIFI facilities provided by
the hotel/resort

Other Option
• Visa and Master Card are widely accepted. Credit Card payment in hotels and
most restaurants and shops is possible. A surcharge of 1 - 4% is applied when
using credit cards.
• Street vendors: cash (best in IDR) and eWallet (GoPay, GrabPay, OVO and
Link Aja
• You can pull money from ATM easily (in remote areas not so much). US$,
AUS$, and EUR will be changed almost anywhere. Make sure to go to official
money changers. If the place looks small and dodgy, it most certainly is dodgy.
• Max amount you can withdraw in one go at an ATM is around IDR 1,500,000
(machine with a 50,000 sticker) or IDR 3,000,000 (machines with a 100,000
sticker)
Payment
• Payment is done in IDR (Indonesian Rupiah). Even if many hotels publish their
prices in US$, the actual payment will be done in IDR and the exchange rate
will usually not be very good in the hotel
• Bring some cash, your credit card, a normal bank card or eWallet
• BARGAINING WITH STREET VENDORS IS A MUST. But also good to respect
their work and not to overdo it. Live and let live!
