CLO2P: Perform switch configuration with advanced features to support a secured end-to-end connectivity in a
switched network environment. (PLO3, P4)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Read and follow all requirements and procedures provided in this document to fulfil the Practical Task 3
assessment. The gained marks that you will receive are based on the rubrics attached below.

TASK SCENARIO:
The network administrator asked you to configure a new switch. In this activity, you will use a list of requirements
to configure the new switch with initial settings, SSH, and port security.

LIST OF TASKS:
Task 1: Perform Basic Switch Configuration (10 Marks)
Configure the SW-Faculty switch according to the following guidelines:
1. Disable DNS lookup.
2. Configure the devices hostname and manage interface addressing.
3. Encrypt plain text passwords.
4. Assign ptask3 as the encrypted privileged EXEC mode password and also for the console and vty
password. Enable the login function for the console and vty line.
5. Create a message of the day (MOTD) banner: PTask3_<your name>

Task 2: Configure SSH to secure remote access (50 marks)

Configure SSH to secure remote access with the following settings:

1. Set the domain name as class.com .

2. Set the RSA key-pair parameters to support SSH version 2.
3. Set SSH version 2.
4. Set the user admin with secret password ptask3 .
5. Set the VTY lines that only accept SSH connections and use local login for authentication.
Task 3: Configure the Port Security (40 Marks)
Configure the port security feature to restrict network access:

1. Disable all unused ports.

2. Set the interface mode of operations to access mode.
3. Enable port security to allow only two hosts per port.
4. Ensure that port violations disable the ports.
