Audio Amplifier

OBJECTIVES (S):
• Speakers are transducers that convert electromagnetic waves into sound waves.
• Audio Amplifier is a device which strengthen the weak signal. .
• Familiar to know how we can use transistor as a amplifier.
• To generate an output signal that is a replica of the input signal with an increased
• higher magnitude.

Equipments and materials:

• 2sd1047 transistor

• Resistor 1K ohm

• Heat sink
• Vero Board

• Capacitor 220uF
• 9 Volt Battery
• Jumping wires
• Speaker 6 ohm 10 watt

Introduction:

Figure 15.1

Audio Amplifier is a device which

strengthen the weak signal. Usually in audio systems we use amplifiers to drive the speakers of high
power rating .

Now , in this Instructables you are going to see how to make an audio amplifier using single transistor to
drive the speaker of 10W .

USAGE:
Audio power amplifiers are found in all manner of sound systems including sound reinforcement,
public address and home audio systems and musical instrument amplifiers like guitar amplifiers. It
is the final electronic stage in a typical audio playback chain before the signal is sent to the loudspeakers.

CONSTRUCTION:
we can easily make that project by using these some components
which are required than make them at breadboard for temporary
working than we will apply it on vero board, firstly we prefer breadboard because
because it can be adjustable easily but on vero board all the components will
permemantly attached to the vero board after it we simulate our project on
multisim software than in last construct it on circuit diagram permenantly . For
making projects we have some steps which are given here:

Steps fpr circuting

Circuting :

1. First place transistor on breadboard .

2. Insert resistor at pin 1 and 2 of transistor .

3. Insert positive terminal of capacitor at pin1 of transistor .

4. Insert one wire of 3.5 mm jack at negative terminal of capacitor.

5. Insert remain wire of 3.5 mm jack at pin3.

6. Insert one wire of speaker at pin2 .

7. Connect remain wire of speaker to +9v supply .

8. Connect ground of power supply to pin3 .

Plug the 3.5 mm jack to any audio playing device and enjoy the sound.

Working principle:
Speakers work by converting electrical energy into mechanical energy (motion). The
mechanical energy compresses air and converts the motion into sound energy or sound
pressure level (SPL). When an electric current is sent through a coil of wire, it induces a
magnetic field.

Applications:
The speakers helps us in listening sound and music. The speakers can easily be connected
to computer system. A message can be comveyed to group of people at once. Plays sound
when watching movies or listening songs or even playing video games. Loudspeakers are used
in radios, audio players, Bluetooth speakers as well as many other areas. Loudspeakers
have been used for many years to convert electrical signals into audio sound waves.
